The cost of food has increased by 25% in two years, rents have increased by 10% in two years, the government plans to raise council taxes in some areas by as much as 21% a year and the government thinks that deducting 2p from someone's national insurance contribution is going to make a difference? Yes. Nobody can deny that Sir Keir is good at talking the talk and making funny jokes: "Chuckle brothers, Willy Wonka etc", but can Labour do any better than this lot? What is the long term economic plan that Labour has to offer? Cameron and Osbourne, had a long term economic plan that worked while they were in office. It all happened during the coalition government with the support of the Liberals and capable hands of people like Vince Cable. Those were the best five years the UK had, while we were in the EU and had a firm set of hands at the steering wheels. Like it or not, it's the truth.

'can Labour do any better than this lot?' - I'm no Labour supporter, but just by being competent and honest with the public they will be streets ahead of the Tories. The problem is that the Tories have raised personal taxes and public debt to record levels. This leaves Labour in a real bind. They can either borrow money to fund expenditure, cut spending or increase taxes. Their only real option is number one although I'd like to see them also raise corporate taxes and taxes on assets. Sadly the mainstream media will have collective amnesia and forget how the Tories recklessly borrowed without any investment whatsover in the countries economy or infrastruture. At least Labour will borrow with a plan in mind, and not waste the money on useless PPE, a non functioning track and trace system or covid loans made to shell companies.

This Tory government are a disaster which is hard for a Tory supporter to admit. However, Rachel Reeves seems to just rehash Gordon Browns system of increasing the public sector like employing hundreds more tax collectors. Encouraging entrepreneurs within the private sector is the only way we can encourage investment in the UK but also seems to fall on deaf ears within the Labour Party. I would certainly give a Labour Government a chance if they showed more support for private sector and they get rid of that awful mouthpiece Angel Rayner.
