- Sharing the process of my oil painting "Solace," a portrait with realistic water which took over 2 years to finally finish.
I am an artist residing in sunny, warm [humid] florida! My paintings are heavily inspired by nature and its beauty. I work primarily in oil paint, and sometimes watercolor. I prefer to work in a mostly realistic style and occasionally experiment outside of that. I post oil painting time lapses, painting lessons and tutorials, drawings, art tips, and occasionally artist vlogs where I share bits of my life as an artist. Creating art is my greatest passion and I'm thankful for the chance to share it with you. ♥

@Jenna Jobasia u obv do not understand art. art can be anything. carictuartes, abstract, realism, etc...
@jenna
You're that kind of people who'll spend millions on a meaningless shitty painting looks like a 5 years old kid's drawing and calling it " deep modern art " lol
The fact that you can almost _see_ the scenery around it through the waters reflection is insane. This in incredible!
a work of brilliance for sure, but the subject matter is so corny and mundane.
I agree
@@cagneybillingsley2165 of course, there's always something well done. not big enough, too much sea. No sharks, and Tits not visible.
@@cagneybillingsley2165 someone's jealous
Now this is what I call art, not that paint splattering and random lines... Fantastic!
I don't get the appeal of realistic painting, especially because of the enormous amounts of time one needs to spend on it. If the original image is already available why would you go through all the trouble of trying to replicate it painstakingly by hand when you can easily take a digital copy of it? I find people who go out into nature and try to paint what they see live more artistic.
@@TheKomentor that's my point though. I wasn't necessarily talking about repainting an already existing picture. My point was that it needs talent to paint this realistically whether it is repainting and already existing picture or from scratch doesn't matter, it's still a talent. But paint splatters on a wall are not a talent... Nor is a banana on a nail in a museum 😂
It depends on the colours and mixtures. Have seen a lot of beautiful abstract pieces. If you’re talking about drawing one straight line down a canvas or something equivalent, then yes, I agree.
@@xKiLLzZx1 I think art isn't just about skill but about the emotions and feelings they portray. Those paintings with splatters might seem like just splatters to most people but there's a reason why it's the way it is. There's more to it than what meets the eye.
@@elijahsmall5873 well some people call a banana taped to the wall "art" and sell it for thousands... That's not art, that's just stupid

At your age and already a great painter making money from it. I think you're truly amazing.

Wow, maybe you should try going to an art gallery some time...
Im kinda tired of the comments that are like “Oh this isn’t hard, I could’ve done this in 15 days” or “You should use big brushes and put down big blobs and then add detail with smaller ones”. The first one is just straight up rude and has nothing to do with the video. like, you can do it faster? Good for you. And the second is just irritating for some reason. Like i get if you’re trying to be helpful and this is maybe good advise for someone. But the artist in this video obviously has a lot of experience when it comes to painting, so she’s probably already developed a way of painting that fits her the best. A lot of my friends only use small brushes when painting since they like to put in a lot of details.
Sorry if tis is rude, I just think that people should think twice before commenting :/
I agree. This painting and experience for her is not about you and how quickly you could've (probably) gotten it done. She told you WHY it took her 2 years. She isn't competing or bragging. I agree with your comment
I haven't seen a single comment like that.

It's people like this who I admire. The time, effort, and dedication is just absurd and look at the end product, definitely the best artwork I’ve ever seen.
I am just so impressed how it's not photo-realistic, painted with single-hair brushes and a microscope... yet chunks of colour **become** photo-realistic really quickly. I love how you made that happen. A blob of blue, yellow, brown here, a touch of white there: bingo! Those **are** waves in the sea. Breathtaking, really. Thank you.
I still don't get how people can do something like this without an eraser.

I just wanted to point out something I noticed a lot of these comments saying. A lot of people are saying things like, "wow she's so talented! I can't even draw a straight line!" Of course, the artist is extremely talented, but it's not just talent that makes a good painting. It also takes a lot of hard work and dedication. A lot of the time, you have to wait really long for the paint to dry, so you also need a lot of patience. This is an extraordinarily beautiful painting, but it's not just talent that went into it. It's also a lot of practice, patience, and dedication.
That's very true....only the artist knows how much effort and dedication has been put into it
