I had the rare privilege (or call it bhaagyam) of getting this concert in cassette tapes from the golden hands of Mahavidwan Kanjira Harishankar. After almost a year of repeated listening to the concert, I handed over the cassettes back to the MahaVidwan. He patiently waited for me in the AIR office (where he was working then), when I went on permission from my workplace to get this memorable concert.

Pranaamam for a Great Guru on his 112th Birth anniversary🙏. How beautifully he is humming hameer kalyani. A layman like me can recognise ragam when the great semman sings 🙏. Nowadays it is difficult to know even ghana ragams like kalyani when this generation's singers renders
This is classic concert Carnatic music. A treat for all listeners. All artists are legends in their own rights. Amazing. The youngest of them might be the most memorable for me! (mridangam)
When ever I decide to listen some Carnatic music and relax, invariably, I choose Semangudi. His Kacheri Chittam, Niraval, virutam, singing swaram in the ragam are all so unique. There are so many youngsters so good, but I don't know they go for gymnastic in a eager to show they are great. They also sing unknown kritis totally ignoring Tyagaraja, Dikshiitar, Swati tirunal, making the concert boring. Unless the audience is able to reorganize the kritis and raga , they wouldn't enjoy the concert. You should know how to form a concert which called kacheri thittam.
I just got stuck at the Shlokam starting at 2:02:16. The lyrics are not compromised and each raga's true lakshanam is brought to life. The repartee by the inimitable LGJ on the violin is just out of the world. It feels like Sri Lalgudi absorbed the essence of SSI's singing of the raga and reinterpreted them with his own creativity. Esp. Sahana, Kapi and Hamsanandi -- there is nothing left to be said. The concert is 2.5 hrs but it has been 6 hrs and I am yet to finish the concert.
