- The Spider-Man themes by Danny Elfman, James Horner, and Hans Zimmer & The Magnificent Six. Spider-Man (2002), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). Which is your favorite theme for Spider-Man???????????
- Hudba
for me, the Elfman theme is THE song of the cinematic version of spiderman, damn it made my childhood :3
Dats right
yes
RedShockInc how can The Amazing Spider-Man Duology have different theme songs??? Danny Elfman did Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 Theme songs and didn’t do Spider-Man 3 Theme and Christopher Young did why?
Same i grew up on Sam Rami's Spider-Man
@@gracielarivera6465 i think Elfman refused to do 3, idk I forgot.

I get so happy when i listen to Danny Elfman's score i almost feel like crying because i love those movies so much. Even the third one. My brother and i would watch those movies nonstop, draw spiderman, and play spiderman 2 on GameCube. Holy crap, I'm tearing up :')
one of the best games of all time
I had Spider-Man 1,2, and 3 on PS2... I still play them for that nostalgic feeling
Me too! I remembered that I literally watched the film everyday after I came from preschool the CD was played so many times that it got to scratched up for me to see it and even like that I would still watch lol😂. And also I feel bad for kids that grew up watching the tasm films bc I feel like the original was way better.
Dylan I did not mind tasm... but I felt that they missed some of the charm that the original had. Love both series, but still the originals just had this charm that tasm didn't
+Dylan I was born when Spider-man 2 was released
Danny Elfman's without a doubt. The buildup, the vocals the violins solo. Just perfect.
ELFMAN: Legendary , HONER: Amazing , ZIMMER: Epic
I think all of them are perfect
My exact opinion
Horner my guy
Correction: Horner is legendary

I love every single one, and i cant decide which is the best.
They all represent different aspects of the character, and they are all catchy and amazing
so true each represents a different feeling
Ya i agree its like elfmans captures the aweosmeness while horners represents the the darkish side and zimmers captures the happiness of being spiderman

Elfman is the best, but Horner and Zimmer are really good too. And Electro's theme is really good.
I hope they play Elfman's theme in Spider-Man: Homecoming
@@matrixpolaris679 Elfman is too low level. You can't win Horner and Zimmer.Elfman fails more than catch the vibe of his movies.
Thank You Andrew Garfield for putting your heart and soul in to Spider-Man. You'll always be Spider-Man to me, even if Marvel tells you otherwise. You'll be truly missed. It hurts knowing that he was a Spider-Man fan since a young boy and is no longer able to play his hero. Hopefully he'll never forget that he played the Spider-Man that the people always wanted. Thank You Sir.

The TASM main theme resonates with me so much its defiantly my fav.
I still cannot understand why someone thought it would be a good idea to hire Pharrel Williams as the composer for a super hero action movie.
I agree completely with you
+spideralexandre2099 And I can't undersand why someone thought it would be a good ideia to hire Pharell Williams to select the soundtrack of a basketball game. Whoeever played 2K15 knows what I am talking about, the soundtrack really sucks. The songs aren't even that bad, but they have nothing to do with basketball whatsoever.
+spideralexandre2099 He was a drummer. Nothing more.
+t00nyAnd that's why I'm asking why he was hired as the composer!
+spideralexandre2099 Hans Zimmer composed it
May James Horner's soul rest in peace; his amazing scores have dazzled audiences for three decades, as does his score for Amazing Spider-Man, but with all due respect. Danny Elfman's is more complex, memorable, and fitting for the character.
I agree
Axxion Pictures I agree that the score lines up with Tobey Maguire and Horner's lines up with Andrew Garfield.
Axxion Pictures Well put.
Ever listen to the ENTIRE instrumental score album start to finish? You MAY be considering only the beginning and end themes. Track for Track, the other soundtracks have him beat for easy listening.

True
I would definitely appreciate james horner for handling a genre that he is not familiar with..Both elfman and hans are very used to score these kind of action hero films, there is no big deal for them but to score a different genre and still makes impact we should give credit to james..one should not forget that when handling emotional side james is always by far than remaining two..
James has scored some action films such as Aliens & Commando.
Danny Elfman. I don't know why this is even a debate.
Matthew Lee they’re all pretty interesting and really good things, but cmon, no spiderman movie could live up to spiderman 1 or spiderman 2, and the soundtrack was a big part of that
@Hello There Yours is more.Zimmer can be the king, but don't have the balls to do dramatic.Catch the Spiderman Brave's Soul.Zimmer is good fights, but that is.All you talk like Zimmer is the fucking king, but can't win Ennio Morricone or John Williams. That Cocky argument of yours is brutally invalid XD
Elfman and Zimmer win this one because Elfman's theme is classic but to give ASM2 SOME credit the theme is good here and invokes the heroic nature of Spidey.
Danny, Fucking, Elfman, I'm sorry Hans, I love you but Spiderman 2 just hit me like a train.
+Mac Bell nice pun

"Hit me like a train" Made me think of the train fight scene. SpiderMan 2 is the greatest comic book film ever made and stands as my #1 favorite film to date.

Elfman. Period.
Danny Elfman made my childhood EPIC! I'll go with him this time :)

Danny Elfman's score was ahead of its time. Horner's was.... I don't even remeber it. Zimmer's... I would rather forget about it and never hear again.
James Horner: 🔥❤
The Amazing Spider-Man 1: 🔝🔝
For me it's James Horner, tho I grew up with Elfmans score. James Horners score is just so perfect and relaxing to listen. When I watched the first three movies I didn't quite even notice the music in the background. But after I watched the Amazing Spider-Man I noticed the music, I loved it! It was too perfect for me. (I love all the soundtracks, not a single track is bad)
I feel like Zimmer's just perfectly captured the feeling of the movie😍
Hans Zimmer and James Horner were always my favourite movie composers since I was a kid in the 80s.
Without doubt James Horner wins this one. Horner was an outstanding composer who brought heart and soul to all his scores.
RIP James your music will last forever.
Danny Elfman's is always the best one for me
It's (nearly) Entirely the reason why I watched the first movie from the trilogy in the first place
They're all good
+The Amazing Spider-Man™ agree
In my whole opinion Elfman`s has always got a place in my inner child heart, but the theme he created just suits a different hero, since I was young I though that the Spider- Man had an energetic Vibe, and an energetic OST within, and when I heard Horners interpretation on the character it just "Amazed" me, it gives that nostalgic tone to it, and Zimmers just fits into Spider-Man's ultimate comics, you can read an heroic moment from those comic whil listening 17:43 track, and you`ll cry like a little girl : )

Come on no one came out of the theatre humming his music, and if they did it was electro's theme, and that was only cause it had dubstep
666 PRODUCTIONS That's your opinion, not mine.
+Chespinoid his opinion is fact dude
Exile Studios :O RLLY?
@@smashinghumer666 nah, zimmer’s theme was great. People don’t have to hum it for it to be good, it sounds good to listen to compared to elfman’s theme
The way I listen to it, I get different feelings from each theme:
Danny Elfman - Spider-Man as the classic superhero, swinging in to save the day in an epic way.
James Horner - A little mysterious and ominous but hopeful, like Peter Parker still struggling to discover what he's gotten himself into.
Hans Zimmer - Now that he's "officially" Spider-Man, it's like he's on top of the world (both figuratively and literally in a way).
That's just me, tho lol
I like your Opinion :D
Yey I'm not alone
Damn, that's well said
I love it!
Very surprised that TASM2 isn't getting much love in these comments, I think Zimmer absoltely nailed the energy, the feeling and the presence of Spiderman. Its energetic, its uplifting, its heroic. It has traces of youth while also showing a maturity from its predecessor. Its heartfelt and grounded while being so perfectly put together that it makes you feel like you're soaring in the clouds.
For me that is the best theme. For me that IS Spiderman.
absolutely
Zimmer is overrated to the hell
Zimmer had a great main theme, but the rest of the score is really forgettable. James Horner’s score is the best.
Zimmer's Peter and Gwen theme kills me everytime. Damn you for making me cry man tears
You can't compare them, because they all have a different feel to them...
Elfman: Classic
Horner: Heroic
Zimmer: Epic
... Or whatever you wanna call them. They are all perfect. Some people just can't let go of the old franchise. The first Spider-Man came out when I was in Kindergarten. I grew up with it and was devastated when I heard they were rebooting it, but this franchise is just as good.
You know what, it's all a matter of opinion anyway. So who cares?
Zimmer's is more heroic than Horner's
Ok
In my opinion
nshed87 Totally nailed it!
Wow James horner is super
Elfman: It just screams Spider-Man to me. And whenever I see a classic picture of Spider-Man from old or modern day comics, this theme always plays in my head
Horner: Good theme, but forgettable after a little bit. It did fit for a dark tone Spider-Man, maybe for Spidey Noir but still.
Zimmer: I think of Spidey whenever I hear of this theme. This fits him as much as Elfman. This was just, dare I make the pun, AMAZING!!!!
Elfman IMO Simply amazing what he did for this film in my opinion.
Danny Elfman. The good childhood emotions kick in whenever I listen to that track.
Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite composers but even though his was great, this one is between Horner and Elfman. This is a close one but I think I'm going with Horner.
James Horner for sure
R.I.P Gwen Stacy
she came back as a fucking clone.fuck that bitch
Mitchell Kyler Martin yup
Yeah, to then have at it with miles. -_-

Holy shit!!!!! Hanz Zimmer killed it!!!! it's like spiderman was saying, "I'm spiderman, I'm a superhero, and I'm here to stay."
that thrilling moment of music then suddenly you're in at the top of the roller coaster going down and then feeling relieved!
That is danny elfman!
Elfman's theme is the only one I remember
What bad memory you have lol
My favorito is the song from james horner
Elfman wins.
I appreciate the old spiderman movies far more than the modern ones...the moral messages they carried have helped me in life so much,in almost everything, dealing with injustices, keep walking straight etc....the new ones,eh,no messages, just action
My favorite is Zimmer's theme. **dodges a tomatoe**
TASM hater: BOO! YOU STINK!
Nothing says being desperate to the audience like TASM 2 soundtrack... You're entitled to your opinion, but TASM isn't just hated for nothing, it really is just a crappy movie holding on to the rights of a character. The soundtrack for the first movie was actually ok, but the second one... Yeah no
666 PRODUCTIONS
Thank you for accepting my opinion.
I know TASM isn't hated for nothing.
I just find some of the "criticisms" a little unfair.
And I find more good stuff than bad
666 PRODUCTIONS I feel like people hate on it just because it's rebooted and because it's the amazing Spider-Man...when they here the amazing Spider-Man I feel like people just hate on it just because it's the amazing Spider-Man....if you ask me but I found TASM2 better than Spider-Man 3 the only reason why is because Gwens death that's probably the only reason why Its not as bad as FF4 (2016) I'll rank my movies like this.
1: Spider-Man 2
2: The Amazing Spider-Man
3: Spider-Man
4: The Amazing Spider-Man 2
5: Spider-Man 3
and I put the amazing Spider-Man 1 over the first original Spider-Man is because I understood where they were going with it and obviously it looks better cgi is good...but regardless I love all of them in a Spider-Man fan...ill watch this franchise over any other.
Danny Elfman, the one and only :D
Zimmers score for the amazing Spider-Man 2 is actually pretty good it's just for the wrong hero. I could see this film score being used for perhaps the flash but to be completely honest I get a booster gold vibe from this song. Even though we are talking about marvel movies not DC over here. Still if a faithful booster gold movie Hans score would ft better with that kind of tone
At first I was obsessed with Elfman, I mean, I grew up with that Spider-Man. But now, Hans Zimmer beautiful main theme has really grown on me. You just can't beat the music that follows Gwen and Peter's love story.
if you want a classic spider-man theme, Elfman is the way to go. Horner is your epic, mysterious, fantasy pick. From the stillness of the main theme played on piano to the unusual sounds and instruments. Zimmer is just a masterful orchestral composer that really knows how to mix in the 'ethereal' and electric vibe to create a fresh take on Spider-Man. He has an amazing grip on composing music for the classical orchestra and strings for soft moments and also breaking out electric guitars and synths for the big fight moments. He really did a fantastic job picking up where Horner left off (rest in peace) and also bringing something new to the soundtrack.
So...I can't really compare. They are all different styles. I guess the one most compelling to me is Horner, because he composed that beautiful theme that later on Zimmer really revamped.
Danny Elfman is the best
also hans zimmer
And now it looks like we're gonna need another composer for the Marvel reboot.
andrew barralaga I want someone new. TASM2 had my favorite theme though.
andrew barralaga No
+andrew barralaga No, I want the new films to have their own flavor and tone if they bring Elfman's theme back, it would be too much like Raimi's trilogy and thats the last thing I want, I prefer the reboot stay in tone with Marvel and go with the more realistic and smarter tone of The Amazing Spider-man
+sm4carnageihope I'm with +andrew barralaga, to me the Elfman score is as important to Spidey as the Williams score is to Star Wars. Might be a bit of an absurd comparison, but that's how much I feel like his score captures the heroism, drama, action, mystery and tragedy of Spider-Man.
That's not to say I'm not open for a new score either. I really like some of Horner and Zimmers work on TASM movies for example, but I still felt like it was unnecessary to take out all of Elfmans... I don't know what to call it... sound? I believe that bits and pieces of at least the theme SHOULD be carried over from what came before, due to the quality of the theme itself.
Just look at James Bond, multiple movies, actors and continuitys, yet that iconic theme stays in almost all of them even if they change composers. It's a part of the character now. And the same should go for Spidey. But that's just how I feel about it.
Albin LI The reason why Williams stuck around for Star Wars was because its the same continuity, that and the score is iconic. Elmans theme isn't iconic and these are new continuities. If its so important to have, then why did TASM work out fine without it?
Dan's theme is pretty much a classic but I really prefer Horner's theme because it makes you feel like you take on anything
Petroshock Pictures I understand if you feel that way but I Personally just enjoyed Horner's theme a bit more
I speak for everyone here, and without a doubt the best theme was by Danny Elfman. Danny Elfman is one of the est composers, but for some reasons he's one of those magnificent people who don't get recognized for it. His music he wrote for the 1989 Batman was pretty legit too. Danny Elfman is one of the best composers in my opinion.
TruckerTRex Elfman's Batman theme is nothing short of a masterpiece. Every bit as much as Williams' Superman theme.
Danny Elfman all the way! :) he just hits all the right notes., proving once again that he is the best when it comes to the Superhero film. I was surprised that Horner's attempt was a big let down. He usually delivers the best scores when it comes to the Orchestra like The Mask Of Zorro for example. Hans Zimmer, well he's played out if you ask me.
What do u mean, Horners score was amazing and tbh it is probably my favorite
1. Danny Elfman
(classic)
2.James Horner
(amazing, i think, should've done the 2nd one)
3. Hans Zimmer
(This man usually does great with what he does, not here in my opinion, the main part of the theme with the trumpets is just too simple for me, just my opinion)
Hopefully in the next Spider-Man movie, they will have a great score that will become an instant classic...
Michael Covington I totally agree with you, I just didnt like Hanz Zimmer's approach on SpiderMan... It sounds like he ran out of ideas that it just doesnt fit Spiderman.... Oh and btw in my opinion even James Horner's version could be the best one out of the three because it has a very triumph and victorious feel too it where Danny's version does'nt have that feeling....Seriously I think Horner's one is kinda underestimated by the fans but it feels kinda half done and the main theme wasn't used much in the film which could be the reason of people underestimating it, but I advise you to go and re watch the entire crane scene of The Amazing Spider Man, you will see what I mean, James Horner in my opinion has done the best score next to Danny... But Hanz Zimmer absolutely sh**ed on Spiderman movies
I totally think the same! I mean, when I started to explore the amazing world of movie soundtracks, I found Danny Elfman's work for Spider-man. Then, I found his work for Burton's movies. Even now, I think He is one of the best musicians of movies.
But years later I met Hans Zimmer. His work is Epic, He became my favorite one. Since Inception, or Batman to Interstellar. But not his work for Spider-man. I think It doesn't seem his style. I think he could have done a better work without the "magnificent six". But, What can I say? I'm also a great fan of the spider-man character since comicbooks, and that movie, TASM 2, sucks. I didn't even expect a good adaptation. I just expected a good movie, but it wasn't. I was impatient for watching the movie, but It simply was so bad. As the score. I think just a few themes were great.
I also love the work of another musicians like John Williams or Trent Reznor, even Herman. But James Horner... well, He is good, he makes good scores, but he seem 'generic' to me sometimes. But themes like promises, or the main theme make me feel the first movie of TASM. So, I would put the scores in the same order you did.
It's not that James Horner was not gonna do the second one but he sadly passed away. Zimmer as a friend of James took the place Horner left ot of respect towards his talents.
My favorite is probably the Trilogy theme, and I didn't know that Hanz Zimmer scored it, which explains why it's so good.
Danny Elfman just gave to this Trilogy its soul. Everytime i hear the first 3 notes of the main title of Spiderman, it's like i see all the movie in juste 5 seconds. It's something really special that we all know we wont find in thoses spidermans movies they're making right now. We need passion to make good films. There was passion in Sam Raimi's Spidermans , there's absolutely none in this last one. We want passionated film makers. Please guys, stop overating those movies they're making for money with no love and no passion. We want the CHILLS BACK GUYS.
Elfman always the best main theme

Zimmer, Elfman, Horner. They were all fantastic in different ways, but that would be my ranking.
personally I love James Horner's version but I do like the others
Danny Elfman's is definitely classic, while I still go for the last epic one
Elfman really brings the vibe that something weird, cool, creepy and epic is about to happen. It builds the proper suspense. It's easily the best, especially for Spider-man 2.
I love that in Tasm 2 they brought back the old Spider-Man suit form tobey maguires era and hardly changed it

Danny Elfman's theme just screams "With great power, comes great responsibility"
Elfman's is the best followed by Zimmer and then Horner's which sadly never stood out too much.

from what I saw in Civil War, Tom Holland is going to blow Tobey out of the water, both as Spidey and Peter.

Jek Alan Silvestri's score for The Avengers is quite memorable. GotG and Winter Soldier had good scores, too. Other than that, the MCU hasn't relied heavily on strong film scores.

Droogie128 absolutely!
12:50 - 14:58 AMAZING LOVE THEME!
Horner all the way. His music perfectly captured the darkness of the city, the beauty of Spiderman's movements, the fluidity and grace of the action sequences. Elfman is good, Zimmer is okay, but nothing compares to Horner's sheer orchestral gold.
James horner is the best for me, Tasm ost are amazing, TASM 1 are amazing
I LOVE SOUNDTRACK TASM 1-2
as a true Spider-Man fan and Marvel fan, I love all of them but here's how I rank it:
1. Danny Elfman
2. Hans Zimmer
3. James Horner
Danny Elfman is the best, hands down. I can remember the ENTIRE score in my head without listening to it. It's the definitive Spider-Man movie score.
James Horner didn't do a good or bad job, it just wasn't memorable. It could've worked out by continuing with this theme in later films, but it was just generic.
Hans Zimmer, while I love the score for The Dark Knight Trilogy, did an okay job too with the recurring "Spider-Man" theme(s), but it was nothing special. However, his score for Electro (alone) was pretty kickass, though I understand why people dislike it for being a little slow and too dubsteppy.

In my opinion I like the Amazing and Amazing 2 themes a lot, but the first thing to come to my mind when talking about Spiderman, is the original trilogy theme. And I was like 3 and I would sing the theme daily!
Whenever I think Spider-Man, I think of Danny Elfman's theme blaring as a costumed hero swings around the city using webs.
Elfman wins hands down in my opinion. It sounds like there's actual spiders running across the violin strings! I also prefered the Sam Raimi movies to the latest rehash anyhow. Horner's is ok though a bit bland and Zimmer's doesn't sound like it bears any relation to Spiderman at all. Just opinions.....
There's a part within Elfman's composition that instantly makes me think of DNA, which I feel suits it superbly. Also, believe that Danny managed to incorporate feelings of darkness, epicness, sadness, and a bit of hopefulness at the end of the song.
I REALLY want Danny to return to the franchise. To me the Elfman score is as important to Spidey as the Williams score is to Star Wars. Might be a bit of an absurd comparison, but that's how much I feel like his score captures the heroism, drama, action, mystery and tragedy of Spider-Man.
That's not to say I'm not open for a new score/composer either.

Albin LI I disagree. It would be a stupid choice to have the song carry over because, the themes of the movies and characters are completely different. Elfmans theme wouldn't fit in The ASM at all. Not in ASM2
Danny elfman was best, but man, The amazing Spider-Man 1 theme was so good. I loved it
electros theme epic and spidermans to cause the way it start when he falls from the sky like the music sounds so mighty and bright
danny elfman. Imagine if they use that song for spiderman homecoming :O!

Mr. Red it's Michael Giacchino. Rest easy knowing it's in the hands of the next John Williams
the classic one is the best for me
They are all unique and beautiful in their own way. If I had to pick, I'd give it to Zimmer. Something about his theme just screams Spider-Man to me. Also, Elfman's theme is awesome and very nostalgic! Horner's fit the movie but didn't really scream Spidey to me. :D It gave me a coming of age feel rather than a heroic feel but it was still good. I think Zimmer really understood what Spider-Man is all about in his score. It's the best in my opinion.
it really has feeling! the beginning of the second one, omg it literally made me cry!
