I never understood why Disney just leaves old attractions and parks to rot instead of demolishing them. It's not like they don't have the money to do it...
Sometimes they might be able to reuse some parts of old attractions.
Plus if it was shut down for a death(rare) they may not want to disturb a resting place or if it was shut down from a bacteria outbreak because of unsanitary things they dont want the bacteria getting into soil
They probably want people to find them and leave behind some history :>

People who sneak into these abandoned places are so brave. I get creeped out just looking at these places through video, let alone traversing them IRL.
Cartoon High Nothing creepy actually took place in these areas, but they just give off weird vibes. Idk if it’s because they give off creepy abandoned vibes like a nuclear holocaust/war happened or if they just give off creepy vibes knowing that people did die at some of those locations Lol. I don’t know what’s actually causing these creepy vibes, but I strongly dislike them. Lol
I think that the creep factor comes from the fact that they are abandoned. There was once a lot of people, making a lot of noise and having fun. Now, there is only silence.

They found him, and it wasn't pretty. Some dude stole him from the ride, then tore him apart and is selling the parts online. There's a picture floating around of his head missing the eyes, hair, hat, etc. It's freaking disturbing.

I actually vaguely remember going to that "Cranium Commands" ride when I was five. I just didn't remember what it was called until now. I remember the general or something saying to the audience, "And where do you think you are? Disney World?" So that's what happened to that attraction.

Wow, it seems EPCOT is the mother of all abandoned attractions.
They just had so many ideas and not enough funding for their attractions and countries so we got B-list attractions which eventually were closed anyway. It's a sad history but it's still very interesting to see the process of making Epcot into one of the best Disney Parks
Epcot is about the “future” and the future will always change, so it makes rides outdated and soon they’re abandoned.

He was half right. it was also because of a state of Florida law. That was well documented. Attendance was also a factor but that was before the law.
2:18 However! In 2019, Wreck it Ralph and Venelope were introduced into Imageworks and was a meet and greet area for guests. But the way they make their entrance is they come through a tunnel of light called "The Link" and it is believed that they used remnants of the rainbow tunnel to create their entrance! Look it up, it's pretty neat!

this might sound a little weird, but every time i go to disneyland i can’t help but notice the little remnants of the past disney’s left abandoned. the skyway station in fantasyland, the track/loading dock for the people mover that was destroyed by the rocket rods in tomorrowland, and even the track for nature’s wonderland in frontierland have been left nearly untouched. it’s so interesting to think of how much the park has changed in just around 60 years.

Actually, Buzzy has been used for animatronic testing periodically, as recently as this summer. He's completely intact and is supposedly going to the Walt Disney Archives.

YES. I have watched a lot of abandoned Disney videos and no one EVER talks about River Country or Discovery Island for abandoned attractions and they're the most obvious ones! Kitchen Cabaret/Food Rocks is also not mentioned a lot, and I didn't know part of it was still existing within soarin! Awesome job!
River Country is actually a popular subject in many videos. I have never seen videos with Food Rocks in them though.

Im not entirely sure, but i think they might've found out what happened to Buzzy, but i don't think anyone got him back. I think the person who stole Buzzy took him apart, and sold the parts on Ebay or some online shopping place like that.

I'd love to see an overhaul of Cranium Command with the characters from Inside Out showing guests a typical day in the life of Riley.
Also, my wife and I wanted to try and find River Country, but weren't sure how to get there. Then, later on, we took one of the boats that travels between Fort Wilderness and the Magic Kingdom and saw it being torn down, and the person driving the boat explained that they're going to be building a new resort in its place.

Recently, someone was found "Camping" on the Island formerly known as "Discovery Island". Charged with misdemeanor tresspass and banned.
The original Journey into Imagination didn't close until 1998, not 1992. So 2011 was about 15 years after closing, not 20 years.

That rainbow corridor actually sounds like an amazing thing to travel through. Imagine just walking right through, seeing all the colors of the rainbow pass by you everywhere you look. I can imagine it could cause some children seizures, but would be like a portal to another world to anyone without epilepsy.

1.Discovery Island. ( Discovery Island in Bay Lake at Walt Disney World, Florida, abandoned since 1999. Walt Disney bought this place in 1965 and opened the Treasure Island here in 1974.18 Nov 2013)
2.Disney's River Country (This abandoned Disney water park has been rotting for over 15 years - now it's turning into a resort. When Disney River Country opened in 1976, visitors flocked to Orange County, Florida, to ride the winding slides and traverse the wooden bridges. The park closed down 25 years later, and today, it lies abandoned.27 Jun 2018)
3. Rainbow Corridor in the Imagination Pavilion In 1992, the Journey into Imagination pavilion was completely overhauled. The ride was redone and ImageWorks was moved downstairs and re-named to the What If Labs? The second floor of the Imagination Pavilion was closed to the public and for years, it was unclear on what had happened to the rainbow tunnel and the rest of the original ImageWorks area.
4 . Mike Fink Keel Boat Dock in the Magic Kingdom (At about 5:30 p.m. on May 17, 1997, the Disneyland Gullywhumper boat began to rock side to side. It capsized, dumping a full boatload of passengers into the Rivers of America, leaving several with minor injuries. The boat was removed from the waters for inspection and neither the Gullywhumper nor the Bertha Mae returned for the next operating season. The Bertha Mae was put up on Disney's eBay Auction Site and was sold for $15,000 to Richard Kraft, and was later featured in a scene from Kraft's documentary Finding Kraftland. Very cool video! I always assumed that disney "abandons" these attractions as it isn't feasible to spend time and money physically removing them until the need arises. It is fun to discover that these are still around however. Like finding a treasure!

1. Discovery island is actually famous by becoming a creepypasta for a series called abandond by Disney and then a Five Nights at Freddy's fangame called Five Nights at Tresure island
2. At the time of commenting this Buzzy was stolen from the ride
"Buzzy" actually got stolen. Someone snuck into the area he was in and tore him from the chair, nobody knows who did it and where they took him.
And two weeks after this video came out, someone went in and stole Buzzy and the Hypothalamus Robot from Cranium Command...

IKR? The attraction in its original form should've remained open PERMANENTLY!!
@@SaraHouck461 -- I agree. Journey in it's original form was absolutely the best and was the most popular attraction at EPCOT Center. It was so well loved by the guests that DISNEY couldn't close the attraction.
The platform in the beginning with DreamFinder and Figment didn't work well. It was supposed to synchronize with the ride vehicles but it occasionally missed and jambed the ride and stopped the whole attraction.
DISNEYs' fix was to tear out the platform and re-imagine the attraction to a very bad version, minus DreamFinder and Figment. The ride was shortened and the new story was very bad. They also closed the upstairs Image Works Permanently. COST of re-imagining was pretty much why they ruined the entire attraction. This was NOT received well by guests and closed very soon after opening. It was re-imagined again, this time with Figment showing up a couple of times but it still sucked. This would be the version you see today.
