  • The 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen ("patent motorcar") is the world's very first usable modern automobile. Designed to carry people, this early car was sold for the cost of about $150 US dollars (equivalent to $4,524 in 2021). We were privileged to not only witness a startup and tune to smooth idle, but also a once-in-a-lifetime ride along with Brian Murphy of the Blackhawk Collection. This high-quality replica one is historical AND hysterical and you'll love to join in the fun today - In stellar 4K and - In the Garage!

Did you know the story about Bertha Benz taking the Motorwagen out on a 60-mile road trip without Carl knowing?
Great Story! And she took two of the kids along to go visit her mother!

It would be easy to electrify this. Just add a front hub motor and throw all the electronics behind the seat and voila. All you would need is the frame, rear wheels and the steering mechanism.
