Hi Josh, I finished my Retevis repeater but with a 50 foot mast nested among thick miles of 100 foot pine trees it only works in our neighborhood. So, I saw your video here and it peaked my interest. Can you recommend a CZcams video starting point to get started for my repeater to go online?

Where I live we don't have mobile phone service so we just use radio repeaters. I suppose it helps I am an amateur...

Hey. Nice video. What software is that. Your node was offline last night when I checked
Shouldn’t have been off line. We where using it last night hunting. On zello you won’t here the date time and weather report or the morse code as it becomes annoying. You will hear any talking and anytime someone uses dtmf tones to make the repeater function. Give me a little bit and I’ll add the software to the video description.

I used ti it’s on my computer now so it shows I’m on there. That’s weird it showed off line. Must have been where we where in the mountains without cell service. 99% of them time I’m on there

I did a live video of the repeater today but the MXR10 is doing great it’s at my father-in-law’s house running everyday on a node
Have you recently experienced issues with vox for zello? I have been unable to utilize vox.
I. Moved away from vox and I’m testing a comport board my friend makes. I have a vox set ii I’ll have to try and see if it still works
what's the weather app your running on the computer ? Curious about it is it tied to the repeater and gives weather warnings?
I believe it’s WX weather. It doesn’t play warnings but ever hour on the hour it plays a weather update time date temperature wind speed and direction. I can make it play special announcements but I don’t. I’ll have it on my zello app soon so you can hear it
Can you said your wife can be in Roanoke amd you can be camping with out cell service and still be able to communicate. Wouldnt both devices need cellular or Internet access?
As long as her cell phone has internet access she can talk to me over the radio. Her phone talks to the computer the computer turns it into a single the radio can read and it will broadcast over the repeater. We camp in range of the repeater most of the time

@@UrbanOverlanding I was 19 miles coon hunting the other night and hitting it with a handheld Iv talked to a guy a few weeks ago that was 22 miles on google maps

Do you have issues with the repeater Squelch tail tone feed back to Zello as a separate transmit?
I do but I have a part I’ll be putting on there tonight that will fix that problem.

Same here but it’s a simple fox
If you look in the video description you will see my zello link I have the part wiring now. There’s a date and time playing every hour and a morse code tone every 15 minutes all that can be cut on and off with a simple click. There is no more tail tone
So this works with NO INTERNET AT ALL?
I think you mean “will this work with no internet at all”, the best answer I can give you is Kinda, the date, time and Id beacon would work as the computer is just counting. The zello and weather wouldn’t work because they require the internet

I didn’t have a link I googled zello free and keep looking till I found it it’s simple to download and use
