Fun fact: You actually CAN go out the window. Selecting the first "Stay in room" option at the beginning replaces the manga closet choice with the ability to jump out.

at 8:00 for a brief second, there was a jump out the window option-
you basically just do the waiting thing and then it shows up as an option
