You did your homework bro, and the wheel guy knows his stuff 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Set up looks great. This way you can have every day fun in addition to drag days.
Good choice with the PS4S, this is the best overall street tire all things considered (very good dry traction, outstanding wet traction, out of this world hydroplaning resistance, low noise, more than acceptable tread life). Congrats 👍
Phenomenal choice Speedy. Great research to aid the decision and keeping the factory style look was genius IMO. Enjoy your car !! Best to you and Mrs Speedy for the 4th of July holiday !
Much appreciated!
Good job speedy your probably one of the few that wouldn’t worry about taking a small trip and enjoying it as a real car that happens to be stupid fast you bought it enjoy it let the haters hate I doubt they have a 170 it’s nice to see something different than following what everyone else does and deem it cool.
I drive mine no doubt!
Great set up & John knocked it out of the park for ya! Wheels fit & look great & those Michelin PS4's are amazing. I have them on my widebody. Best street tire IMHO
I think it looks clean. i like keeping the rake/stance. appreciate you doing the leg work on the setup, super helpful.
Glad you like it! Took some research and trial and error to get those proportions right. I was worried there wouldn't be a solution but this is perfect.
Great wheel choice. Refreshing to see something else besides all black wheels. That trend has gotten old.
Looks right as far as the stance. I have a friend with a 2018 Demon. They are the same way. If you look the Demon springs they're longer than the Superstock or Redeye. Good job.
Yup, looks killer cool. Glad you have a new ride to make videos about. Interesting to see what you can do to improve performance in either power or making it grip.
Focusing on the 60' is my next project.
Looks Amazing!! Killer set up.
Although I’m not a fan of the devil’s rim design, these look fantastic on your demon. Yes, Dodge should have included an option for a street rim/tire package.
Beast looking DEMON 💪💯
Honestly, not sure about the rims. The set up looks perfect.
Agreed. Outer lip looks strange
Agreed, Demon 170 factory setup is spot on... 20" wheels, and the rear gap looks.... different? Not a hater, just not a fan.
Looks great! Well done 😎.
Always enjoy your videos great choice 👍
Very sharp set up bud. I haven't seen any new videos for awhile, I'll have to check out my notifications. Since I last commented I got my shop built and just finished installing 5 each Advantage Lifts, one of them is the side by side. Shop is 60x120x18 with in floor heat and 6 mini splits and 3 large fans for the air conditioning, also epoxied the floor. I must say, it looks amazing! Take care and don't work too hard!!
Looks really sharp! 👍
Thanks! 👍
I LOVE THIS.
They look amazing 🔥my 19 challenger hellcat redeye narrow body has 20x10 with 275 40 20 front and 20x11 with 305 35 20 rear
I agree with you thats the way it should have been come from the factory. Looks absolutely beautiful.
Man that looks sweet ! I have the little brother the GT model same color I would love to have wider tires on mine. I know it doesn’t need them but I am going for the look 👀 I just love the challenger I am 72 owned mopar all my life I raced a 74 Cuda with a built 340 ran constant low Elevens.
I do believe the 20s inch rims looks a lot better. I have 20s on my shakedown.
Looks great!
Finally a tire guy that knows what he's talking about...
looks perfect
Looks good. I have to say. I prefer the look of the Mickey Thompson better. But the new ones do the trick.
I'm not a fan of how the OEM setup looks and this is MILES better IMO. The Challenger is a BIG car and the 17s throw off the body lines for me. However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.
Not bad.nice profile. Not sure on the outer lip of new wheels though. Like the stock drag wheels the best, but street tires might have trouble hooking up like the M/T's. Either way, nice job, had to be expensive
The wheels look amazing.
Good call on the OEM TPMs sensors.... I chased phantom issues on M000 for almost a year because I used aftermarket NTK O2 sensors instead of factory O2 sensors!
Yep, these cars seem to be picky, OEM is the only way to go. Interestingly the P/N changes in 2022 but they're much cheaper than previous years. Go figure.
Dang those looks really good!! That was a good catch on rear tire height.
That was the tricky bit for sure.
Looks great
Thanks!
Looks fantastic. I just got snagged by the tpms change as well. Put my 11" rims from my 18 HC on my 23 and they didnt work. Had ot get the 22+ sensors. Dumbass Stellantis. Didnt expect you to put the 8yr old tires on the front, Ive always thought tires should be replaced around 7 years.
Very Nice!
Thanks!
Crazy only a 305 fit in the back. Been running 315's on my narrow body with lowering springs.
Way more than a 305 would fit, but there's nothing wider that I could find that had the 29.4" diameter requirement to maintain proper ratio. 315s came on it stock.
What a beautiful car.. good luck 🍀👍🏻….😎
Beautiful car speedy!
Not too bad but,
the stock look is best imo.
Love 18's best on Demon as well as Super Stock. I think maybe if wheel was black it wouldn't look as bad with the 20's, because the lip of rim would blend with tire better both being black and wheel wouldn't look so big. I personally like more tire sidewall than all wheel. Definitely 18's at the most for me. But awesome car either way. Saw a destroyer gray one with black accents over top that I put an offer on....hope it goes through🙏
With the ride height on the back of these cars nothing in an 18 would look right. Too much fender gap. Good luck with yours going through, hope you're not paying a markup!
I have a 1320 with drag radials and it does get annoying having to clean the rubber dust off the back of the car. Might have to give the pilots a look
WAY less black dust on the back of the car now so BONUS.
Looks killer. Can you post a link to tire/wheeler dealer you got those from?
jon@bestwheeldeals.com
Looking good, Speedy! Just curious...did you consider going with the wider 345/30/ZR20 tires Pilot Sport 4S's for the rear? I've heard good things about these extra wide tires on the forums and was considering them for when my SRT Hellcat Widebody needs new rubber in the future.
I considered just about every size. Those would not fit right on the 170 due to the rear ride height like mentioned in the video. Too much wheel gap to the fender.
Another comment. Is there not a tire that would go on the stock rims. With the same profile as the MT. But more street-able.
Short answer is not that I could find. Dodge made it hard on us with the way the car sits to get a street setup that keeps the proportions right. Also, I plan to race mine and want to keep the factory 17x11 with MT ET R tires for the track. The setup I have keeps the same dimensions and keeps it from looking like a 4x4. My inside info suggests that this will be close to what the Direct Connection catalog street setup will be, IF it gets produced.
I like that idea the very best and make it lighter as well. More sidewall tire always looks the best on a drag car or muscle car whether it be street or strip imo
I have a about 450 and mickeys are gone, the street killed them. You have 1600 you must baby it ? Your new set up looks good I was waiting on your video.
Only 450 miles? Man you're either doing burnouts from every stop light or drifting at the take over lol.
@@SpeedysGarage no just highway pulls, it lays rubber down in drag mode.
I have those lug nuts on both of my Hellcats.
looks real, real nice! Interested in your old OEM Brass Monkeys if you can ship them!
I've had a couple people ask about them, shoot me an email and I'll reach out if the others fall through.
You’re Lucky it came with a radio. Lol
LOL
Curious what the new wheels weigh.
I didn't weight them but lighter than factory based on how they felt lifting them on the car. It's the street setup so not that it matters.
Nice setup looks great. I’ll disagree with you though on the factory tires to me it’s a drag focused car I 100% agree with it coming with the ET streets. For dodge to claim the times it needs to come with that setup OEM. The redeye is the street car…..
They could have still made the claim with a foot note "requires optional drag radials" though. All this did was make it a project for owners.
Really only matters if you like the new set up. Personally, I would have matched the Michelins up front, instead of having mis-matched manufactures. Not a fan of the Pirellis at all... again, really only matters what you like. To me the wheels look like they came off an SXT V6... if they were all black, may look better.
Perillis suck for sure, but I ran 555RII rear and Perilli front on the old car for 7 years so it's what I'm used to. When these wear I'll do the PS4 up front though. As for SXT wheels you must not have looked closely at a set from a 170, they're almost the same spoke pattern which was the goal. Cheers!
@@SpeedysGarage I am very familiar with the 170 wheels... I am happy you like your custom wheels, cheers.
What is the price on the OEM sensors?
Like $30/ea for the 2022 and up sensors. Previous ones are quite a bit more for some reason.
Would be interested in your stocks from go mango
i see you do a lot of research on whatever part of the car you are working on to bring out the best in that area so instead of running a street/strip tire on the rear why not get lighter rims and track only drags to get the most potential out of the car
I have that already. Check out the track day video.
You know tires are "technically" only good for 6 years from manufacture date. Wheels do look great on the car.
It used to be 10. I do keep an eye on them for drying out etc. These are still like new.
@@SpeedysGarage When I was a wee lad working in my grandfather's station (circa 1975ish), tires were as good as they were round (no predetermined life).
And I agree about it used to be 10yrs, Discount Tire started doing the deal where they wouldn't touch your tires (INCLUDING NOT DISMOUNTING THEM) if they were older than 10yrs. I've even heard of them not touching wheels that were older than 10yrs, which is even more insane than tires.
Now I'm starting to here this 5 or 6 year old thing. And while I think that's insane too, I will say that my Michelin PS4Ss that are 5ish years old and getting pretty hard.
It seems that whatever rubber technology is being used doesn't age like it used to.
@@danielhayes6571 I thought it was 5 years.
Uh, no. Not a fan of the 50/50 body style, but the stock wheel set kinda made up for it. The combo on it now, 🤮🤮
Don’t want to be the hater in here, but you got a car I’m sure you paid well over 100k for and you got mix matched tires. Can you get anymore lame!
Why pay $800 for more tires when I had a brand new set? I ran Nitto 555R2 rear and Pirelli fronts on my Hellcat for 7 years too, guess I'm SUPER lame lol.
Looks Great !
