- Matt and Ben go back to the Perch Pit to use the ever faithful Dyson rig to target the perch and maybe even some of the eels in the water. They are using a variety of live baits and Matt explains exactly how the rig works, how you use it and what you need to make it.

@@FanterFishing yeah i'm good thanks matt, not done much fishing this year, I was laid up with a bad cold/flu kind of thing so i'm only just starting to get out again after new year👍 back in the old days we used to call that rig a sunken float paternoster👍 nice perch too mate👍🎣

@@FanterFishing know how you feel mate, been similar with myself the camera can be over powering when fishing.
This year am taking the filming lightly and concentrating on my own fishing without recording.
Will still some content along the way though.

Well I know what I'm doing this weekend!!!
Matt B get on it mate, let me know how it goes 👍👍👍
Great movie🔝 👍😎🇭🇷
What rodes you have?
Can this rig be used at distance? Ive read that it looses effectiveness over distance. Sorry if this is a silly question. Thanks again. Great video 😊
Great video Matt
Is that a club water??
Would love to fish it.
Big Bazza’s Angling hello mate, firstly many thanks for watching , commenting and subscribing. It is a club water yes mate.
Some nice fish there. Dyson Rig? never heard it called that looks like a sunk float paternoster i,ve used for pike fishing.
I came across it when i was targettiong eels last summer,Its a well known Eel fishing rig which originated from Colin Dyson (a specimen eel angler) i am unsure on the differences between the two rigs , but im sure they are very similar. thanks for watching bud and for your comment.
Colin Dyson now I know that name I am old enough to remember his writings and editing Coarse Angler Magazine. Had a delve the CD rig was developed from a rig by Vic Bellars, have a look here www.nationalanguillaclub.co.uk/an-encounter-with-age not brill graphics but you can see the differences, later pike rigs used the float up the line. Don't fish for eels so not surprising never came across his version.
Here in the Netherlands we call that an eel rig.
Hi mate
How comes you don’t lock the sub float? It looks free running between the run ring and the float stop
Cheers
Geoff
Geoff Brooks hi geoff, good question, if you use a bead you can adjust the depth you are fishing your bait, and can also adjust the length of your hooklink.
Thanks for watching mate
Basically just a sunk float patternoster rig😉👍🎣🎣
You got that right!
Without Any Bite Off Prevention .
Great video 👍
What are the run rings you use please?
Thank you Dean, I use the Korum Large run rings or ceramic catfish pro ones 👍 the catfish ones are expensive though about £5 for three:
@@FanterFishing thank you👍
Using live fish as bait is just the ugliest way of fishing :( still great explanation of the rig.
