- Hailing from the Argentine city of Córdoba, Julián Álvarez's rise in football has been fairly sudden, leaving River Plate after 4 years and joining forces with English Champions Manchester City. In only his first European season, The Spider has collected 4 trophies, in one of the most decorated campaigns any player has ever had.

The Streets Will Never Forget: Hatem Ben Arfa! Just how good was he? 🤔
I am from Oncativo, Córdoba. A nearby town of Calchín, where Julian was born, we have around the same age and I also used to play football, and yes his name was quite heard around my group of friends, everyone was scared of Calchin FC because of him.
He seems like a born winner or the luckiest footballer ever lived. Maybe both.
Definitely a born winner he didn’t give up after losing his chance in Europe and without him I don’t know if Argentina even would’ve won the World Cup
Born winner players are different breed like Deschapms, Zidane, Xavi, Inniesta, Tony Kross, Alvarez 😉
@@helpinghand6456he is a born winner his quality is just being over shadowed
This has nothing to do with luck ......he doesn't play alot but whenever he does he shines
5 goals in knockout world cup play... lucky? huh? 17 off the bench? Is this the first football vid youve ever watched?
and he's still under appreciated, overshadowed by messi and haaland in his respective teams people aren't talking about him as much as they should. I think he'll become a top 5 player in the world in a couple years. It's good that he's learning from the best right now but he'll have to leave city to achieve that.
Nah Argentinian fans are talking a lot about him. Him and Lautaro Martinez were the reason so many people over here watched the City vs Inter match
when you are only overshadowed by the GOAT and the best 9 in the world right now you are doing fine 🤣
tbh not bad players to be overshadowed by. Messi and Haaland will overshadow literally everyone.
Haaland will end up leaving City in the next 2-3yrs while Alvarez is still there honing his skills. He will be City’s #1 before the knows it and that’s assuming Pep doesn’t come with another way to use him in the side more than just a 9
@@MCFCTheMadHatter pep might even make him his new defensive midfielder lol
Julian is a great all round player, an endless ball of energy! All these people saying he should leave City.... Why so? He will play more and more next season. Look at Jack Grealish during his first season at City, he barely played a game. I can see Mahrez or Bernardo leaving this summer and Alvarez stepping in on that right wing like he did at River Plate. The boy truly is a special talent and will get the game time he requires. 16 goals for City and barely playing the first 3/4 of the season is pretty damn good!
he betta not leave or his winning will go down!
He should, eventually, he is too good to be a sub but nobody can replace erling, but he can wait and enjoy his time there
i think most people believe that alvarez will stay sub next season and he won’t have opportunities to really shine.. that’s why they want him to leave. i agree with you though, i think mahrez might leave to make way for alvarez. pep likes young talent and alvarez has proved himself!
but there's such (not so) subtle difference. Grealish sucked the first season at city, and even the first games of this season. Alvarez on the other hands has been proving every time he played. People compare him with haaland and underestimate him, treating him as if he were an inexperienced kid when the truth is that although he has some things to improve, he was a major contribution to Argentina winning the World Cup, and he has the capacity to play in important games. Even if he stays, the team is built around erling, to serve and provide for him. If he has personal ambition he should go to another club, because the reality is that with a good team around him (just like haaland at city), he can compete for individual prizes. Haaland is a top top striker, but I'm not sure how far the difference is with Julian.
@@constanzaferrer4672 well said sir! I do think he'll get his chance to shine at City this season playing just in behind Haaland or a more central role or out on the right wing. He was a pretty big contribution to City last year contributing 17 goals, not a bad tally as a sub for most games. To pass on a talent like that would be criminal on Citys part. I doubt he'll be moving anywhere this coming season anyway.
People dont realise that city is full of these type of freak players Pep and his Scouting team are just wild 😮

second best goalscorer for man city while playing half the minutes. truly underrated. hope he can find a club that isn't Chelsea and shine on his own there.
RM are losting time and money on Mbappe, they should get Alvez
i think the libertadores here is a bit underrated. came in the last few minutes to win possibly the greatest final of the tournament, which with the world cup and the champions league makes him one of 4 (other 3 being ronaldinho, cafu and dida) to win the 3 most important international trophies, him being the youngest and the sole argentine to do it. you also got the primera division trophy and the libertadores mixed up and 2:09 lol
The 2018 Libertadores is the greatest Libertadores final of all time. The 2022 World Cup Final is the greatest World Cup game of all time. He featured in both. No one else has done that.
@@JulianRapaportrmani too 💀
@@martinorce3922 Armani didn’t play a single minute in the World Cup
Underrated? Alvarez wasn't even on the bench for all the group games and almost the whole knockout stage of the Libertadores. He warmed the bench on the first leg of the finals but didn't get to step on the pitch. He only got subbed at the last 20' of the 2nd leg and didn't manage to score. Even counting it as a trophy in his resumee is already overrated.

If Messi didn't exist he would be the main man in attack for Argentina every game at 23.
If Messi doesn't exist neither julian
If he was the penalty taker, he'd be the top scorer
If Messi didn't exist, I wouldn't be watching football and wouldn't know many current players.
False, Alvarez is a striker and is already the main striker for Argentina as of now, Messi is a RW, so position wise Alvarez is the main man in attack, Messi does a lot of the build up in the midfield
@@lamp6121I heard Bernado leaving City.
I would like to see Alvarez playing forward with Haaland.
It's weird to say this, but Alvarez is so underrated at just 23. He runs the channels, his dribbling is decent, he presses like Park Ji Sung and his shooting is top class. He isn’t quite the new Messi, but he's brilliant in his own right.
His life in football in laid out like Kaka, Kaka came to AC Milan in 2003 as a world cup winner in 2002, full with confidence, so is with this guy. It's now upto him to win that Ballon D'or with that CV, backed by Messi, Di Maria at 2022 WC. Kaka did it, his CV was backed by Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho & Roberto Carlo back in 2002.
dont you compare him with the faulty bullet that was kaka
He don't came to city as a world cup player he was there before the world cup
@@lucagorosito3715 kaka became a starter for AC milan as soon as he got in and was the main key of the team, yeah you're right there's no comparison
@@lucagorosito3715 I understand you like this player, I totally understand. Let us see if he can ever do what Kaka did, at least win a Ballon D'or. Kaka won it over when Ronaldinho, Messi, Henry, Ronaldo who were at their peak. Only then you can compare him on the same league as Kaka. You are right too, yes Kaka got injured and became faulty, but that's a story for another day :)
Kaka was basically a water boy at the 2002 World Cup
i’m glad we can all agree julian is agueros regen and lautaro was higuains regen with his clutch misses
If argentina used aguero really well and incorporated him into the team better argentina would have won the world cup in 2014 they used alvarez instead of lautaro that made the difference but in 2014 aguero was injured so higuian played instead of him aguero scored a hattrick on neuer that same year If argentina started with aguero and if aguero was not injured argentina would have beaten germany because aguero knows how to score against neuer
Higuain was Italys TOP scorer. He played beutifully in copas americas and club stuff, but one bad world cup ruined him. Don't disrespect him like that.
@@patilaucha nah he’s the latin lukaku, once good turned to shit
Only English fans think that. Lautaro is an idol in Argentina and right now is leading Inter (which was a serious contender at last year's UCL final) BTW, it was Lautaro who took a lightning bolt to Lloris before Messi's 3rd goal. Only Scaloni knows it, but I believe he'll be the starter in the next Argentina key games.

i love the way alvarez plays so calm and collected
So glad City picked him up, has all the potential to be one of the best strikers in the modern era, dribbling, flair, great shot, can play on both wings as a 9 or a shadow striker. Him picking City was his best choice, with all the world-class players to learn from, top range coaches and state-of-the-art facilities and the greatest coach of all time Pep to learn from. He has already stated how much he loves being apart of the team.
It would have made him happier when he came back after the world cup to be embraced and congratulated by a team of superstars and people who he did not even know that well yet but treated him like family. Glad he is signed until 2028, with Silva going and Mahrez with one leg out the door, I can see him becoming a City, prem and football legend and being a nailed on starter on that right wing.

What a gem and what a humble guy. People should talk more about him than Mbappe. He deserves it a lot more for his accolades, skills, class, maturity, and humility. Some of those are lacked in Kylian Mbappe

I hope he leaves City soon, he's wasting his potential there. But Alvarez is more than a striker, his pressing is amazing, he's there to help and fit the team more than the robot. Messi could do his magic in part thanks to Alvarez. There was a big difference in the way Argentina play with and without him in the pitch.
Wonderful young talent.

Although he's from Argentina I can see his quality as Luis Suarez. Not to mention he also has good chemistry with Messi on the pitch

For me he was the best young player of the tournament, but if he was younger to match the criterias he would have won the award with no doubt
Probably but Enzo was 21 and Julián 22 so… won Enzo like young player

I had to see this on alverz after that goal in the WC
The perfect replacement for Benzema, Haaland can stay in Man City and score vs brighton wolves and nottingham. Mbappe formed France national team in PSG... This young guy deserves a team that needs his talent not being subbed when someone cant tap in goals. ALVAREZ scored 30 seconds after he subbed Haaland VS Real Madrid last season.
