It’s ironic how Ke Huy Quan, in his first Oscar win, radiated purity, sincerity, and humility in his heartfelt acceptance speech, while Robert Downey Jr., embodying Tony Stark, displayed obliviousness or obnoxiousness, which was rather off-putting.
Downey Jr. has always been a piece of work and he is going to continue to be a piece of work.
Ke Huy Quan didn't deserve the Oscar, it was ridicolous how low the Academy felt, that's the only disrespectful thing I see in the video.

Watch us learn in an interview RDJ was on beta blockers and other anti-anxiety meds before his name was called. I don’t think he planned to ignore Ke he just knows Rockwell and the other presenters personally so there was instant eye contact and thanks when they congratulated him. RDJ whether he admits it or not was probably ticked off to start the night with Kimmel’s jokes about his past drug use and jail stints. I think his wife was squeezing his hand during it and he knew well ahead of time he was likely going to win but it just hits differently when you hear someone reading your name after opening an envelope. Lol and he is holding the Oscar like an umbrella indoors behind his back.😂😂

To be honest, he seemed to be partially ignoring KE, usually when an award winner receives an award, they exchange at least a formal greeting with the presenter. KE reached out to Robert the whole time and touched his arm, but Robert ignored him and walked past him as if he was invisible.

Etiquette is purely about behaviour and not about intentions and feelings. (Also not about morals.) One can be polite while hating the other, or be unpolite while actually liking them. I know what it is like to act rude when I am actually anxious, but I also recognise, that my anxiety does not make it not rude.
It is OK, to point out, that not shaking hands with the actor, who gives you the award is bad manners. You can be understanding of course and you can still like RDJ, but it is what it is.
He's okay. He's just self-absorbed and condescending to everyone, it's not personal. He commands respect, even if he's not giving it. It's obnoxious, but it works for him.

I am Korean who used to live in the U.S. for 14 years and I love Amercia, but this is disgusting.

As an asian, I am very disappointed in RDJ. He should not have ignored KHQ like that. He won the Oscar last year. He deserves to hand out the award. Although I am a big fan of RDJ, there’s no doubt that he made a big mistake by not even looking at KHQ. As a famous actor and influencer, he should not ignore somebody for their skin color.
