CHECK OUT MY UPDATED VERSION WITH HANS ZIMMER HERE:
• Spider-Man: Hans Zimme... - Hudba
7 years, 11 months, 12 days later, Michael Giacchino, composer of the MCU Spider-Man movies, has implemented the past Spidey movie themes of Elfman and Horner in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Giving us a snippet of what's to come for the movie's soundtrack with the themes of Elfman, Horner, and Giacchino all culminating into each other.
horner made a good theme
elfman made a god theme
I say it's not a sure answer.
Elfman's captures a Heroic sound, that you can almost feel the broadness of it. It's such a wide sound I feel. Just... BIG feeling, like everything is important, yet isn't bleak and depressing. There's hints of that thrown in, but in general it's a heroic uplifting song, with hints of the other stuff thrown in. It's a mainly bright sound, that has dark spots, like the films. There's some depressing stuff in them, but in general they are fun.
Horner's is the opposite. It's a much darker theme, though has a pushing to it. Like it's pushing through the dark tones to be heroic. Kinda a Even when things are bleak, you have to be the hero... With great power there must also come great responsibility... So it's a push to be responsible when everything tells you not to be. same with the film... It's very dark toned, but spidey does good things even through it. But it feels much smaller, even if the events are bigger scale.
Giacchino and friends:
“Why not both?”
I prefer Danny Elfman's version
you can't deny it...he's a legend
Dannys is way more mysterious and all around fits the beginning of spidey better.
makes him seem more of a hero than he is,it mostly captures the essence of flying,as if the score was swinging around with Spidey
2:49
This scene shows us Peter's responsibility.
RIMP yeah the best Spider-Man ever

Danny Elfman wins no question about it
1:44 was as amazing as spiderman

I love James Horner.. his one of my favorite composers of ALL TIME but... Danny Elfman wins this one by far!!!
James Horner did a fantastic Job
Listen I love the raimi Spider-Man movies and Elfman’s score but The Amazing Spider-Man and Horner’s theme are greatly under appreciated
Gracias James Horner Por Componer El Soundtrack Que Me Acompaña En Mi Adolescencia, Vos Ganas James
for me there is only one Spiderman, the one with danny elfmans music playing background
Adri Me too
Danny Elfman's easy, not only because it's more interesting music in it's own right, but also because it actually "sounds like Spider-Man" ya know what I mean? When I here it I instantly think Spider-Man, the character, his world, his story, the excitement, the romance, the tragedy all of it. I don't know what James Horner's is trying to sound like, but it certainly don't sound like no Spider-Man I ever heard of...or something.
Damn right!
god damn you placed the right words in my head why Danny's theme is far better and good. Good explanation, couldn't explain it any better 👍.
10 years later, don’t know if you’ll see this but I gotta disagree with you. Danny Elfman’s score is great, it’s triumphant and it’s uplifting, but James Horner’s just captures the more personal approach this movie took with Peter Parker, it may not be as heroic sounding but it’s so damn good. I also just love the instruments and the synth choir. James Horner’s score is one of the only superhero scores that I actually like listening to beyond the main theme. All the tracks are great but, “Main Titles,” “Becoming Spider-Man,” “Rooftop Kiss,” “Metamorphosis,” “The Bridge,” “Making a Silk Trap,” “Lizard at School,” “Saving New York,” and “Promises” are amazing.
James Horner’s score is just simply better in my opinion, and by far my favorite Spider-Man score.
Danny Elfman
Danny elfman
I like both
Each score captures both movies perfectly weather it be the mood and things like that. Either way, Danny Elfman's score is more recognizable and well known compared to James Horner's. But that doesn't mean James Horner's score is bad. Hopefully we get to hear callbacks to both themes in the new Spiderman movie. And rest in peace James Horner..
Danny wins.... hands down.
its danny elfmans eargasm instruments that makes a landslide victory
Both Danny Elfman and the classic Spider Man movies wins, with no doubt.
this is 6 years ago but to hell with it,Horner and Webb did a better job with Spider-Man

Danny Elfman easily wins!!!
When I saw the first Spider-Man film since a very, very long time in forever land, idk why but at 0:25 I cracked up at that part of the theme... I guess I was too used too the newer themes and the mcu themes. Now when I here it it brings me back to my childhood.
Just because of 2:49, Elfman wins!!

You mean the Batman redux part? Oh wait, the whole soundtrack is a redux of Batman's. See, I normally LOVE Elfman, huge fan generally speaking, but his music for the Spider-Man saga is a slightly-above-average compendium of his usual quirks and tics, and one of his most overrated works in my - not professional, but relatively educated - opinion. Not saying it's bad at all, far from it objectively speaking, but I personally prefer Horner's work for many reasons, from an strictly technical and artistic point of view that doesn't rely on the tinted glasses of nostalgia.
Now Zimmer's, THAT was really the ultimate by-the-numbers phoned-in lowest effort one may complain about, in my opinion, but that's a whole different story.
@@oscarjimenez3183
Zimmer Theme is Overrated
@@eduardochavezperez4848 elfman’s overrated compared to zimmer’s tracks. Same with zimmer’s dark knight track
I fully agree
It's gotta be Danny Elfman's. The entire score is pure gold. Horner's score had a lot of great individual moments, but on the whole it was slightly lacking for me. Although I wished he had returned to do "Amazing Spider-Man 2" for the sake of musical consistency.
Well, he died.
ZeroClarkThirty James Horner died in 2015, TASM 2 was released in 2014
You mean Elfman's entire score of 20 or so tracks compared to Horner's entire score (neither of which occur in this post in full)?
Both Match the Respected Styles of Each Film. Danny’s is Iconic to who grew up with the Raimi films. But Horner’s is my Personal Favorite. I love his style of scoring.
I love both of them, but i grew up with the danny elfman theme. Still elfman and james horner are two of my favorite composers.
The Amazing Spider man was the movie i grew up with so i gotta say james horner.
dany is the obious winer
Danny Elfman wins!
Danny Elfman's iconic score wins easily
I'm going through the comments and thinking I'm a bigger Spider Man fan than any of you and I got to say. there both great which do I prefer? I remember seeing the amazing Spider Man for the first time and hearing that theme I was so excited. because I got to see it in theaters the only Spiderman Ive seen in theaters. but I will say this Tobey had better movies
Elfmans Spider-Man soundtrack is still my favorite comic book movie soundtrack of all time. It doesn’t get much better than that.
He just looks so badass at 3:08.
4:20
Elfmans is iconic. But it’s also why I don’t like to compare because Horners was also really good. There’s a lot of good aspects about the first TASM that get overlooked due to being heavily compared to the Raimi films and Horners score is sadly one of them
There was literally no arguing which is better.
the spiderman theme by Elfman is a batman theme (by himself) but adaptated. Al least that seems to me.
Hmmm....I dunno about that one

I like Both because they both fit Spider-man in different way/style
Danny Elfman!!!!
Danny elfman's theme is undoubtedly better but I love James horner for MY HEART WILL GO ON!!💗💗
I'm going whit the amazing Spider-Man
They both fit Spiderman in different way/style
Danny Elfman perfect compositor
The theme of “With great power comes great responsibility” this just hits different....this theme is sooo different then any other thems jst best
I have both positive and negative reactions to both .
Elfman's theme , those drums sound like they belong to black panther and wakanda than spidey , on the positive sides , the 1:49 part of the theme actually fits Spidey perfectly , it sounds very heroic , emotional .
Horner's theme , sorry to anyone out there who thinks elfman's theme is the most emotional , but horner's theme touched my heart and teared me up much more than elfman's .
His theme is really good and fits spidey as a hero .
On the negative sides , the horns of the first part are a pretty bizarre fit for spidey , they sound more religious and immigral than heroic.
James Horner his music is surprising, like the movies
One of the most sucessfull works by danny elfman, i must say he won it
Elfman suited the age of the actors, and suited the time of when it was created, I think horner did a great job at capturing a more modern take to the score and it also fitted a more younger, more lively, teenaged peter parker. They both did great jobs but you cant compare as they both jad 2 very different style of films to work with, however I do prefer to listen to Elfman! Hans zimmer in the amazing spider man 2 however blew me away
And another revisit ❤️
There is Another Movie Where Two Different Adaptations Had Different Composers. Elfman (Animated), Horner (Live-Action).

Everyone is saying that "Elfman's theme IS Spiderman." Nah, it's fine, but only is loved as much as it is for nostalgia. Horner's is my favorite movie Spiderman theme. The Best Spiderman theme is that written by John Peasano.
Fuck off and repair your ears
@@101yashu u bro asshole
Danny Elfman without hesitation.
Elfman's theme is great but it's too Gothic and doesn't really fit Spider-Man. Horner's theme is goated as fuck
It's not "too Gothic" and fits Spider-Man perfectly. It's grand and dynamic, and it's easy to imagine Spider-Man swinging through the city with this music, and how Elfman managed to seamlessly include the softer, more melancholic themes for Peter Parker and responsibility is impressive. And I'd argue that the "Gothic" sounds line up with the darker, more grisly elements of the movie. After all, Sam Raimi directed horror movies before Spider-Man. Also, imagine having the composer for Batman do a Spider-Man score, just to call his theme "too Gothic," especially that said score sounds nothing like Batman. In fact, there's only one cue in the entire movie that bears a strong similarity to Batman.
Gothic? It doesn't sound gothic at all, it's much more heroic and energetic.

Both the composers are best. And I like both Andrew and Tobey. Every Spider-Man is the best and every actors who portrays Spider-Man is best. It's just the movies. Even Andrew's Amazing Spider-Man is better than Tom's Spiderman Homecoming but what matters is they acted well
Finally someone thinks both of them are good
I prefer Tasm,s one because it's more like a motivational and a dark Vigilante movie theme
But Tobey,s theme is more Spider man and Epic
Danny elfmanns ☺👍com certeza!
To be honest, both Elfman and Horner scores are amazing to me, no comparisons, loved them both, stop fighting here, MCU is winning while you guys are fighting over here, we need to make a stand, we need adventures of tobey and Andrew to be continued in further solo movies of theirs, we can't let Tomorrow Holland Iron boy Jr. Win
Yes
James Horner's sounds better. More complete and thought out, whereas Elfman's theme rambles, keeps acting like it's building to something.

James Horner’s score is amazing.
Danny Elman because he has made many other iconic themes
Danny Elfman wins😍
We have the guy who did Beetlejuice against the guy who did Braveheart, and the former wins.
For me the latter wins and why are you comparing different films from different genres?
This is complicated for me. I love both composers and both themes very much as pieces of music, they’re both done extremely well and are crafted pretty close to perfect. It’s probably the minority opinion to say this but I prefer Horner and Zimmer’s Spider-Man themes to Elfman’s. I think the tone of music evokes a feeling on the charachter, and personally the grandness and overwhelming heroism of Elfman’s dosent completely jive with how I view Spidey. His score is fantastic, but it feels to me that it could fit many other superheroes with its traditional heroism. The Horner and Zimmer themes feel far more subdued in a way, which I prefer for Spidey as his brand of heroism is friendly neighbourhood and not ‘save the planet’ kind of scope. I also think the tone of Horner’s in particular evokes an aspect of Spider-Man from his original conception that has been lost which is his creepiness and body horror elements. Peter is a fun quippy hero, but his powers and abilities are actually quite disturbing and the theme reflects that. Both are still great scores in film history
Just stop...... You only like Elfman’s because he was your “childhood” like bruh how does he beat the legend the king the superior James Horner? Elfman’s was basically Batman’s theme with a tiny bit of changes. If you like this go like Batman he is the true one you should like.
James Horner theme just gets me the whole tasm 1 album I would choose over Danny Elfman any day tbh but he is the original

Like most people I have a nostalgic attachment to how elfman’s theme made me feel, but now that I’m older I appreciate Horner’s theme more. For me, THATS the Spider-Man theme. Something about it tells peter’s story better than Elfman’s theme. To me at least
