I can see your drift cut out often, you can hold the drift button while on the air so it stays (or at least that happens to me) although you might accidentally flip somewhere
Yep we call it Drift Boost Stall, or DBS (as I mentioned later in this vid for a second)

The Peppermint face guy used to be a bot in all of my lobbies in Chapter 3 and if I got a bounty, he'd be my target. Every single game. LOL
Leth, the leader pulls away from you twice at this point of the map. 1:27 I think it's a spot to improve. I almost looks like he hits a booster on the ceiling maybe?
Leth’s route with the double boosters is better, the leader is just using a bunch of boost afterwards

You’ve gotta try aerial pitch mate! It makes most flights much cleaner/faster.
Change it off inverse in the controller settings so it matches dodge directions, then you can use that and cut your thruster spend rate by like 75%.
Huge tip: It’s coded so that any amount of thrust gives you a set amount of lifted flight time.. meaning if you use the quickest taps possible you can use 1% thrusters for .5+ seconds of lift.

@@VerseTalk247 Rocket Racing > Start > Settings > Game tab > Set “Invert Airborne Control” to OFF. Then, while airborne press the left stick up to fly up and down to fly down. If you need to go up faster, just press dodge and you don’t have to worry about moving the stick because it’s already up due to you pitching up. (Before, you would be pitching up with the stick down, and to dodge up you had to jerk the stick the other direction)
And for the thrust, just use very short taps unless you need to gain a lot of height quickly.

I love this game mode. I'm currently Platinum 1 and really enjoy the game!
there is a mechanic on KBM that lets you pitch your car up/down while in the air, allowing you to turbo almost straight forward in the air without using any thrusters. you can also air pitch down to get to the ground quickly if a dodge isn't viable. it's a very useful mechanic that not many people know about, since it can only be found by looking through the keybind settings. (im also not sure if its supported on controller)

On controller it‘s just putting the left stick up or down, i wouldn‘t even call it a mechanic, it‘s like turning left or right on the ground, it‘s just normal in an arcady game like RR, no need to look in the settings
Yea I noticed Leth never uses aerial pitch, which is up and down on the left joystick. I disabled the inverse pitch so up goes up and it is way more natural because it now matches the dodge directions.
You can fly 10 times as far in a more controllable way with pitch up and only tapping thrusters as needed every 1-2 seconds.

you can press drift more times to rotate the car more aggressively. Other than that try to practice the traditional racing line and hit apexes to not hit walls

Question? I’m in Platinum 2 right now. I’ve been slowly climbing the ranks but you mentioned a 10 min queue for your games. Would you say it’s worth trying to climb to the higher ranks for the average player?
Yes. I’m D3 and get short queues, also this vid was put out a lil after it came out so more people have come onto it (allowing more lobby’s or and hopefully faster queues) 😅

@lethamyr 1:12 if you waited a second, “jumped” off the ledge for a small air boost AND then turbo’s you’d get more speed
How do u boost while drifting?
I think where you kept falling behind at is when u kept hitting the red zone to the side of the tracks and u kept losing hella speed

Got titanium white oem’s from a drop on rl so mine transferred over so I didn’t have to grind to get em

Im about 85% Diamond 3, about to hit Elite. I know you lose progress for backing out early but i was just wondering if anyone knows if you eventually start losing progress for poor performance in any of the later rankings like Elite, Champion or Unreal?
I ask because between crashing and losing concentration i tend to get bottom 3 just as often as i get top 3. Just wondering if I’ll eventually hit a progress wall so-to-speak.

I've been stuck on champion 68-74 for hours almost a day now, any advice?
Wym by "hours almost a day now"? Like your queue times are 1+ hours for the past day? If that's what you meant, then say it ain't so... I'm Diamond III trying to get to your level for those crimson rims xD That sounds miserable though. There isn't much you can do about the wait times, because it is dependent on player count + skill based matchmaking, things get really narrowed down at the highest ranks. My advice is to maybe try getting a full squad to play with you. They will be playing at your rank, assuming you're the highest out of them. In matchmaking, you and your three other squad mates could possibly fill lobbies quicker.

Sadly, Rocket Racing usually sees the least amount of players out of the three new gamemodes as well. Sometimes it straddles on the same numbers as Festival Main Stage

Learn the best paths round tracks, and drift a lot. As much as possible round any corner, pretty much. Then worry about advanced stuff after you’ve got those down

You can’t demote after unreal I’m pretty sure
How do you downwards flip
Same as the other directional dodges (left, right, up): Press your assigned Air Dodge button (check under Settings > Controller Mapping) while holding the left joystick downward. I recommend turning off “Inverse View” under Settings > Game, otherwise you will be holding the left stick down to pitch up while flying, making it hard to dodge downward.

You can't hit Diamond once you hit elite, you can't demote at all once you hit Unreal

I'm silver and play with a friend who's Plat 2. I end up in 12th a lot but I'm surprised how easily I catch up sometimes so I think there's something there.
Kinda, because there‘s drafting.
If you‘re close enough behind someone you‘ll be faster, so there’s kind of a snowball effect where ultimately the 1st probably will be caught up by players behind.
This game is all about optimizing your lowest speed by knowing the best routes, boost pads location, and drift lines. And knowing the best times to use your boost charges.
So in the end the rubberbanding exists but it‘s way less important than skill.

@@Im_a_lil_slowjust a matter of experience, the more you play the more you‘re gonna know when to start a drift in each turn, if you need to press the drift button again in a long turn to drift tighter/longer, how much you need to steer/countersteer, things like that
