I know I haven’t touched on costs in the video as it’s not as simple as saying it’s X amount more. There are a few factors to consider, the time/labour taken to mix - mixes faster. If you’re laying at 10mm compared to say 30mm, you will cover a larger area so saving on bedding material that way. Yes, if you bought the same volume of materials ie sand & cement to Pro-Bed it would cost more (roughly double the cost I think, you would have to check with your local merchants) but you have to look at the bigger picture. If you use Pro-Bed to it’s full potential then it’s comparable cost wise to sand & cement but with all the associated benefits.
Hi matty are we look at £180 a bag as that's double sand and cement is a ton .if so that's not that bad all considered but here is a tip for you get some wheelie bins as open bags at end of jobs are hard to move I often get bulk bags of cement and they a nightmare in the rain
We use it in town centres with 80mm York stone great stuff used it for years with there flow point system wouldn’t use any thing else, also great if you want to wash down before you grout as consistency doesn’t change when laid and compacted but water will drain through without affecting the bed 👍🏽 great vids boys keep um coming
Arrrrrrrrrrrr ! Interesting Matty glad I’ve seen you use it and knowing it comes in bulk bags obviously is a massive bonus ! I personally always put a lot of time into my bases using type 1 then a 20mm down granite etc ! ( even screed it ) so may have to look at it to be fare ! Thanks for the vid mate loads of info and a great watch like all ya vids ! Right am off for a tug coz am divorced and I can !!
Yeah I’ve seen they do it in a silo. Dead interesting to hear you’ve used it and recommend it. Thanks for the comment Carl 👍👍 Just out of interest, What are you laying on it mate, and what depth please?
Can't beat it from a silo haha we've done quite a few town centres so a lot off granite 100 mm thick all sizes from 100 mm cubes to 900 wide slabs all roughly 30 mm bed. But we've also laid on 10mm beds and 75mm beds it just works mate

Wow 👌 big fan of all their products , didn't know this came in bulk matty, availability going to be a major factor also price on to the average customer , but looks the dogs mate if only they had added a primer in aswell save all that roller work 👍👌

Marshalls and easy prime roll on well and last well. Pavetuf is gritty and goes of quicker. For me like the marshalls primer the best on what used so far.
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping Jewson up here mate changed from aztects easy prime to the pavetuf line. It’s cheaper but with the grit content and going off quicker for me isn’t good easy prime. Liking the marshalls primer at the moment. Going use some pro prime at some point 🤟🤟
Hi m8 what do you recommend for grout for porcelain slabs have used easy grout total crap with going lighter cause I am installing more porcelain to another section of my garden….much appreciated also your work is outstanding 👍🏻
Great video. Just wondering if you have tried any of the alternatives to Instarmac such as Stein Tec, Parex or Larsen Street Scape and if so how do they compare with the Instarmac material.
Would this product be good for granite sets then use flow point to lock it all in for the job I have a tonne bag would do any idea of roughly what price would be cheers pal great work 👍
Hi mate, yes it would be ideal for that. It’s comparable to sand and cement when everything taken into account. Your local Jewsons will price it, any issues let me know and I’ll put you into my contact 👍
How come the bed is much dryer than I’ve seen in the past? One random question also, what grit is the Montilit diamond grinder sander you use to smooth cuts?
When we added more water it didn’t handle the same as a wet sand and cement mix, probably coz there’s no plasticiser in it. So we just stuck with a moist mix, not how I’d normally lay but didn’t bother me. 60 & 120 grit
Haha nice one mate. Got some plans for the new year. Got our biggest one yet, it’s a cracker! Gonna be a 3 month project and I’ll be doing weekly uploads 👍 Thanks for the interest my mate
