LHW is the best division to get a title shot after a couple good performances. Most divisions you have to work your way to the top. Volkon showed this when he got his title shot. Now jiri needs 2 more stellar performances and he will fight for the title. Next fight needs to be against Johnnie Walker.

@@johnstover4584 you're dumb. The man was a dominant champion already. He was put up against a ranked 7 opponent coming in to the UFC. That's a hell of a test. They already know this guy has what it takes to be a champion. Why wait to make the division more exciting with a guy who already has a proven track record? This next fight against Reyes will be a real test. Placing him against Johnnie Walker would be just so stupid.

@@MSDS-iRacing He did classical protective style in lot of his yearly fights. Now he uses this protective technique only when he is in real trouble. Otherwise he enjoys his own style of fight which includes to get some punches to get into the mood. Ofcourse it is dangerous with top ten guys... He's good, but putting him up against a guy as highly ranked and dangerous as Volkan... that doesn't bode well for Jiri. I don't know how to explain it, but his defense just makes me think it's a recipe for disaster for him. Him against Johnny Walker down the line would be interesting though. Still, maybe he'll prove me wrong.

@Martin No spekulovat muzeme mesic v kuse, ale nikdo netusi jak to dopadne. MMA je asi nejnepredvidatelnejsi sport vubec. Jestli si myslis, ze Jirku nemuze vypnout treba do 20 sekund. Tak si docela naivni. V polotezke vaze k tomu staci opravdu malo a pojem "dobra brada" opravdu nevim co znamena. Jestlize dopadne na bradu dobre mirenej uder. Idealne hak, kterej tu bradu jen lizne. Tak se "zhasne v ustredne" uplne kazdemu. To je proste lidska fyziologie..

Also in our country there are some fighters or trainers who thinks that Jiri wll lose. I understand that but again I would not underestimate Jirka, because he really has to become the champion of his weight in the UFC. He has a soul for it, he has a body for it, he has experience for it. I understand that until it is confirmed, he will be underestimated but we have to wait to see it. Jirka has a stamina, he has a hard chin, long and hard fists and a knee, when he gets into trouble he switches to a more stronger form. He also doesnt knock when he get submission which he once proved when he lost to submission but he didnt knock. This is just proof of his motivation.

Everybody comes to the UFC thinking they are gonna crack heads, because they were the best in some other promotion, fighting guys that nobody has ever heard of, or beating guys who are UFC washouts. 95% of the time they get a rude awakening. I hope its a good fight

Lots of guys come to the UFC from small organizations with high Hopes. Alot are undefeated. They all have big dreams. Most stumble and burn out. Could your he beat Volkan? Maybe. But all his countrymen are talking about him being the UFC light heavyweight champion. Unless Reyes and Jones retire. That's not happening
