4. Tape measure
5. Scissor
Skirt size
Waistline 26 inches
Height 17 inches
Width 34 inches
To customize:
Get a measurement first of your desired height/length of your skirt and then the circumference of your waistline.
* Place the tape measure start from your belly button down to your knee level (or above or below your knee. Or according to your preference). Then make a foundation chain base on your desired length/height of your skirt.
* Then, measure your waistline (circumference). Place the tape measure around your waist.
Continue adding more rows until you get your size. Place your work around your waist and stretch it. Then sew it to close.
Abbreviation
St- stitch
Hdc- half double crochet
Sl- slip
Sc- single crochet

Thank you for this simple tutorial. As a beginner, I find it much easier to start with the length and then build the width/waist. This pattern is super easy to customize too to change up the look, I can’t wait to make a bunch of skirts!!

To make a bigger size do you make the foundation chain to fit your hip measurements
First you make a foundation chain according how long is your skirt. Then just add more rows only until you get your right size/hip circumference.
It stretches so when i did it, had to do it over , it was lose
Can you also go up a size in the needle would it have any difference in the skirt

I recommended whatever yarn size you are using, on the label of the yarn there is a recommended hook size you’re supposed to use. Or in my own opinion the smaller the hook you use, ( as long as it is easy for you to handle not too tight )the better. Enjoy crocheting 🧶☺️
