  • Jack Kruse
Dr. Jack Kruse is a neurosurgeon who had an awakening in 2007 when he suffered a torn meniscus in his knee at 6’2”, 357 lbs. This led to his further study of physics, light, magnetism, and electricity. He ultimately concluded that modern medicine lacked a deep understanding of how humans function in relation to the natural world.
Kruse has written extensively on the Paleo diet and the brain-gut connection. In addition to being a neurosurgeon and author, Kruse is CEO of Kruse Longevity Center, a health and wellness company dedicated to helping patients avoid the healthcare burdens we typically encounter as we age.
He published his first book titled Epi-Paleo Rx: The Prescription for Disease Reversal and Optimal Health in 2013. His blog continues to reveal new insights on health exclusive to Kruse’s ongoing research.
    Andrew Huberman
Dr. Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and the host of The Huberman Lab podcast which discusses science and science-based tools for everyday life. It is one of the most popular podcasts on earth.
Huberman is a tenured professor in the Department of Neurobiology and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Huberman’s research on the visual system, neural regeneration, and brain states has been published in top peer-reviewed journals and publications like Nature, Scientific American, and Time.

I am a testiment of reversing myopia. Over the last 2 years my eye sight has gotten significantly better. From a -2.5 to a -1.5. My optometrist was floored. I quit wearing my sunglasses for the most part and have been spending significantly more time outside. I switched to a high fat animal based diet which I believe plays an important role as well. Thank you Rick Ruben, Andrew Huberman, and Jack Kruse 🙏 for spreading these amazing insights and information

    1) Jack Kruse is a brilliant mind in many respects, what some would say a polymath, and offers very challenging and thoughtful points of view. In many ways has expanded my knowledge or at least flex my knowledge acumen in the many ways he interconnect elements seemingly dissimilar until now.
    2) His larger than empire state building issue is that he simply cannot hold a dialogue because a) has this intractable (and plainly wrong) know-it-all attitude that he projects, and even brags about, in a sort of I have the truth, nobody else. B) it is simply impossible for him to complete a sentence or train of thoughts without going off a tangent or switching to another topic half way. C) he is obsessed with saying his view often interrupting or talking over the rest carelessly.
    3) As a result, even he is trailblazing as he believes he is doing, he is sabotaging his whole messianic attempt because he cant transmit an idea or thought. No matter how brilliant he may be; if you cannot communicate effectively, it's all waste.
    4) Those who think he is "schooling" Huberman, ppffleaase. That is adolescent. Huberman simply has the communication skills Jack Kruse lacks. Huberman could go ballistic but he choses to be a good host and allows Jack to express, keeping polite and sympathetic.
All in all amazing conversation, and Im sure we are all happy to be like flies in a wall, listening attentively.

The only time all day that the sun popped directly out. So I paused this podcast and ran outside to soak it in and got some grounding while I was at it.
I also had an epiphany. What if the hair on top of our heads play a huge role in absorbing light energy for our brains??? Maybe it is wise that we grow our hair out. Changes that could make the delivery of this content much more engaging and understandable are an actual dialogue with Andrew & Rick, clarity on impact and practical actions. I am trying to catch up on all of these podcasts and I was really excited to listen to this. However, it was not for me. The condescending attitude of Dr. Jack Kruse towards AH made this really hard to listen to, so much so I don't think I'm able to listen to part two. I think what Dr.K spoke about was really interesting and I might want to read about it, but I do not think I can handle the personality behind it.
I do believe however, this podcast is a testimony to AH's ability to listen and continue to explain complex ideas which is his wheelhouse.

Dr. Jack is a great communicator. One of the best I listen to. However, and I am not a specialist, some of Dr. Jack's theory about magnetism and frequency do not add up. I do not know if it truly affects our biology but part of is definitely inaccurate from a physics point of view.
I truly want to believe his theory as I am convinced there is a lot of truth to this.l and that part of it can make us advance as a society. Maybe more than AI.
Also,tThis should have been a debate and not a monologue. Next time this is done, Dr. Jack needs to bite the bullet and also face an astrophysicist and professionals/engineers in physics/quantum and thermodynamic. Not to fact check him on biology and his medical practice but on their specialty. You cannot defend such a wild thesis about how everything is influenced by physics while facing only a neuroscientist and a music producer. Maybe he should get research organized to test his revolutionary theory instead of defending it in a podcast.
I really want to believe. I mean it. However, Dr. Jack needs to try harder and use support his theory tested by scientists and have his pair reviewed and challenge his work. He should know this is how you advance science - with real scientists using an organized methodology. No offense to anyone here, but this is not what you get from podcast listeners. He should know this as he studied and worked in Standford. Doing this would surely sells fewer books though...

i think a lot of what jack does is to try to get the listener to A. change the way they perceive medical/health information B. also dig into the topics at hand to garner more knowledge-lead u down ur own rabbit hole so to speak. more so than give steps & protocol.
but, in terms of protocols, he gives a lot of technical information that kinda falls in line with others who adhere to tuning the body with our natural/ancestral circadian rhythm of the sun. i think it can only go as far as you wanna take it. i mean u can give up blue light entirely but how will u exist in the modern world so you have to have buffers but also lifestyle changes like…
      1. waking up on the rise (sunrise)
      2. sunning your balls/naked body if possible first 15-20 min when u wake up
      3. going to sleep 2 hrs+ before midnight
      4. wearing red shade, blue light blockers when the sun goes down
      5. using good quality ambient red light in ur living space when home after sun down
      6. don’t use ur phone the first hour ur awake
      7. grounding to the earth. you could probably use good quality, magnetic grounding mat/sheets on bed but grounding to the natural earth as much as possible can’t be beat
      9. idk ab how to mitigate sunscreen so that requires further research…
      hope this helped!

I politely wanna feedback: I am about 40min in and find the topic pretty interesting, yet having a hard time concentrating on it. I am having an issue, with Dr. Kruse's communication style - "you will disagree on... you will get h*** on... that's correct... that is bullshit...". Can't hear a "conversation" as of yet.
I sometimes feel, maybe that's one of the big issues when it comes to medicine: A lot of scientists and doctors feel to think, they know it all and only they are right. For example about nutrition and diet: One hears from people, how get healthy from severe illnesses through raw vegan diet. Others get the biggest issues, by eating a lot of raw. Ayurvedic and traditional chinese medicine think warm, cooked meals are important. Some seem to thrive on a ketogenic diet, others seem to get really sick. Some smoke and party, become 90 and barely ever catch a cold. Some swear for supplements, others say they are dangerous...
Maybe everybody is right in a way. I feel, we humans have a lot of things in common, yet, we seem to be different. True "conversations" and informing of what sbdy has found to be valid in combination with trying to understand, how a specific human and his body functions and what could be healthy for her/him, might be of value💚

It is absolutely necessary for these groups: pregnant mothers, formula fed infants and any age with halide sensitivity.
I was blasé about promoting “high dose” dietary iodine until finding the book “The Hidden Cause of Acne” by Melissa Gallico. Melissa is one of the small minority of humans who are hypersensitive to halides.

He has also said gut issues manifest in the skin as Hippocrates said long ago. Gut issues are handled by choosing your light appropriately. If the studies ever control for sunlight exposure, they would get useful results. I'd say it's likely iodine isn't the whole story of acne.

I'm a fan of Huberman. Don't know Dr. Kruse. My initial prejudice says that he is sounding very conspiratorial and like a guru who is the only one with some revealed knowledge. But I'm only 40 minutes in. Let's see what's up with him lol

His lack of humbleness an self assertive tone made it difficult for me to like him and absorb his message regardless of how interesting it may be.

It is for sure an obstacle to learning about what Kruse is saying; he's pretty abrasive. I think he's actually getting a little better than he was years ago. And it is telling that someone like Rick Rubin, who speaks very softly and with empathy, has chosen to highlight Kruse and his ideas. Kruse is like a scientific iconoclast, and Rick has worked with many iconoclasts and can see the value in what he's bringing to the table--health/life is all about LIGHT, people--even if Kruse isn't a grade A communicator.

Listened to many ppl like kruse who think they have it all figured out when nobody else in the world does and every single one of them turned out to be full of it. I doubt cruze is any different.

What are the chances of publishing a copy of ‘The Creative Act’ with Dr Kruse’s notes and scribbles? Would pay good cash for that!

Is there anyone who has interviewed him and actually forced him to explain everything he says? He’s leaving all these breadcrumbs but it feels like they’re going nowhere. I can’t make out the big picture even though he says he gave it for the first time ever. If he did it’s in all those breadc in a that point in 100 different directions at entire subjects like quantum electrodynamics that o don’t understand. We need a “science communicator” to parse everything into understandable language and explain all the references.

Jack Si is not photo conductive. GaAs or InP both III-V wide band substrates are the common optoelectronic chrystals but we have to dope them. This is why I am interest in the topic, but I am still listening....

Si is definitely photoconductive. When you shine visible light on it it generates large numbers of free charge carriers which greatly enhances the electrical conductivity.

@@robertleechin923 fair point. It just is not feasible to construct a photoemitting diode in the visible range.

Check out Konstantin Meyl, Luc Montagner and Emilio del Giudice for more explanations on light and biology. Konstantin explains how DNA is like an RFID, Luc that water interacts with DNA, and Emilio how coherent light controls the sequence of chemical reactions in your cells.
