it is indeed a new era in rap. but a lot of rap fans dont know the history nor do they care to know. the history of being an m.c. has been embedded in creativity. if you an m.c. and cannot write your own rhymes you were shunned. nowadays due the climate of low record sales, to ensure a hit, some rappers have a team of writers who assist and sometimes pen their rhymes. drake will always have an asterisk so to speak in regards to him writing his own stuff. but musically he has transcended the game. as for meek, i hope he has another diss lined up of ether type impact or his career his over. im not a drake fan, nor am i fan of most the rap out these days, im in my 30s. but having a writer or a team of writers for a rapper is the norm unfortunately.
