Historic student protests for Palestine at UC Davis and Stanford

- Colleges and universities across the US have turned into battlegrounds for the Palestinian solidarity movement, as students mobilize against their schools' financial entanglements with the Israeli occupation. At UC Davis and Stanford, student-led struggles have made historic achievements. UC Davis activists recently passed a bill in student government to boycott and divest from all “corporations complicit in human rights violations against Palestinians." At Stanford, students protesting their university's complicity in the genocide in Gaza just ended the longest sit-in in the school's history, camping out for over 120 days. The Real News speaks with student organizers on their recent achievements on their respective campuses, and how to keep the student movement in solidarity with Palestine going.
Panelists include: Batool, a Palestinian fourth-year political science student at UC Davis and vice president of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), UC Davis chapter; Malak, a Palestinian second-year neurobiology major at UC Davis and treasurer of SJP, UC Davis chapter; Seena, a Palestinian fourth-year double major in cognitive science and political science at UC Davis, and the president of SJP, UC Davis chapter; Farah, a second-year student at Stanford and co-president of SJB, Stanford chapter; and Hana, a student at Stanford and one of the organizers of the Stanford Sit-In to Stop Genocide.

I've been surprised but optimistic when I hear from my 17 year old grandson how his peers see this issue. Lot's of hardcore "Christian" influence in this conservative southern county. The military is after these highschool kids though, he gets regular promotions from various branches. Thankfully, he's not imclined.

esides historical reasons, about %50 of Jerusalem and at least %5 of the Palestinian region was Jewish in the 1890’s … they fought against the British occupation. It is racist propaganda that Israel had no Jewish Palestinian revolutionaries at its roots.
There are lyes, distasteful langue. But anger and hate is locked in your head. They are thoughts. Stop attempting to control thought.
What did they say that was a lie, if I may ask? Would you care to give examples?
People are wonderful, the systems are corrupt.
Listening to these students gives me hope for American and the world. Clear thoughts, compassion, high sense of responsibility, great moral compass. I hope their life experiences strengthens these qualities and allow them to always work for the good of all human beings.

You still believe that lie? Even Israel finally admitted it had lied, quietly, after they had the reaction they wanted.
The only Israeli baby that died was a 20 moth old toddler, and he was shot by an IDF soldier!
In fact a significant number of those who died, if not the majority, died directly by IDF actions.
After decades of occupation and degradation of the Palestinians, and denial of basic equal rights in an apartheid “open air prison” , a massive revolt is not entirely surprising. However, what Hamas did, murdering some many Israeli citizens and military was horrific.
Interesting that you're still repeating a blatant lie that has been debunked and even Israeli officials confessed that it was not true. Have you even seen the reports and videos that show how Israeli tanks and helicopters shot the Israeli houses and people from the Nova festival because they didn't want them to be taken hostages?
