Fortunately I heard Renata at the old Met. in the 1950's. Those years were "Tebaldi at her best". Incredible sound.
For beauty of voice, smoothness, evenness of sound, projection and volume as spinto soprano Ms Tebaldi will always be on anybody’s short list. For acting skills and high notes it will have to be someone else.
Fantastic tribute to one of God’s greatest voices. And Ms Millo is in that same firmament: The Greatest Artists of Italian Opera.

I am visiting Florence in early May. Is there no opera? I can not find any performances.
I fell in love with Tebaldi as a toddler, listening to her recordings as my Italian grandfather played them. It has been a lifelong love affair, and I am envious of anybody who had the opportunity to hear this great voice in person. I have heard it was an equally beautiful and huge sound even in the Met. ❤❤❤
