- In this video I review some of the techniques we use to teach beginners and children the basic blocks associated with self-defense or low level combat sports. I use pool noodles early on and then switch to these gloves:

Hello there! I literally used your method today. a 7 year old girl just came to our place to train self defense (bullied) , and i saw this video yesterday and used it today. thanks, continue the great videos !!
Good to hear.
I use the noodles for blocking, bobbing, weaving, and even drilling checking my kicks. And most importantly I also use it bop people on the head!! 🤘🏻
Yep. I use the noodles a lot. I keep thinking about getting a dedicated pair of sticks but the noodles work so well.
hard2hurt yea.. in the past I would’ve used a Blocker but it’s just more cost effective to use noodles.
I eat noodles about once a week, but i live in Asia so dont hate me for it
It's funny going back to old hard2hurt videos and seeing little maddox
Thanks for making this man. I have an 8 year old who is getting picked on, on the school bus. It's pretty harmless. They are still small kids so they cant hurt each other too much. I have been wanting to teach him some boxing though, and you know how it is... kids move very awkwardly lol.
I've been sort of at a loss of how to show him the proper movements. This is a neat idea.
You're a great instructor and a great dad.
0:08 lol he knew it was coming
yeah i noticed too😂
Adorable love it. Thank you for sharing
Keep up the great work

I like it ive been using 2 balloons for my kids big and bright soft enough to give them some speed
Very smart teaching! ... in fact, SUPERB! :-)
I totally agree man. Great work
Thank you for the lesson!❤
This seems hella fun. Its like a pillow fight
The good days when he posted great stuff!
Yea
This training method is great for gentle escalation.
Awesome! Definately gonna do that with my goddaughters. They love to play and I do anything I can to get them away from the goddam ipads haha (plus maybe then I can beat someone)
Haha that ending !
lol, love he opening.
This is pure gold for trying to teach basics to... say... a 9 year old, who has close to zero interest in combat of any type. I found that using pvc pipe to stiffen them up a bit make em into passable, if ersatz, striking targets, also.
Maddox ✊👍
great video
Mike, you looked so young and sharp clan shaven
Top video
I can only agree.
This is what dads are *for* 😊
Poor Maddex has been getting dragged into this shit even when he was that young.
Wtf? He enjoys it and it's making him strong and prepared for self defense
@@Ozymothias I know, I’m kidding 😂
@@conker690 Thank goodness
My kid does karate wanted to improve her defense drills and sparring drills at home to keep them active what do u recommend
Incorporate boxing techniques
This is very late, but I would say that you can recreate this drill pretty closely - find a karate block that works against a pool noodle being swung like Mike shows and work that on both sides, eventually introduce straight punch defences and other strikes you can imitate with the pool noodles. You don't need great striking technique to get a reaction from someone with a pool noodle, so family members can play the attacker's role.
Only reason to have kids... so you can enjoy roughing them up a bit lol
Yeah regan shut it
Goku and Gohan 😇😇😇👊💯
Lol caught the Billy Madison reference
r u a cop?
