Christi and the other mother’s were always right. Maddie ALWAYS had the best solo choreography. Abby would always “it’s not the choreography, it’s the performance” like maybe I would perform better if one move didn’t account for a whole 8 count. She did them so dirty
Honestly, ever since Abby said in season 8 "I never wanted Chloe to win and she'd win all the time" only made me value Chloe's talent even more because Abby always gave her the worst choreography out of the two (Chloe and Maddie) and barely gave her the time of a day in rehearsals so yeah, Chloe was amazing. Not taking Maddie's credits out of course because she was also amazing and tbh I think Abby was just as mean to her but not the same way... Like, she would put an INSANE amount of pressure on an eight year old and then that was the time when Abby made Maddie cry because of her mom's actions and that was SO manipulative it's ridiculous how this woman still get away with stuff like this.
Chloe was one of my favs bc she was rlly good but wasn’t cocky where maddie was rlly good but was always bragging about her talent and her mom and Abby kept puffing up her ego. Whenever Chloe lost she was slightly upset but was always happy for Maddie where Maddie would say she deserved to win and would cry.
@@rachaeld956 I learned to understand Maddie. She was a child and kids are reflections of the people who surround them. People would tell her all the time she was the best so she thought it was okay to think and SAY that she was the best. But if you open your heart and mind to actually see Maddie, she was always so sweet to the girls. When Chloe forgot her "Another Season" solo, Maddie was backstage and tried to make her feel better. And so she did with Nia and Paige (those are the ones I can remember Maddie comforting). Also, the show was heavily edited and sometimes the producers would tell kids to say stuff for the cameras. Such a horrible environment.
@@rachaeld956 I have many evidence that proves you are wrong 1.Maddie is influenced on the adults around her, via abby and melissa how both told her she was perfection and the best. 2.In early seasons producers told kids what to say and wouldn't let them leave until they said it, abby and kalani mentioned this in a meet and greet. Compare maddies early seasons interviews to season 4, in season 4 she has more fun with it while in early seasons it seems like she forgets what to say and stumbles upon her words. 3.Maddie was meant to portrayed as the brat, it was her role and the fandom isn't helping. People are dragging maddie for being the favourite which is wrong 4.Watermelon game: She got hurt, her words sound edited and i dont think she said "nia did it" besides, later in the episode you see a scrape on the bottom of her knee when she is practicing . 5.When chole claims maddie lied to her in one of the episodes, producers tell the cast to not tell other members of the cast so it looks as real as possible, i highly doubt maddie lied, i dont even think she knew. 6.Many episodes maddie has been put in by abby to make it look like abby didnt trust chole or mackenzie or whoever to win, but many comps they go to don't allow people to be pulled or added in the last 24 hours before comp, and regardless, when mackenzie is performing you see maddie in the background in her costume and headpiece. 7.The show potrays her as a turner, like chole, but in reality she is def a leaper! Its like comparing choles leaps to maddies! Its a shame because maddies turns in early seasons werent as good as choles so it made her seem her strongest point was weak, when in reality she was a leaper! And her amazing leaps (2nd best in the show honestly) get overshadowed by her turns 8.Tbh i forgot which season (im pretty sure season 4 when she goes against kalani) she fell out of her turns, which she rarely does and she is shown crying in the bathroom. Omg this is so staged, the crying sounds like a grown woman, you see maddie in the background from a mirror when she is "crying", there are sinks outside the bathroom and not in the "bathroom"? I think that room goes to the hallway Maddie has been set up so many times, she is friends with chole, nia, paige etc. She always went backstage to make them feel better, the producers got frustrated that the girls didn't fight with each other and got along. Hence the probably fake maddie and chole drama. Literally people like you frustrate me, i think maddie got some of the worst pressure on the show, she wouldn't be replaced, (not like its abbys choice) maddie is an incredible dancer, from beginning to end. People handle situations differently, some people cry others don't! It doesn't mean they aren't upset. I'm sure chole was upset when she didn't perform well or didn't place first. But maddie didn't really know what it felt like to lose! Blame her mother and abby, don't blame maddie for being an 8 year old. Also EDITING!! Interviews get shortened! They don't choose what they say! Just stop comparing little kids, stop comparing people in general
personally I think it’s unfair that maddie got to do in my heart several times at competition.. all the other girls had forgotten a solo by that point and they didn’t get to do it again-

That was 100% orchestrated by the producers for drama. It's heartbreaking because 1. the competitions runners actually offered to give Maddie a second shot. Maddie beg to do it and Abby refused, saying she was the dance teacher and she made the final decision. 2. After that, Maddie's confidence was destroyed (first messing up, and then Abby not showing faith that she could do it) and she was forced to do it again or be punished over and over until she did. Either the producers said Maddie couldn't get a second shot at the same competition like Nia did, and Abby fought for her to have another chance. Or (what I think it is), Abby didn't want Maddie to get a second shot and the producers made it so she had to.
I personally thought that Maestro Man was more entertaining. I see why Chloe actually scored higher though, Maddie messed up and slipped on one of her aerials.
I like Chloe's dancing because her face (especially in the older seasons) wasn't so forced. Also she's just a great dancer and she totally should have won some of those!!!
I genuinely think the reason people praise Maddie's face over Chloe's is literally their face structure. Maddie has BIG features. She has big eyes, a wide smile with big teeth. She doesn't have to emote much for it to show on her face. When you're on stage you really have to make big facial features so that people in the back can see it as well. Chloe has a more delicate face, so she has to make bigger, more exaggerated faces in comparison to Maddie and when she doesn't it seems like she's not emoting as much. Maddie really only has two faces that she makes but any sort of emotion she puts on her face is clear and exaggerated in a way that other people have to work for.
this is in fact true especially sense chloe had a problem with her eye causing it to be lower making it harder to express facials but she still did phenomenal with her face all the time
Agreed although Maddie knows how to better use her face to bring any performancy to life, Chloe kinda did but not really to make a performance come to life.
Looking back at these solos and let me just say 1. Chloe’s facials were really hit or miss! As much as I’d like to think “ohhh she just had subtle facials” compared to maddie, they were VERY subtle BUT most times she just wouldn’t emote. 2. I’ve always thought that the show’s competitions were staged in SOME way but looking back I can see that the producers had a lot more power in who won. Cause I’ve seen some Chloe solos that were leaps ahead of Maddie’s BUT Maddie still would come out on top.
Omg #2 yes! The most glaring one for me would be when Maddie’s “They’ll Never Change” supposedly beat Chloe’s “About Mother”. Maddie didn’t do a bad job, but that particular solo was too easy for her and was kind of boring to watch, but Chloe NAILED her solo and it was difficult!
i think the big difference between maddie and chloe is that maddie is good because of the training and special attention she received from abby, but chloe is good all on her own. maddie’s choreography was always better, but somehow chloe still won a lot of the time even though she wasn’t receiving the same level of training and practice. any of the girls could have danced “like maddie” if abby treated them the same, but none could ever dance “like chloe” because she uses natural talent.

In season 8, there was a deleted scene saying that Abby basically changed the scores whenever Maddie or Chloe are competing head to head. And no joke that Abby choreographs Maddie's solos better than Chloe's. Imo whenever I see Chlo dance, she makes it look light and natural. When I see Maddie dance, her face is amazing, but it feels unnecessary and overboard. They are both two different people, but the way Abby wanted to treat and hurt these children is disgusting.
this is kinda unrelated to the video, but here’s a concept: i wish abby assigned each girl a solo that maddie has done in the past, with the exact same choreography, and everyone could’ve seen who was actually the best on the team. who knows, one of them could’ve done it better than maddie did originally.
Why is it that whenever Maddie and Chloe are compared people always say that Chloe is better Maddie just got better choreography can't it just be that both Maddie and Chloe are great dancers and there's no need to compare them or hate on any one of them

As a dancer myself I’d say that Maddie and Chloe and Maddie were the same level but Maddie won more bc she got better costumes and choreography don’t get me wrong Chloe had some awesome dances like baby mine silence and dream on a star but there nothing compared to what Maddie got!
now that you put it in comparison, the dances chloe got and the choreography given was terrible. maddie had such a big advantage. chloe's chance at winning was stolen from her time after time again
I love this video!!! I think it’s a fair ranking and shows how the show robbed Chloe. Not taking anything away from Maddie.. she is a stunning, beautiful, emotional dancer. But she wasn’t the only one. It’s heartbreaking that the show and Abby made Chloe out to be a 2nd string dancer, when clearly, she was not. I really hate that the show killed their passion for dance and their confidence in themselves
One thing however, is when Maddie “uses emotion” it’s that same face that makes it feel angry, happy, or sad all at once. And when she doesn’t use that face, I feel she emotes TOO much to the point where she just becomes tense. versus Chloe, she doesn’t use emotion as much, but still a lot. And when she does, it matches the theme and isn’t too strong. My opinion tho :)
I don't know if I just notice this cause I dance but Maddie falls out of every turn so that is why she always does things to exit the turn. But Kendall and Chloe two of the best turners on the show have to land their turns every time which makes the probability of a clean turn less. Also, every single turn Maddie does is so wound up... it drives me insane.
In the "You can be anything" solos that Maddie and Chloe had competed Maddie did a frount aerial while Chloe only did a side which is considered less difficult and less points
The biggest difference between Chloe and Maddie is the fluidity of the movements. Chloe was a good dancer, BUT she made a lot of the moves look very difficult and tense. When Maddie dances, she flows through the choreography and moves like it’s nothing. Yes, Maddie was also messy in certain solos and Chloe was more fluid in certain solos, but overall I’d rather watch Maddie dance.
i went back to watching some Dance Moms dances and I can't believe how I didn't realize how bad everyone else's solos were compared to Maddie's solos why did she hate the others so much 😐
Y’all I think Maddie had WAY better technique then Chloe. She started later then most of the other girls, and her facials were amazing! (And better than Chloe’s imo). The moms were always jealous and Christi did hate Maddie. Seriously, maddie was told that no one would ever be happy for her. Chloe deserved better but Maddie was the better dancer. IMO
all of the girls were amazing dancers. imagine if they got better training and weren't in a toxic environment, they would be phenomenal. i mean they were little girls and had great turns and were doing things like aerials and back handsprings!
For everyone saying Chloe always has worse choreography: Maddie was capable of more difficult choreography. Both of them were occasionally set up to lose. I would personally put in for the thrill and trouble above Maddie’s solos but I still loved the video! Also in the season 4 match up with Mackenzie (follow you, cry, and me and you against the world [I think]) I would’ve put Chloe ahead of Maddie :)
Moral of the story, Maddie was the dominant one in the rivalry. 😅 Only exceptions Ma He’s Making Eyes at Me should’ve beaten Beautiful. It was cleaner because she’d already performed it. And Unchained should’ve won the category.
I feel like Maddie emotions make up for her technique, because Chloe does have the better technique than Maddie, Maddie has good technique but better emotion which can distract the people judging to make up for a mistake in technique
My opinion no one asked for First I just want to say (In my eyes) preferring a dance and a dance deserving to win are 2 COMPLETELY different things. Wins, from the competition sites I've read, are 45-75 percent based on technique, and then, when you combine choreo with technique and musicality, it about 85-95 percent of the score where as preference has many factors. (For example, Fate deserved the win, but I prefer Lucky Star.) Ok, let's get on with it lol- 1. Maddie. I love tap and it was not chloe's day 2. Chloe. She had better facials and technique 3. Maddie. We saw 7 seconds of chloe's solo, so I prefer Maddie today 4. Maddie. Well chloe forgot hers and maddie's was her best solo this season- 5. Chloe. I really didn't like Maddie's solo this week, so I prefer Chloe 6. Both. I like them both about the same 7. Chloe. The raven is my favorite season 2 solo, and maddie's was just basic early Maddie lyrical 8. Chloe. I remember nothing about all of my life and send down your love is great if you watch Christi's recording 9.Chloe (Preferred) Maddie (Should've won)- I didn't like either solo, but I like watercolors fade more. I personally consider Maddie to be a better dancer because she improved so much so quickly. She started dancing a lot later than most of the other girls on the team and would stay day and night to work harder to become better. Everything she got she deserved and worked for. I just wish that the other girls could have received similar opportunities.
Maddie was the better dancer because she received privates and more attention and the better choreography which showcased her talents a lot more than Chloe's did to her.
But it was stated that chloe didn’t even get the chance to because of the producer. Everything she got she did not deserve a lot of the stuff she got was handed to her.
i kinda disagree with some of the people here saying maddie was only good bcos she got extra attention from abby. honestly, when watching her performances, i can confidently say that she wouldve still excelled at dancing even without abby's extra assistance. there is just something abt maddie that screams "performer" and she just has this natural vibe to her moves. Sure she couldve developed better technique but all of the girls had decent technique yet she just stands out. What im trying to pinpoint is that whatever maddie has is something not even the greatest dance teacher could teach. and FOR ME, she really was one of aldc's best dancers.
i would honestly have to disagree we rarely caught maddie doing anything else then "pretty little lyrical" in fact theres proof that maddie danced about 45 solos that were lyrical and 11 that were everything other then that so tap jazz etc. she did the same choreography just mixed up every single time and that's a FACT. yet i do think she's a great dancer i think she did the same thing all the time and it became kinda boring and she never really excelled at any other theme besides maybe tap and i also think it was clear maddie was starting to no longer enjoy it as kelly said abby burnt the favorite out it was brooke before maddie and kelly before brooke. so on top of doing the same five 8 counts 45 times and being praised and getting extra attention better costumes better choreography and more privates i would say it was just the favoritism. chloe succeeded on her OWN through herself, and that's why she won the teens choice over maddie. She had the feet the technique the legs the lines and the emotions. I would say maddie's emotions were bigger considering her facial features are bigger then chloe's making it easier to yk present emotion. and when abby brought knew people maddie was never the one being challenged it was chloe and she would almost always beat her opponents. ALSO notice how when abby gave them the same choreography chloe won and abby paid the judges off or the producers did which is no suprise but even watching the solos they simply don't compare maddie messed up her turns and your meaning to tell me she beat her and how tf would they be the only one with the wrong scores like cmon chloe def won.
It always has to Do with preference. For example i just enjoy maddies dancing more than chloes. Not because of the talent but really because of what was more pleasing to watch

I agree so much most of with these! What I don't agree with is, Another Season, (because that solo had so much potential if she didn't forget it), In For The Thrill, (because her ballet steps were executed pretty well for her age!), Dont Leave Me, (the emotion was executed SO well i can't even-), THANKKS FOR LISTENING👹💞
A lot of the time Maddie wasn’t in the same age division And another thing I see a lot of people saying Maddie got all good choreo and Chloe got nothing really but most of her solos were good both techno and choreographically not all but most of them and she got solos frequently bc she was always Abby’s number two dancer even in s4 when she disliked her mother the most she still got some good solos and good choreo. Maddie almost always got the winning solos but sometimes Abby did her wrong like when she got the entertainer, lights camera action, in my heart( the choreo was repetitive but was good and Abby knew Maddie wasn’t ready to compete it yet and had a full blown panic attack). She always got repetitive solos tho they suited her they were quite watered down especially in season 5/6 Maddie got more mature and was capable of more than aldc choreo she could do club dance/ mdp choreo just look at the wood/ vertigo/the peoples choice even the hostage was a little better (tho it was a story telling and performance piece you can see Maddie’s technique improved and her control and fluidity aswell and leg strength and facials. She often got the same pretty lyrical or just the lyrical type dance even tho she was versatile and well rounded and that’s all people think she can do but if u watch her tap solos or more upbeat solos you’ll see her facials the way she hits every beat she beams with energy and sass. Another thing I see is Chloe is way better than Maddie or Maddie is just an average dancer or overrated yeah Abby overrated her but the fandom doesn’t overhype her as much as they used to . And of course Chloe was better she’s a natural born ballerina which focuses on technique feet turns and grace. And she’s a natural turner unlike Maddie . Also Chloe has the idle ballet body and is born for ballet and should’ve been enrolled to Joffrey ballet school. Maddie’s more of a natural performer made for broadway and a natural leaper and has natural flexibility. I’ll say Chloe was more advanced and more mature and graceful aswell as more technical than Maddie bc she was older in seasons 1-2 . But Maddie was a better leaper and acrobat due to her natural flexibility and was a better storyteller and more well round and had more of a connection to the audience.and they were pretty equal in season 3 but season four Maddie improved leaps and bounds. Chloe lost lots of flexibility due to her not training under aldc since season three and was only there for the show and her growth spurt. But she did improve on using her whole body more her lines feet and fluidity got better and she could do more turns and matured more also her facials got better in lyrical and contemporary. She could handle more turns and more advanced turn sequences but her upper body alignment was off in alot of her s4 turns and her releve was noticeably lower than what it had been and toward the end of s4 she flat footed and bobbled a few of her turns coming out of a turn sequence and her leaps were noticeably stiffer and lacked control and height aswell as flexibility which is her biggest issue. Maddie had shocked me by her improvement she gained more control she flowed with the music more this season(4) she finished her moves more creating longer and gorgeous lines which was a big problem of hers in the earlier seasons she lost almost all her back flexibility but gained more leg flexibility and was more fluid her turns were fabulous and her variety and her amount had increased alot like Chloe’s did. Her releve was always average or medium when doing long turn sequences but in short turns they were high and pretty good overall. And just like Chloe she too had a growth spurt making their lines longer and looked more precise and clean. She also improved on her facials which was another issue the fandom had with her season one facials. Her leaps were always pretty good near flawless bc she had natural leaps and natural flexibility. They both improved a lot season 4. Another’s thing I see is Maddie only won bc the storyline of her solos or costume music or choreo while it is true for the most part she also was a great story teller and had great technique and lots of potential. I wish Chloe went to a ballet school just look at her lines her feet grace turns sweet innocence and love for ballet or a more advanced studio.( she went to studio 19 but then left not that long after and studio 19 focuses on acrobatics and technique). For Maddie I wish she left the show/ team if she could’ve sooner(they had very strict contracts and had to do a certain amount of seasons for them to leave without being sued by life time) she improved a lot especially in 4-6 she gained more control in her leaps and legs aswell as turns and turnout and was dancing with club dance dancers kalani and brynn who pushed her technically and she pushed them emotionally that’s why I wish she went to train at club dance bc she got to good for Abby’s choreo and Abby not Gianna couldn’t choreograph for her really except in( vertigo and the woods and the peoples choice didn’t even look like aldc choreo it look like something club dance brynn would do with a little less turns and more leg extensions). I think she would’ve improved rapidly going to a studio that focuses on every aspect of technique flexibility and grace and I think Chloe would’ve done well there aswell or at a ballet school Chloe also got advanced and if she stayed Chloe would’ve regressed a bunch more instead of just loosing flexibility. And we wouldn’t have see. When people say Maddie had better choreography it’s still what you do with that choreography. Lots of the moves that Maddie did Chloe would not have nailed in her solos. Here is my opinion on each of these! :) 1) Acapella. Chloe stumbled on her turns and Maddie just had clear taps and better choreography. Acapella did also have boring moments though imo. 2) Parlez moi. Chloe was much more entertaining, and although Maddie had a pretty solo, most of it was turns. 3) angel. We barely saw anything of different bodies, so we don’t have much to judge on. Also angel has made me cry before. 4) Manhattan. Chloe forgot and froze, and the choreo that we saw of Another Season was plain. The turns were good though. 5) I also can’t pick 😂. Lights Camera Action was refreshing to see Maddie do something different, and don’t catch me was also amazing. 6) again, I can’t pick. Maddie kept going after she fell, it was just edited to make it seem like she ran off, and even if In for the thrill wasn’t actually ballet, it still was close enough and very good. 7) I’m already there. The raven told a story, but I’m very picky when it comes to dark dances, and I’m already there was very pretty. 8) all of my life. Chloe bobbled on her turns A LOT and all of my life was generally cleaner. 9) Watercolors fade. I’m prepared to get a butt ton of backlash for this, but even though Chloe forgot a part, I still love the solo. Quiet voices was also amazing though. 10) Red queen. Chloe’s improv was amazing, and Maddie forgot, so. 11) Unchained. I love this solo so much, it’s in my top five chloe solos easily. 12) LFAPCH. What goes around had poor choreo, and I think Maddie was better in terms of performance. 13) Trouble. It didn’t have bland or amazing choreo, it was the kind of simple choreo that Chloe turned into something special. Chloe’s turns were amazing. 14) Ghost. Do I even need to explain? I will anyway. Three words. Chloe. Was. Robbed. That is a hill I will die on. 15) I can’t choose. Silence and Telling Myself both had amazing emotion and technique, I just can’t choose. 16) Nobody’s Perfect. Unpopular opinion warning, I hate Don’t Leave Me. 17) I’m trying. I like AIHTS, but I personally like I’m trying a teensy bit better. 18) About Mother. Chloe did stumble on her turns, but They’ll never change had bland choreo. 19) My Obsession. It’s the same thing with Nobody’s Perfect, and Don’t Leave Me. I hate I’m On My Way. 20) You can. Maddie rushed and fell out of her turns, and Chloe actually won irl, the scores were changed for drama. 21) YAMATW. Really Abby? That’s your excuse for hip hop? At least it’s better than Don’t Take My Fire. 22) Come To The Cabaret. Friday Night was entertaining, and Chloe played off horrible choreography well, but Come To The Cabaret was undoubtly better. Honestly, ever since Abby said in season 8 "I never wanted Chloe to win and she'd win all the time" only made me value Chloe's talent even more because Abby always gave her the worst choreography out of the two (Chloe and Maddie) and barely gave her the time of a day in rehearsals so yeah, Chloe was amazing. Not taking Maddie's credits out of course because she was also amazing and tbh I think Abby was just as mean to her but not the same way... Like, she would put an INSANE amount of pressure on an eight year old and then that was the time when Abby made Maddie cry because of her mom's actions and that was SO manipulative it's ridiculous how this woman still get away with stuff like this.
Chloe was one of my favs bc she was rlly good but wasn’t cocky where maddie was rlly good but was always bragging about her talent and her mom and Abby kept puffing up her ego. Whenever Chloe lost she was slightly upset but was always happy for Maddie where Maddie would say she deserved to win and would cry.

People would tell her all the time she was the best so she thought it was okay to think and SAY that she was the best. But if you open your heart and mind to actually see Maddie, she was always so sweet to the girls. When Chloe forgot her "Another Season" solo, Maddie was backstage and tried to make her feel better. And so she did with Nia and Paige (those are the ones I can remember Maddie comforting). Also, the show was heavily edited and sometimes the producers would tell kids to say stuff for the cameras. Such a horrible environment.

1.Maddie is influenced on the adults around her, via abby and melissa how both told her she was perfection and the best.
2.In early seasons producers told kids what to say and wouldn't let them leave until they said it, abby and kalani mentioned this in a meet and greet. Compare maddies early seasons interviews to season 4, in season 4 she has more fun with it while in early seasons it seems like she forgets what to say and stumbles upon her words.
3.Maddie was meant to portrayed as the brat, it was her role and the fandom isn't helping. People are dragging maddie for being the favourite which is wrong
4.Watermelon game: She got hurt, her words sound edited and i dont think she said "nia did it" besides, later in the episode you see a scrape on the bottom of her knee when she is practicing .
5.When chole claims maddie lied to her in one of the episodes, producers tell the cast to not tell other members of the cast so it looks as real as possible, i highly doubt maddie lied, i dont even think she knew.
6.Many episodes maddie has been put in by abby to make it look like abby didnt trust chole or mackenzie or whoever to win, but many comps they go to don't allow people to be pulled or added in the last 24 hours before comp, and regardless, when mackenzie is performing you see maddie in the background in her costume and headpiece.
7.The show potrays her as a turner, like chole, but in reality she is def a leaper! Its like comparing choles leaps to maddies! Its a shame because maddies turns in early seasons werent as good as choles so it made her seem her strongest point was weak, when in reality she was a leaper! And her amazing leaps (2nd best in the show honestly) get overshadowed by her turns
8.Tbh i forgot which season (im pretty sure season 4 when she goes against kalani) she fell out of her turns, which she rarely does and she is shown crying in the bathroom. Omg this is so staged, the crying sounds like a grown woman, you see maddie in the background from a mirror when she is "crying", there are sinks outside the bathroom and not in the "bathroom"? I think that room goes to the hallway
Maddie has been set up so many times, she is friends with chole, nia, paige etc. She always went backstage to make them feel better, the producers got frustrated that the girls didn't fight with each other and got along. Hence the probably fake maddie and chole drama. Literally people like you frustrate me, i think maddie got some of the worst pressure on the show, she wouldn't be replaced, (not like its abbys choice) maddie is an incredible dancer, from beginning to end. People handle situations differently, some people cry others don't! It doesn't mean they aren't upset. I'm sure chole was upset when she didn't perform well or didn't place first. But maddie didn't really know what it felt like to lose! Blame her mother and abby, don't blame maddie for being an 8 year old. Also EDITING!! Interviews get shortened! That was 100% orchestrated by the producers for drama. It's heartbreaking because 1. the competitions runners actually offered to give Maddie a second shot. Maddie beg to do it and Abby refused, saying she was the dance teacher and she made the final decision. 2. After that, Maddie's confidence was destroyed (first messing up, and then Abby not showing faith that she could do it) and she was forced to do it again or be punished over and over until she did.
Either the producers said Maddie couldn't get a second shot at the same competition like Nia did, and Abby fought for her to have another chance. Or (what I think it is), Abby didn't want Maddie to get a second shot and the producers made it so she had to.

I genuinely think the reason people praise Maddie's face over Chloe's is literally their face structure. Maddie has BIG features. She has big eyes, a wide smile with big teeth. She doesn't have to emote much for it to show on her face. When you're on stage you really have to make big facial features so that people in the back can see it as well. Chloe has a more delicate face, so she has to make bigger, more exaggerated faces in comparison to Maddie and when she doesn't it seems like she's not emoting as much. Maddie really only has two faces that she makes but any sort of emotion she puts on her face is clear and exaggerated in a way that other people have to work for.

Agreed although Maddie knows how to better use her face to bring any performancy to life, Chloe kinda did but not really to make a performance come to life.
Looking back at these solos and let me just say
1. Chloe’s facials were really hit or miss! As much as I’d like to think “ohhh she just had subtle facials” compared to maddie, they were VERY subtle BUT most times she just wouldn’t emote.
2. I’ve always thought that the show’s competitions were staged in SOME way but looking back I can see that the producers had a lot more power in who won. Cause I’ve seen some Chloe solos that were leaps ahead of Maddie’s BUT Maddie still would come out on top.

The most glaring one for me would be when Maddie’s “They’ll Never Change” supposedly beat Chloe’s “About Mother”. Maddie didn’t do a bad job, but that particular solo was too easy for her and was kind of boring to watch, but Chloe NAILED her solo and it was difficult!

i think the big difference between maddie and chloe is that maddie is good because of the training and special attention she received from abby, but chloe is good all on her own. maddie’s choreography was always better, but somehow chloe still won a lot of the time even though she wasn’t receiving the same level of training and practice. any of the girls could have danced “like maddie” if abby treated them the same, but none could ever dance “like chloe” because she uses natural talent.

In season 8, there was a deleted scene saying that Abby basically changed the scores whenever Maddie or Chloe are competing head to head. And no joke that Abby choreographs Maddie's solos better than Chloe's. Imo whenever I see Chlo dance, she makes it look light and natural. When I see Maddie dance, her face is amazing, but it feels unnecessary and overboard. They are both two different people, but the way Abby wanted to treat and hurt these children is disgusting.

As a dancer myself I’d say that Maddie and Chloe and Maddie were the same level but Maddie won more bc she got better costumes and choreography don’t get me wrong Chloe had some awesome dances like baby mine silence and dream on a star but there nothing compared to what Maddie got!

now that you put it in comparison, the dances chloe got and the choreography given was terrible. maddie had such a big advantage. chloe's chance at winning was stolen from her time after time again
I love this video!!! I think it’s a fair ranking and shows how the show robbed Chloe. Not taking anything away from Maddie.. she is a stunning, beautiful, emotional dancer. But she wasn’t the only one. It’s heartbreaking that the show and Abby made Chloe out to be a 2nd string dancer, when clearly, she was not. I really hate that the show killed their passion for dance and their confidence in themselves
One thing however, is when Maddie “uses emotion” it’s that same face that makes it feel angry, happy, or sad all at once. And when she doesn’t use that face, I feel she emotes TOO much to the point where she just becomes tense. versus Chloe, she doesn’t use emotion as much, but still a lot. And when she does, it matches the theme and isn’t too strong. My opinion tho :)
I understand, but I suggest you go check out her season 5 + 6 solos - the emotions there are so much more natural and it's just pleasing to look at
I don't know if I just notice this cause I dance but Maddie falls out of every turn so that is why she always does things to exit the turn. But Kendall and Chloe two of the best turners on the show have to land their turns every time which makes the probability of a clean turn less. Also, every single turn Maddie does is so wound up... it drives me insane.

In the "You can be anything" solos that Maddie and Chloe had competed Maddie did a frount aerial while Chloe only did a side which is considered less difficult and less points
The biggest difference between Chloe and Maddie is the fluidity of the movements. Chloe was a good dancer, BUT she made a lot of the moves look very difficult and tense. When Maddie dances, she flows through the choreography and moves like it’s nothing. Yes, Maddie was also messy in certain solos and Chloe was more fluid in certain solos, but overall I’d rather watch Maddie dance.

First I just want to say (In my eyes) preferring a dance and a dance deserving to win are 2 COMPLETELY different things. Wins, from the competition sites I've read, are 45-75 percent based on technique, and then, when you combine choreo with technique and musicality, it about 85-95 percent of the score where as preference has many factors.
(For example, Fate deserved the win, but I prefer Lucky Star.)

I personally consider Maddie to be a better dancer because she improved so much so quickly. She started dancing a lot later than most of the other girls on the team and would stay day and night to work harder to become better. Everything she got she deserved and worked for. I just wish that the other girls could have received similar opportunities.
Maddie was the better dancer because she received privates and more attention and the better choreography which showcased her talents a lot more than Chloe's did to her.
But it was stated that chloe didn’t even get the chance to because of the producer. Everything she got she did not deserve a lot of the stuff she got was handed to her.
A lot later? Maddie and Chloe both started dancing when they were 2.

i kinda disagree with some of the people here saying maddie was only good bcos she got extra attention from abby. honestly, when watching her performances, i can confidently say that she wouldve still excelled at dancing even without abby's extra assistance. there is just something abt maddie that screams "performer" and she just has this natural vibe to her moves. Sure she couldve developed better technique but all of the girls had decent technique yet she just stands out. What im trying to pinpoint is that whatever maddie has is something not even the greatest dance teacher could teach. and FOR ME, she really was one of aldc's best dancers.
i would honestly have to disagree we rarely caught maddie doing anything else then "pretty little lyrical" in fact theres proof that maddie danced about 45 solos that were lyrical and 11 that were everything other then that so tap jazz etc. she did the same choreography just mixed up every single time and that's a FACT. yet i do think she's a great dancer i think she did the same thing all the time and it became kinda boring and she never really excelled at any other theme besides maybe tap and i also think it was clear maddie was starting to no longer enjoy it as kelly said abby burnt the favorite out it was brooke before maddie and kelly before brooke. so on top of doing the same five 8 counts 45 times and being praised and getting extra attention better costumes better choreography and more privates i would say it was just the favoritism. chloe succeeded on her OWN through herself, and that's why she won the teens choice over maddie. She had the feet the technique the legs the lines and the emotions. I would say maddie's emotions were bigger considering her facial features are bigger then chloe's making it easier to yk present emotion. and when abby brought knew people maddie was never the one being challenged it was chloe and she would almost always beat her opponents. ALSO notice how when abby gave them the same choreography chloe won and abby paid the judges off or the producers did which is no suprise but even watching the solos they simply don't compare maddie messed up her turns and your meaning to tell me she beat her and how tf would they be the only one with the wrong scores like cmon chloe def won.
But Chloe's technique was better tho. It definitely was Bcs she got more attention and training. She as constantly put down like the other girls.

A lot of the time Maddie wasn’t in the same age division
And another thing I see a lot of people saying Maddie got all good choreo and Chloe got nothing really but most of her solos were good both techno and choreographically not all but most of them and she got solos frequently bc she was always Abby’s number two dancer even in s4 when she disliked her mother the most she still got some good solos and good choreo. Maddie almost always got the winning solos but sometimes Abby did her wrong like when she got the entertainer, lights camera action, in my heart( the choreo was repetitive but was good and Abby knew Maddie wasn’t ready to compete it yet and had a full blown panic attack). She always got repetitive solos tho they suited her they were quite watered down especially in season 5/6 Maddie got more mature and was capable of more than aldc choreo she could do club dance/ mdp choreo just look at the wood/ vertigo/the peoples choice even the hostage was a little better (tho it was a story telling and performance piece you can see Maddie’s technique improved and her control and fluidity aswell and leg strength and facials. She often got the same pretty lyrical or just the lyrical type dance even tho she was versatile and well rounded and that’s all people think she can do but if u watch her tap solos or more upbeat solos you’ll see her facials the way she hits every beat she beams with energy and sass.
Another thing I see is Chloe is way better than Maddie or Maddie is just an average dancer or overrated yeah Abby overrated her but the fandom doesn’t overhype her as much as they used to . And of course Chloe was better she’s a natural born ballerina which focuses on technique feet turns and grace. And she’s a natural turner unlike Maddie . Also Chloe has the idle ballet body and is born for ballet and should’ve been enrolled to Joffrey ballet school. Maddie’s more of a natural performer made for broadway and a natural leaper and has natural flexibility. I’ll say Chloe was more advanced and more mature and graceful aswell as more technical than Maddie bc she was older in seasons 1-2 . But Maddie was a better leaper and acrobat due to her natural flexibility and was a better storyteller and more well round and had more of a connection to the audience.and they were pretty equal in season 3 but season four Maddie improved leaps and bounds. Chloe lost lots of flexibility due to her not training under aldc since season three and was only there for the show and her growth spurt. But she did improve on using her whole body more her lines feet and fluidity got better and she could do more turns and matured more also her facials got better in lyrical and contemporary. She could handle more turns and more advanced turn sequences but her upper body alignment was off in alot of her s4 turns and her releve was noticeably lower than what it had been and toward the end of s4 she flat footed and bobbled a few of her turns coming out of a turn sequence and her leaps were noticeably stiffer and lacked control and height aswell as flexibility which is her biggest issue. Maddie had shocked me by her improvement she gained more control she flowed with the music more this season(4) she finished her moves more creating longer and gorgeous lines which was a big problem of hers in the earlier seasons she lost almost all her back flexibility but gained more leg flexibility and was more fluid her turns were fabulous and her variety and her amount had increased alot like Chloe’s did. Her releve was always average or medium when doing long turn sequences but in short turns they were high and pretty good overall. And just like Chloe she too had a growth spurt making their lines longer and looked more precise and clean. She also improved on her facials which was another issue the fandom had with her season one facials. Her leaps were always pretty good near flawless bc she had natural leaps and natural flexibility. They both improved a lot season 4.
Another’s thing I see is Maddie only won bc the storyline of her solos or costume music or choreo while it is true for the most part she also was a great story teller and had great technique and lots of potential. I wish Chloe went to a ballet school just look at her lines her feet grace turns sweet innocence and love for ballet or a more advanced studio.( she went to studio 19 but then left not that long after and studio 19 focuses on acrobatics and technique). For Maddie I wish she left the show/ team if she could’ve sooner(they had very strict contracts and had to do a certain amount of seasons for them to leave without being sued by life time) she improved a lot especially in 4-6 she gained more control in her leaps and legs aswell as turns and turnout and was dancing with club dance dancers kalani and brynn who pushed her technically and she pushed them emotionally that’s why I wish she went to train at club dance bc she got to good for Abby’s choreo and Abby not Gianna couldn’t choreograph for her really except in( vertigo and the woods and the peoples choice didn’t even look like aldc choreo it look like something club dance brynn would do with a little less turns and more leg extensions). I think she would’ve improved rapidly going to a studio that focuses on every aspect of technique flexibility and grace and I think Chloe would’ve done well there aswell or at a ballet school Chloe also got advanced and if she stayed Chloe would’ve regressed a bunch more instead of just loosing flexibility. And we wouldn’t have see. Her get a breakylikebher dancing in almost lover of fool me once in the music video she got more control over her body and she even got better choreo and seemed more relaxed and comfortable that she was gone from that monster Abby.

Here is my opinion on each of these! :)
1) Acapella. Chloe stumbled on her turns and Maddie just had clear taps and better choreography. Acapella did also have boring moments though imo.
2) Parlez moi. Chloe was much more entertaining, and although Maddie had a pretty solo, most of it was turns.
3) angel. We barely saw anything of different bodies, so we don’t have much to judge on. Also angel has made me cry before.
4) Manhattan. Chloe forgot and froze, and the choreo that we saw of Another Season was plain. The turns were good though.
5) I also can’t pick 😂. Lights Camera Action was refreshing to see Maddie do something different, and don’t catch me was also amazing.
6) again, I can’t pick. Maddie kept going after she fell, it was just edited to make it seem like she ran off, and even if In for the thrill wasn’t actually ballet, it still was close enough and very good.
7) I’m already there. The raven told a story, but I’m very picky when it comes to dark dances, and I’m already there was very pretty.
8) all of my life. Chloe bobbled on her turns A LOT and all of my life was generally cleaner.
9) Watercolors fade. I’m prepared to get a butt ton of backlash for this, but even though Chloe forgot a part, I still love the solo. Quiet voices was also amazing though.
10) Red queen. Chloe’s improv was amazing, and Maddie forgot, so.
11) Unchained. I love this solo so much, it’s in my top five chloe solos easily.
12) LFAPCH. What goes around had poor choreo, and I think Maddie was better in terms of performance.
13) Trouble. It didn’t have bland or amazing choreo, it was the kind of simple choreo that Chloe turned into something special. Chloe’s turns were amazing.
14) Ghost. Do I even need to explain? I will anyway. Three words. Chloe. Was. Robbed. That is a hill I will die on.
15) I can’t choose. Silence and Telling Myself both had amazing emotion and technique, I just can’t choose.
16) Nobody’s Perfect. Unpopular opinion warning, I hate Don’t Leave Me.
17) I’m trying. I like AIHTS, but I personally like I’m trying a teensy bit better.
