Great work man!! Thats the difference between the professional and amature.
Thank you.
I done all this and the weeds are back a few weeks later so what have I done wrong? 😢
@@emmacummings9191 Same here, multiple times.
@@emmacummings9191 put a sand betwen
Thank god for someone who keeps it simple. Easy to follow and useful tip about the sand. Thanks.
MrChris4267 Thank you lol, why make things appear harder then they are. not the shortest video, but I'm glad it seems straight forward.
Did you use sealer or what would you suggest to bring the colour of the brick back up like new ?

Fantastic video, thank you for showing how to do the job to perfection.
Nice work and really good advice with the kiln dried sand.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. By far the best you tube video on this subject.
Fantastic video pal. Straight to the point and no filler. Saved me a bit of cash and a headache too!
Thank you! very easy practical method. I will definitely give it a try.
Good job, been there and got the tee shirt and muddy spray-back up to my armpits. Three days work and needed every other year.
Best work and best demonstration for who is interested in sanding his derive way
very well explained!
Such an easy to follow and imformative video. Thanks matey. Will help me when I go to do mine.
Top class, simple clear advice that works! Preparing my large house for sale that has a brick weave area at the front that is in view before they press the bell. A good clean front sets the tone, Liam
A nice fresh drive on the estate agents photos does give a good first impression.
Looks fantastic! Well done!
Very professional 👍
Something almost therapeutic about watching this, nice one!
HI
I agree!
Very simple and practical. Thank you.
About the only video on youtube that shows the PROPER way to do this job. Nice.
Thank you
Great video, thanks for the information.
This video is fantastic. Really helped me do my drive.
It really is a messy job 😂
But it looks great. 29 degrees tomorrow. Perfect for the kiln sand to go down. Thanks again
Good luck. It is unusually warm this week, perfect.
Great work and great video. Block paving is a dirty job, but always looks spot on when cleaned and sanded properly! 👏
Turbo nozzle all the way, I’ve just finished a block paved driveway, ready for sanding, great vid cheers, I might do a short vid tomorrow myself
That's what I call a beautiful job well done thanks
You don't have to toss sand away which did get a little moist. Use it on a sunny warmer day, spread it roughly out and you will be astonished how fast is becomes back to its "kilm dryed state".
for a novice like me ... absolutely on the money ! thank you
Simply Superb..with very clear instructions..thanks so much sharing!!
Thanks for the video👍helped a lot for my first job👍
blueliontime Thank you, glad it helped.

great video. Thank you. Now I need to purchase a turbo nozzle.
Great Video. I've watched a lot of your videos and your always informative. The best teacher of. Block Paving I've seen.
Did what you said and driveway looks like new again. Thanks for making the video, great help.
Thank you, glad it helped.
How long did it stay looking great? How many times in the 6 years have you had to repeat it?
Amazing. Went out to find a rotary noozle immediately. Great presentation Thanks
Your welcome, they are bloody handy tools.
Crap I couldn’t stop watching. The dirt that came off was incredible. I now realise I need my drive way doing.
Great videos. Helped me clean ca. 100sq m block pave driveway. Would be good to see some additional videos on how to deal with oil stains (cleaning with turbo nozzle doesn't help at all as one might expect) without replacing blocks.
Paweł Halicki hey, I haven't done an oil stain removing video as they are a nightmare to shift properly. I haven't found a 100% removal method without replacing blocks. It really all depends how long the oil has been down. Even on specific oil removing products it normally says for best results use within a few days of spill. Most of the stains we come across have been down months or years. You will normally remove the dirty colour by using some good ol fairy liquid and then hitting with a turbo nozzle. Resiblock OR is pretty good if the oil stain is recent. Other than that the oil soaks into the block to far to make any serious difference. I would say that there will always be a visible mark left as the blocks are quite thick and oil can penetrate quite deep over time. I bet if I true doing a video of the removal wouldn't work lol. Phill
I find for more recent oil stains you can use cat litter, crush it in to the stain and replace a couple of times soaks it up prety good. Then wash.
Thanks for the advice
What a great job.. well done and rhanks for sharing.. Greetings 👍
Just finished doing my driveway (8/4/2020) and yes all block paving, what an absolute mess. Well worth looking at it when all completed and very rewarding to look at but hope I won't have to go through all that again. Just lift the lot, Tar it, job completed No more mess. Happy days. :o) :o)
If you applied a decent sealer you wouldn't loose the sand next time. It will also help against weeds. Next time will be a simple clean, spray some swimming pool grade chlorine bleach on beforehand and it practically cleans it for you.
@@DirtyDriveAway which sealer do you recommend and do you use this before sanding or after?
@@leewalker9008 something like smartseal is easier to use than a polyurethane such as resiblock. Resiblock will last longer but is very finicky with weather. You clean it, wait 5-7days (no rain 48hrs prior to and 12hrs after application) sand it and seal same day. Make sure the sand is brushed in and swept off really well.
Why not get your husband to do it...?
Pressure washing will clean the driveway, but it’s hard on the blocks.
Equivalent to about five years normal weathering of the blocks each time it’s done.
Great video! Job well done!
Excellent video ,thanks for sharing.
Holy crap that was dirty as hell. Great job cleaning up that crap.
xinlaw27 thanks.
xinlaw27 eee
I find table salt stops weeds and moss 100% for at least eight months. Only 80p per 3 kg bag from tescos . I just sprinkle it liberally and then lightly sprinkle with the hose so the grains can just sit in the cracks and slowly dissolve through the winter. No need for weedkiller.
A lot of weeds are acidic so that wont always work
Top man. Looks fantastic 😃
Great video and advice thank you
CZcams algorithm brings us all together once again 🤷🏽♂️📈
Hi thanks for the info !! What size van is big enough to carry tools and a bit of water ?? And whats a decent washer ??
Glitch King Glitch King hi, you can spend hours researching washers. Ideally something with a good engine like honda or briggs, a good interpump pump and gearbox. You would ideally need something around 200bar+ that kicks out around 18lpm+ it really depends on your budget. A 200bar 18lpm machine will come in around £1600 ish. Go up in pressure and you will be looking around £2200, but go 250bar and 23lpm will set you back around £3000. Van size i have a LWB transit connect and i can get a 400l tank and all my gear in. Anything smaller and it just wont fit a water tank in as it wont be long enough or have the payload to carry the washer and water plus hoses etc. Phill
Dirty Drive-Away thanks phil
I just bought a gs 200 Honda unbelievable
@@myCZcamsChannel31 I do this pressure cleaning myself along with actually fitting new driveways. I just connect to the clients tap, they don't seem to mind. Also, for anyone that is interested. I myself use a Honda Pressure washer, they cost around 1,400 and are ideal for this sort of work.
a massive transformation
Brilliant I tried and it was great.
Where can you get these nozzles from, and do they fit onto a Karcher?
Karcher make their own version called a dirt blaster I think. They OK but you will be there a very long time doing block paving with a portable washer.
Karchers version, I have used one. But not on block paving. The nozzle I use is either a Suttner or PA but don't think they can be adapted or won't work on a Karcher as a Karcher isn't powerful enough.

What type of pressure washer should I get?
Dubai actually import sand for construction because their sand in their deserts is the wrong type needed.
correct. So does Kuwait.
I didnt know that.
can they use as aggregate to produce paving blocks or hollow blocks made of concrete?
Well done mate, like the commentary with the video
Excellent instructional video
Hi, we have a lot of hard surface which we clean with a Karcher. Takes ages! Need to replace our equipment in line with yours for a quicker result.
What is the name and model of your equipment, including the turbo nozzle? Thanks
Lorraine Reeves Going from a karcher to what I use would be like going from a mini to a lamborghini lol. I use a zeta, briggs and Stratton engine, the washer alone costs £3000. The Lance I use in the video has a PA turbo nozzle on it. They are not expensive but they won't work on a Karcher. It would be cheaper to have a professional maintain it for you.
Good video. Beware cowboys who come round and say they'll do all this in a day - no point using kiln dried sand if the blocks and the sand underneath are still damp.
Too true.
Thank You Thank You very much 🙏
Very very Good Method I like it👍❤️
What a fantastic video! thanks to you my first patio cleaning went superb cheers mate
Glad it was of some help. It might be old but it's a popular video.
Thanks, a very good video. Love and Respect from London and Pakistan 🇵🇰

Thank you so much for the info. I've got a large brick driveway its filty right now i plan on cleaning it once we get some warm sun your inf is great looking forward to following your advise. I'm an 88 year old woman . I have a good power washer will pick up the nozzle you recomend . Thanks again.
I like this video i used the dry sand method as well
Excellent job 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Excellent video, clear and concise and to the point. Great to see a professional doing it, I find it's the cleaning of the sludge a pain in my arse, just ordered my turbo nozzle and 20mts of high pressure hose for my 207cc machine, hopefully it should get the job done. Great tip about the sand. Thanks
The sludge is horrid, I scrape it up into polypropylene bags. Any difficult areas then I use a specialist wet vac.
@@DirtyDriveAway would you seal after, any point?
@@jacobthebear problem with sealing is the bloody weather. Yea it can help with weeds etc but doing it properly is expensive. Spraying with a good sprayer is best to ensure good joint penetration but at a sacrifice of using additional product. In this day and age where everything is silly money its not very cost effective. Looks nice and does really help weeds but by the time you add on that cost most customers refuse. It can be a Ballache because it needs to be fully dry or it won't set properly and can leave white blooms. Typically sealer company's recommend 5-7days after cleaning. As a professional cleaner in honesty it probably costs me money as I inevitably have to turn other work away or it puts me under pressure if the weather turns to get it done.
Very helpful thanks 👍
Great video,thanks
Fantastic video! I am about to do a driveway a little larger than that one. Thank you so much for a great video

Nice job!!!!
Great video . Really appreciate it

Great Job Well Done 😉
stevier100 thank you.
Nice job.
Thanks for this, My drive is a mess but you have given me lots of professional advice on this video. I paid for the drive to be done but as you say the dry sand just blew out because it wasn't misted in. Next time I will be more aware of what to expect. well done.
Barbara Sweeney thank you barbara. If your having problems with sand loss it may be worth considering either a cheap sealer to stabilise it or use a polymeric jointing sand such as Resifix. Phill
hello pal were are you based ,hope you in the area looking to get the drive refurbished ,I am based in Birmingham,I have got a few car oil marks ,if you can do the job please reply and we can get the driveway sorted
