This is one of the coolest things you've made, and considering how many streaming gadgets you've made, that's a lot of competition.
Aww thank you!
@@ScottFalcowe now need a toon link toontuber where all he does is make those grunting noises, and add that one part of your totally legit speedrun where he rants about gender equality
@@ScottFalcodo you think using models from source filmaker could also work or is this mainly for 2D?
@@lucazeroblueversion9346 if you record what you want in sfm and put them in sammi and change the settings to fit them, it should technically work
*I know who you are.*
*Bring back the Gardevoir.*
Yoo thanks for not only making a (second) tutorial, but also for sharing your files and folders for us. Really appreciate the effort you put in all of this.
I'll use this when I can. Thank you, Scott. You are an unsung hero in the VTubing community.
I'm impressed by how much you've managed to improve the ToonTuber engine between iterations! Though i do use an existing PNGtuber engine within SAMMI, it's nice to see variations and easy access to more cool software!
Scott I cannot thank you enough. As I mentioned before, I had an idea for streaming that this PERFECTLY fit. You didn't have to update for the new files but you really went all the way with this. Thank you so, so much. I really appreciate it. God bless you
Thank you for being so thorough with your setup. I was digging you ToonTuber concept when you released your first tutorial, and I appreciate you helping to fill a gap that has a different flavor than the many Live2D models out there.
Scott, this so cool! I think the instructions were well done and well explained. I’m hoping to see more ToonTubers in the future!
Thank you for this. I can doodle stuff and mildly animate lol so, I can't wait to get this going.
I literally just moved over my previous animation folders after copying the new deck info into the most up to date OBS/Sammi setup and it all worked immediately. You continue to be an inspiration!
(Also R.I.P to StreamFX's creator for causing so many headaches)
OH In case it helps anyone! Cus I got stuck on this with both of these tutorials but I figured this out!
If you don't know what you're doing with the scene and the greenscreening, you are supposed to just leave the tuber occupying the whole scene and then _on the scene you're _*_actually going to be using,_* you can go to Add > *Scene,* and then put the entire tuber scene in there.
I had been struggling with this cus it seemed like that would be the sensible thing to do but I could not figure out how to do it?? but when he explained in this video that you can add the greenscreen to the _scene itself,_ not to the individual items (like I had done XD), that got it to click and then I finally found the button I was missing haha
So just go to your *normal scene,* or create one, which will have all your UI, game capture etc etc, and right click in the right-hand box and hover over the Add section, or click the plus sign at the bottom, and then there is one in the list called *Scene.*
If you applied the greenscreen ( *Chroma Key* ), to the tuber scene as he shows in this vid, then you can jsut resize it as needed.
Also, my character has a blue body, with more purplish markings, green eyes, and pink mouth insides and blushies. so I had to use a colour wheel to find the colour that was farthest away from any other colour/tone on my character to use as the chroma key. you can manually set your own colour and adjust the sliders until it feels comfortable.
Be aware that an antialiasing artifact halo will require more tollerance on the chroma key which can cause it to bleed into other colours, so you want the outside of your outline to be as rigid as possible. I ended up saving mine as APNGs, but I think Gifs are also supposed to work, just be careful if your export is getting downscaled cus that will most likely cause antialiasing on the outline.
A little is fine, but the more there is, the harsher the chroma key has to be, and that can cause bleed with the transparency.
Or maybe just... avoid using a character with green eyes XD or green anything, and just use the default haha.
THANK YOU, i couldnt figure it out for hours, i love comments like these.
@@fluffyxai5065 btw have you encountered an issue where upon pressing a hotkey for a different animation, your entire tuber just dissapears until you reopen the program and have to manually find the folder with sprites again?
@@CharmedReally7 yikes! No I haven't. I haven't had time to make more animations for different emotes so he just has the one. I also haven figured out how I'll switch between them either.
But I'll have to keep an eye out for that one
Thank you so much for posting this guide and giving us the tools to make this style of puppet. The face tracking style of V-Tubing has a bit too much of an uncanniness for me, but your Toon-Tubing setup seems to have so much more freedom of expression, even though it's limited to voice-activation and key binds.
I've been putting off making videos (mainly out of shear laziness), not only this has this inspired me to learn how to animate, but it has lit a fire.
As cheesy as it sounds, thank you so very much for this gift.
Where do I get the starter folder? The link is dead.
I can't thank you enough for what you're doing. This could potentially solve all my issues about starting my channel and you made it sound like it was nothing. I'll follow your work for the rest of my time on internet, really thanks for this.
This is super cool! Thanks for all the work you put into this update 🎉
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! Setting this up on my OBS as we speak. Plan to work on a toon tuber for it the next few days
i'mma start messin around with this. thanks homie, you're so awesome for this, it allows for so much more creativity with streaming avatars imo👍
Everything is going incredibly smoothly so far! I personally had a little confusion at first as I mistakenly told SAMMI the _actual_ Mic name as opposed to just what OBS calls it, but all went well once I sorted that out...! (^ ^;)ゞ
-Incredible, this time around it practically sets _itself_ up-I have to say quite the contrast and update from the last
Amazing job and thank you so much-! (人*´∀`)。*゚+
It was tough to get the auto install to work but i figured itd make things WAY easier for people!
@@ScottFalco The effort is beyond appreciated, and God bless you-! ✧(^ ^ )ゝ
@ScottFalco is girl version of character
This is so amazing! Thank you for figuring stuff like this out, I might even try my hand at it. Something a little less daunting than a Vtuber, and something a little less stagnate as a PNG tuber!
This is something I never expected from ScottFalco of all people.
You wonder how long before Nintendo claim copyright of the backing track…
Scott falco my favorite vtuber
toontuber now hehaheha
This is amazing, will def be using this and joining the toon tube battalion!
Awesome, been waiting for this update. Tried going back to the first one but was just having too much trouble with OBS and my own lack of tech savvy and stuck with a regular PNG. Really looking forward to trying this out.
I first thought that VTubing was pretty tricky but easy to do.....but this....i have a whole new respect for VTubers and ToonTubers
Thanks for not only one tutorial but an update, a second tutorial and some starter files. I don't see myself using a toontuber but it looks great.
Definitely gonna try setting this up tomorrow as I'm starting to stream again, thanks for this amazing tool!!!
I've been waiting my entire life for this update 👀 *Three Decades & it was worth the wait*
This is amazing, thanks for all that detailed info. You’re great!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve been wanting to do this for a good while so thank you for making this video
I'm gonna use these for gameplay clips! Thanks again Scott!
AWESOME!! Thanks for working hard on making a second version
Honestly, its something I wanna try, so I’m glad I waited for the new video! Might not have any experience in animation but I hope I can do my best!
this is SO much easier!!! thank you so much Scott!!
As someone who has wanted to get into vtubing for a long time but has never had the time nor knowledge to do so...
Thank youuuu!!!
Whoo hoo! Amazing how far your toon tuber has gotten!
Thank you for this guide my dude!
Scott you’ve truly made it so far love your content 😊
Definitely saving this video for future reference. Thanks for doing this!
Oooh.... this sounds like fun..might take a while to set up animations but I did always want something like this.
Thank you for taking the time to make this.
Hey scott is their a way you can show us how you import your character while using sammi in a video? This honestly confused me alot i made my own avatar but i cant find out how to get each different emotes into obs with sammi in general. sorry if this is too much to ask but it will really help out!! thank you so much
Good timing I was just setting up the ToonTuber stuff so good to hear I don't have to downgrade
Thanks Scott! Ever since I stopped using Adobe Character Animator, I needed to figure out a new system, and for some reason, most of the free Vtuber programs aren't very 2D Friendly
I’ve been wanting to figure out a way to streamline and improve my avatar in CZcams videos and this is PERFECT for that. I definitely want to play around with this!
scott you landed a credit in my stream for this, its exactly what I need! thank you!
Yess! Love the new tutorial. Not gonna lie the 1st version was a little bit to learn. This looks way easier. Thanks again for making such a goated too tuber set ipy
this is cool, and it doesn't even have to just be used for stream avatars!
imagine using that sort of thing to make your own animated adlib comedy series like Aqua Teen
hell one could make avatar animations for ads and other things with this method!
you didn't just come up with a cool vtuber idea, you came up with a really cool live record animation method! Adult Swim would be jealous. lmao
Very nicely done friendo i would have no idea what was what lol i was considering a toontuber honestly so this helps out thanks for the info!
Thank You so much Scott this really means a lot for my CZcams career ❤❤❤
thank you so much! :O i didn't know you made an updated vid! so cooool!!!!!
This is awesome! As a voiceover artist good with impressions, I'd have fun with a bit reward that changes my normal camera out for a ToonTuber of Solid Snake, and I'd have to talk like Snake for a few minutes.
I seriously love the new scott model! also, thank you for the new tutorial!
This is awesome. Just going to have to get a beefier setup or stop some background processes before doing this.
Yes finally the tutorial I've been waiting for, this was very helpful too
Fantastic work and great progress!
very cool that you made an update, but i wish you went over stuff like what the idle animations are comprised of again in this, coz now i gotta watch both tutorials and piece together what parts are relevant and what isnt
Thanks, I've been thinking of having an animated character for my educational videos so I might give this a try.
Omg the costume swapping is HUGE. I have so many tshirts for mine that just... clog up obs. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Hey i can use this to start my online career
Yeah of course!
I recreated this in scratch!
the starter folder is gone.
The timing on this is incredible
the sequel that i wasnt really waiting for!
Yippee!! I think I can do this! It looks fun!!
Looks awesome, and love the concept, now if only i had the artistic talent to actually animate something
U did a great job scott-falco!! :D
In the future U should probably show more cool stuff
U make!
Dude
I think Scott falco just made a million dollars idea
Woooah, this got me really excited and i really wanna try it out. The link for the starter folder is broken unfortunately :(
Wooow, I was literally *_just_* in the middle of reviewing the original video only to see the Description was gone to stop you from using that method and linking to this one- (≧▽≦)
-How convenient, thank you so much...! ♪(´▽`)
This is amazing thank you so much!!
With your experience, are there any animations you recommend making?
Like happy ofc but things like sad, blushing, etc.
I’ve been considering doing this. Biggest issue is my utter lack of art and animation skills.
neato, thanks for this, now I can become courage the cowardly dog for halloween
This is awesome!
the Starter Folder is no longer available.
Can you share it as a Google Drive link or something?
Thank you !
Oh my god, this gonna stream line some animations and voice recordings for me
bro, love it... may try it later... when im free...in 5 months
Yo Scotty, if you use browser sources instead of media sources you could use transparent animated WebPs, Gifs, or APNGs instead of video files. Then no chroma key required.
Edit: If using browser sources you do need to use the css line
img {background-color: transparent !important;}
for it to work. This didn't use to be needed, but chrome's default image handling changed so.... yeah.
Great work. I did have one random question though. If you're using WEBM why the chromakey/greenscreen in your files and not just render out the file with alpha transparency? Doing it that way should allow things like softer / semi-transparent lines and not having to worry about what colors are in your characters. MOV supports it too but WEBM is definitely the way to go here.
Does it run faster in OBS using a chromakey filter in OBS rather than rendering a source with alpha transparency? If there's a technical reason I definitely would like to know. I'd hate to do all the work exporting animation with transparency only to find out it breaks something. :D
I still have the green/black box around my model how to remove it? I added the chromakey but still the black lines shows. in the video he have a greenscreen filter mine is just chromakey not greenscreen, how to get the same result he have ?
Thank you so much! all the things I found were 3D!
The only thing I will have trouble with here is to actually draw an animate the toontuber lmao
El verdadero mordecai, 456
y intenso rigby waun
I really like it personally!
Neat, might give this a shot for giggles as I'm gonna be force into bed/home/chair for a while(I'm sick at time of writing; not like I'm being held down or something to make a tuber rig)
Hooray, I like this channel
Don't know who you are, but I like the detail of the hollow knight jacket. It's comfy to me too. Any who, cool video, might use this :)
Great work scott :3 hope lots of people make lots of cool stuff with it
Especially you! :D
Oooh, I just finished my entire toontuber model! Everything's Raring to go!! Thanks sm for the tutorial, this is way funner to use and tbh simpler than rigging ^-^
Very sorry, would you mind updating the starter folder link for the tuber's deck file? Thank you!!
Hi, do you perhaps still have the Starter Folder somewhere? It seems like it was taken down on MEGA and now no one can access it...
@@xemax4125 Im sorry!:( I never got to download the starter folder either.. However, I just finished my Vtuber using LandiTube extension instead when I couldn’t get the starter folder! It’s the same premise as this and honestly much easier to use TToTT Give it a try :D
@@xemax4125 Im srry!! I never got to download the Starter Folder either:( I just finished my VTuber using LandiTube SAMMI extension instead!! Hope this helps :D Its very easy to use
I'm glad I'm not the only 3ds background user
Boost because i need more 2d animation in my life
Oh for SURE using this (:
wow! thank you, for this epic video and download. Dumb question i have streamlabs does this work on it?
Looks cool. Unfortunately it says the starter folder isn't available anymore.
i had an idea to get a bunch of usb pedals and have each one correspond to a specific animation, and then play it like an organ to trigger specific animations. would that like. work
Yeah that's what I do lol
Most universal solution would be to adapt them to keyboard bindings, there's programs to do that from MIDI assuming those are MIDI pedals
Very nice video🥹❤️
Do you plan on doing more revisions in the future to streamline the process so it can work for podcasting?
Now how do i edit the emote to make my character be the toontuber, and which software should i use to animate?
Finally. We have cartoon vtubers
NEED this in life
Ok so I need some serious help. I'm currently using a Blue Snowball mic and I'm getting a pop up that says no filter was found in the source "Blue Snowball". there is nothing I can do right now that can allow sammi to recognize my mic. I've even tried changing the name of the mic on OBS so that it matches the way I've been typing in on Sammi, and still no results. I've been starring at my screen for hours, Does anyone here know how to fix this?
im having the same problem and there doesnt seem to be anyway to fix it :(
