Christmas cards and letters for soldiers are more dear than many can imagine. One year I was stationed overseas. I had gone to another base to visit a friend on Christmas Eve, and was walking to the gates to catch a cab back. I passed the Rec Center and saw the lights on, so I went in to see what was happening. It was ankle deep with cards and letters from school children "back home"! I sat there all night, grabbing handfuls of letters and enjoying what the kids said and the little pictures they drew. I wrote back to a few (some actually had a school assignment to do this, and got extra credit if they received a return letter.) and I still have some of the drawings 30 years later. The program to write to soldiers overseas is being cut back, but it needs to continue. It really brings cheer to lonely troops!
Merry Christmas BP! For this video though, could you please include all the years that this footage comes from, you're usually good at including it, and I want you to know that it's important, at least to me.
People at British Pathé, I would like to thank you for bringing us these videos. You do a great job. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
+intwernet Thank you!

+Magus Marquillin We'll try to do that in future. Thanks.
Christmas 1914 in the trenches was pretty "strange" too
A theme for next month could be about photography and film.
