Thats simple too... A double double doesn't just mean 2 cream 2 sugar. Because 2 cream and 2 sugar in a small 6 oz coffee and the same 2 cream 2 sugar amount in a 16 oz coffee will be drastically off ratio. So a larger coffee needs more sugar to maintain the ratio.

A lot of people are addicted to sugar in restaurant food. Major restaurant chains are the worst. It takes a deliberate shift to wean yourself and/or family from it.
After a significant break from the excessive sugar in your diet, you will be more sensitive to the overly sweet additives in so many restaurant food.
Even if you exercise a lot, the high sugar content is still detrimental to your health. Sugar is only one factor to deal with in an unhealthy diet. Saturated fats and excessive salt also need to be addressed.
