The entire engine family (m102, m103, m104, om602, om603, om605, om606...) Is better than the 2jz for getting lots of power on stock internals, or slight and cheap upgrades :-)
@@TheSlowDude :DDD almost Any gasoline engines are better for making power and reliability than these old diesels. They are are not spooling fast and cannot even produce decent amount of torque without some crazy compound turbos or nitrous etc. And how many om606 makes even close to 1000? I quess there are just not existing that kind of om6x engine in the world xD

Well the om606 naturally aspirated engine has smaller and weaker pistons and piston rods. But the factory turbo variant of the engine has stronger pistons and piston rods and can handle upwards of 500 hp without using the internals.
Your typical diesel mechanic: Diesels can't really rev high since the fuel doesn't ignite fast enough. The OM606: Hold my beer.... ***clocks 7000 or higher without breaking a sweat***

How long such engine will last? Highly modified diesel engines are prone to piston cracks or even melt through because diesel fuel burns different.
It has oil injected piston cooling I think? So no problem probably.

@@lstvayne7583 There's a diesel swapped Supra out there that can do it.
The reason for that is because the OM606 has no direct injection, also it is an short stroker, almost like an regular petrol.
