  • www.aomci.org meet on the Suwanee river September 2015
    Every meet on the Suwanee a bunch of us get together and run these amazing old engines mile after mile up the river, re-filling tanks sometimes several times. The engines perform as designed almost every time and the smiles they produce are worth the effort it takes to bring them back into service..

      Wow! Thanks you so much for that kind comment. It is a great and inexpensive hobby to get in to and you can't beat being on the water and seeing what you have brought back in service take you out and put a smile on your face! Take a look online at AOMCi on either FB or the WWW.

      This is a pretty inexpensive hobby to get in to and super rewarding to be able to run these old timers on the water again. If they could only talk.....they stories they could tell !

      They are well loved for sure and seem to like being taken out of a dusty old resting place and brought back in to service and out in the sunshine again and in the water!

      Sorry for the late reply. We run that river twice per year at antique outboard events. April and September. Take a look in the Florida AOMCI site for more information and thanks!!

      Hi Bruce. I have several videos with content about exactly what engine I am working on and bringing back into service. This video was made to show how we enjoy the hobby. Take a look at some of my other videos if you like and thanks for the comment!

    Great, old motors. The one at 2:56 was quite the looker.

      Well thank you! That engine is a restored 1957 Evinrude 35hp on an absolutely gorgeous 1953 Lyman. My wife bought it at the next meet after falling in love with it on the river! Gotta' love a gal like that!

      Well.....I did it for a living for a while. Worked for one of the best in the industry and ran a photo boat for him. We did a lot of what was seen in sales brochures and videos for major manufacturers.

      They are in the boats! We are all free to make that choice of whether or not to wear them. Thanks for looking at the video.

      They wanted to create the authentic vintage look, just like back when seat belts were not legally required. 😁

    I have two I just got a Johnson lt10 and a Neptune aa1a…what are your opinion on these?

    • @PappyfromtheKeys
      @PappyfromtheKeys  Před rokem +1

      While I am not very familiar with the Neptune engines I do know that you can get all the information you want at the antique outboard motor club site in the ask-a-member section.
      The LT-10 was a very nice running engine and there should be plenty of parts for that engine available. I have had one or two of them so far.

    • @PappyfromtheKeys
      @PappyfromtheKeys  Před 3 lety

      Bob, sorry for the late reply. The boat I am in is a 1954 Alumacraft model R. It is a 12' double cockpit boat. Engine is a 1954 Johnson 25hp. Boat will run right at 35mph with a single person and cruise at 30 with that engine. Also run a 1957 Johnson 18hp on it.
