This is a re-upload due to a correction that had to be made from the previous version. Thanks for your continued support.
What was corrected?
Can you tell us what was corrected? Don’t be ashamed because we would have easily made the same mistake
Yes. The location of Eutaw Springs was misplaced on the map. We also made minor adjustments to the sound to make the narration more easily heard.
Add great falls ,the battle of fishing creek ,and landsford canal . General davie, Andrew Jackson, British fort in great falls ,Cornwallis retreat to Winnsboro, the hornets nest in Charlotte, fort mill fort
My 6x great grandfather served under General Nathaniel Greene at the battle of Eutaw Springs. His name was Joseph Whiteley and he was in the North Carolina militia there and was wounded three times before he had to be carried off the field
My 6x great grandfather fought apart of the 3rd Artillery Regiment in the US Militia during the siege of Savannah and Charleston. A Scottish man who left his land kicked out by the British just to be told you lose again. He wasn't losing his land again. He got injured in the seige of Charleston and either died their or somewhere up in the 96 area (96 was basically all the upstate Backcountry in the State. Not 96 as we know it today). My 5x Great Grandfather was a Field Surgeon for the CSA in Civil War too. Proud to be a descendant of America's founding and it's divide.
@@toddpeterson8653🫡 you come from a rich heritage. That hike from 96 to Eutaw Springs ended up at Dorchester as well. They not only fought the British but things we take for granted like Malaria and other diseases
An ancestor of mine died at hanging rock. Much of my ancestors came from South Carolina. Can’t wait to go visit!
Yes I’m from Tennessee but I’m living in South Carolina and I’ve always thought the history of sacrifice had been forgotten here in South Carolina!!
I think you’re right. There seems to be more emphasis on New Jersey and the north with the revolutionary war. People seem to focus more on the civil war for the south
Wonderful. Texas will be visiting soon. God Bless!!!
My ancestor James Lee served under General Greene. 🇺🇸
mburnhors Nice!
then why display a confederate flag who tried to break up the colonial union? Southern heritage is Union not Confederate.
Swirvin' Birds because the war wasn’t a civil war and wasn’t over slavery. We had every right to leave the union and didn’t and still don’t need a reason to do so. Though there were a multitude of reasons.
Swirvin' Birds My great uncle flew the flag in North Africa, Sicily, and Italian peninsula. It represents southern culture in the Union. Confederate soldiers are U.S veterans of 4 wars

I know this video focused more on the American Revolution history in SC and glad of the renewed effort to tell this interesting story, given I live in SC. However, I was wondering if you guys in future would do a civil war history trail of Sherman's March Through South Carolina, maybe with the Civil War Trails organization. There are places along the Liberty Trail that also has Civil War history that should be noted. For example at Hanging Rock, Union 14th and 20th Corps camped for two days in February of 1865 while at the same time, the other part of Sherman's Army was at Health Spring.
I agree with that also both can be represented.
I hope someday y'all will save and preserve battle fields like the battle of Earl's fort in landrum, battle of fort Gowen, the blockhouse in landrum which still standing since 1750. I'm the descendants of captain Thomas Howard, major John buck Gowen, John McKelvey and many other people. My family was there at cowpens Kings mountain cedar springs star fort blockhouse fort Gowen the battle of earls fort in Landrum and many others sites around here. We are losing our battlefields our history and culture here in Spartanburg county.
We are from the upstate of SC. How awesome it would be to get on some of these lands and metal detect to find some revolutionary relics and save them from the acidic soil.
I live in the north east corner on sc in Williamsburg county I’ve been researching everything I can to find somewhere to metal detect in hopes of finding something from either of the wars
@@jarrettmorris4692 Swamp Fox fought down near the coast. One place I would suggest is going to your local library and see if they have a “local history center” inside that you can spend some time researching further. Happy hunting out there.
@@southernrelics thanks!
If you do go about these hunts, I do encourage that you join in with groups that are currently in place that do them. I worked with a group and we use coordinates to map out what was found and where
TheI suspect doing that may not be permissible.😢
Born and raised in the Carolinas. My family has been on the Carolina line since these days
These small ones are great I just wish they were longer!! Great job keep up the great work!! 👍 👍
From Seneca SC living in Greenville SC I love my state
It’s not too late America, you can return to the fold.
Excellent!
Very Good idea!
You need to add in great falls ,the battle of fishing creek also know as fish dam ford and landsford canal,
So cool!
Merrica!!!! 🇺🇸
Awesome :-)
Love this lady’s accent!
What are you going to do to Camden?
Pretend they won
It would be REALLY NICE if metal detectorist such as myself were allowed in maybe by groups and were able to dig up the artifacts so everyone could see them, maybe have a building at each site to put the pictures with the artifacts in the case to show who cared about digging them up so everyone could enjoy them 😉
yes
As Americans, we need to remember what unites us and stop listening to the greedy billionaires and millionaires who divide-and-rule the working middle class who perform all the heavy lifting.
This is more poetry and od patriotism than actual history.
Well they don't want to talk about what happened after the war and how we ended up a slave nation.
Im 30 miles from Camden

i would just like to take time out and tell you eurogentiles, been in Charleston since we came off the ship. Yall did a number on my people. I wont forget. and I wont let it go. WE ARE THE HEBREW PEOPLE after 400 years.
Morgan and Greene won the revolutionary war.
Tomorrow is Gettysburg Day, where Lincoln gave his well known speech.
How can South Carolina claim they had the most battles and skirmishes when it is a known FACT that New York and New Jersey had close to 300 each? 300 is greater than 200. Wow. what a disservice to the truth. Add to that the fact that there was only 900 British Regulars here, ever.
Where American independence was won? Bit of a stretch there. A lot of a stretch there. American independence was won on fields from Boston to Savannah and in the courts of Britain's enemies in Europe. The "South Carolinians won the Revolutionary War" message is twisting history in a way unbefitting the American Battlefield Trust. For an organization supposedly dedicated to preserving history, this video is a disappointment.
It’s a commercial for the liberty trail, I do not believe this is anything but promotional material. Your outrage was fake and unfounded
Thank you. All of the MAJOR battles fighting the actual British did not happen here. And my ancestors were Over the Mountain Men...the twisting of history here is disgusting and only will further the divide. There were only ever 900 British Regulars here, most of them coming from Maryland and Deleware where there was not much military action.

You underestimate the tenacity of the loyalists in the South. They were brutal in their confrontations with Patriots. The militias in South Carolina also had to deal with native tribes the British used .The Brits did overestimate the support they would have in the South but they did win key battles
There is no denying that crucial victories at Cowpens and Kings Mountain had an effect in the turning of the tide in the southern campaign and had the Brits on the run till ultimately Cornwallis was cornered at York by Americans and French. At least 7 000 Brits surrendered there
Considering 1/3 of the war was fought in South Carolina more than any state in the colonies. The victory in Cowpens was the turning point in the war. I'd have to agree South Carolina was definitely the main battle field of the revolutionary War and where the War was won. Cornwallis southern campaign was a complete fail.
Liberty is never won nor lost on a battlefield.
It is won and lost in the heats, minds and actions of the people.
Don’t believe me?
Google “Covid” and see how quickly and easily liberty is lost. And not a shot was fired.
