It looks like the front foils are a little undersized, so that there is no reserve lift when one side goes down a little. You should have another 6-9" of length on the tips of the foils that are sticking up to have more stability.
That's pretty dang cool! I'm sure it's something to get used to running it. It almost seems like the FD is more motor than you need on that rig (although that's a beautiful '57 FD). Would a 10 horse be a good match for it?
PineTree BoatingClub Cool! I'd be interested to see the video of it with the 10. It seemed like you were having to throttle it quite a bit with the 18, and the 10 is a bit lighter so it should allow the stern to plane more easily once the hydrofoils are up. Very cool project!
I would say Jackson wasn't too pleased with it either it was not in his book of designs It was not so hot on cornering it would fall off plane in corners on the inside
Thanks for sharing, looks like an interesting DIY project
Very valuable to me who's reading up on hydrofoils. Big thank you for sharing this!

Great job on that boat and the movie! Do you think it would be more stable if you went faster? Very interesting indeed. Thanks for sharing.
dale
the faster you go the more touchy it gets Jackson recommended up to a 40 I think a 10 o even a 7 1/2 would work fine

Looks childish and under-designed

I think the operator should sit in front of the foil to get the front a bit lower, like the efoilers
