    That was good info
My don't buy has been the drill wheel and ruler.
I love the 28 pill box , light pad, the laptop stand, and add more zest trays.
I wish I could find the purple craftables binder.
But I have only been diamond painting since Nov 2023 and have only completed 8 to 10 painting so far. Because of my job being a trucker. I don't have much time to invest in this hobby right now. But hopefully, in 10 to 15 years, when I retire, I can just sit back and diamond paint.

    Hi Daphne,
Thank you for showing all us fans the items that weren't for you.
For me it was the rulers. I found I could not use them. A friend of mine said I should use to place dry pasta in the water. I told her, there is no pasta that skinny. Like you I went through several storage cases. I have no problem with some of them, but others if others if I try to open it means I have to get out the micro vacuum. My favorite storage is Elizabeth Ward.
I would never think of using a draft table for Diamond painting. Though I do think they are cool, and had one when I look Geometry courses in high school, Cerritos College and CalState Fullerton. Okay I like weird math.
Love having light pad. I have all four sizes. The reasons why I like my light pads are these: 1. My overhead light is a chandelier ( I Dp on the dining table).2. I am 67 years old, so I need all the close help I can get. 3. I have a birthmark behind my left eyeball. 4. Believe it or not when the light pad is on, I can find all of Herschel's shed hair and fur.
I love cover.minders. Basically I use them and collect them. They are cheaper than my collection of Gemstones.
I also have a collection of Washi Tape. Since I am ADHD, I will buy an item until my brain calms down.
What don't I like? My inability to stop buying.
Thank you for showing things I thought about buying and now won't

I have had every single storage situation known and I bought them in multiples, so certain was I that "this one" would be just perfect. They weren't. Then I found EW and gave away all my other storage to some DP'ers from another group. (I now have 8 regular size and added two of the new small knockoffs from Fansells upon your recommendation. And I love them. I actually always have 10 kits kitted up, so I can just easily decide what to do next. I know this is probably a strange way of doing things, but it works for me.) With my chronic pain issues, I've found an elbow-bent pen tip and Glue Dots, a desk-top easel, an overhead light (can't stand light pads) and my little rolling cart to hold just about everything make all the difference in the world for my comfort. I have bought too many trays that I thought were going to change my life, and the same with pens that I simply loved looking at. But after four years I find my favorite tray is the large white one with the spout. And my favorite pen is a pink resin one I bought on Amazon for $7 that fits my hand perfectly. Your videos always teach me something or confirm something I've always thought.

I did have to use a light pad on my last project because there were symbols that were sometimes hard to see and the light pad helped me differentiate between the different symbols. However, I am currently working on smaller projects and I don’t need the light pad. I use the light pad I got to use with my Cricut craft machine so I was fortunate I already had one on hand.

I agree with less regrets, and more learning what doesn't end up working for you. What works for many may not work for some. I appreciate the tools and advices and the information of options ive found in the last year.
A light pad is a big help for me as i have an older house with not great overhead light, also light sensitivity i don't really like main room lights anyway. Just my desk lamp throws too much shadow.
I do use the yellow dog trays with the step. But thats a lot in how i shake and hold my trays, and what direction down a tray row i work.
I absolutely do not like the angled work surface. And wouldn't go that route. Its too odd of an angle for my hands and arms, id lose so much precision.
My storage flops I just use for the long term storage of leftover drills i hold on to.
Some of my flop items, or ive upgraded further ive given to my aunt to try out. And some have worked for her.
Still a great idea on a video.

I have entirely TOO MANY trays of different sizes and colors…..and I keep returning to my DAC tray. I’ve also tried many different things in my single placer. I tried glue dots a long time ago and couldn’t get the hang of it then. So glad I watched your videos and now I have glue dots in ALL my single placers and don’t plan to ever try anything else. I regret buying too many of an item (part FOMO, part “it’s on sale”, part retail therapy): pens, trays, storage. I even bought the mini tool box from Lowe’s many months ago and have still not taken it out of the box. By the way, after watching this video, I’m going to pull out some Cat Proof trays, I LOVE them!

I definitely like the headlamp light with the magnifying glasses. You choose your strength of magnification like reading glasses. It lights up nicely with no shadows. Runs about $13 on amazon. The charge lasts a long time plus recharges super fast. I need reading glasses so this replaces those. I use it for beading now too. I look like an absolute goof ball nerd or coal miner, but works great for me. I had to have multiple trays with a tray organizer. The trays are all filled and I just grab the one I need without having to empty tray of one color and refill with next color. Great if you miss one drill and need to do that color again. Tried the ruler. Yes, different sizes. 140 and 141. They look great all perfectly straight but need to watch the spacing on seaming together though. And it is incredibly slow going. Need to roll over when lifting as drills want to come back up with the ruler. Helped to build my confidence when starting out. I have had Elizabeth Ward storage for beading (jewelry), however the round containers in case I like the best. Flat surface table. I have a craft table that has three different heights. Middle height works perfect; not quite as high as dining table. And I bought inexpensive puzzle board that spins and has drawers. Put light pad on it and can tape canvas and spin around to get to area I need. I’m new…lol, but learning. Good, useful tools can make it easier.

Videos like this is what saved me from a lot of stuff when I started in 2021. Granted I still bought things I should have thought about like those rolling multiplacer thing but they were ones that attach to a dp pen like a placer and it still was not for me. I'm a huge researcher so I did so much looking at other's options before I started diamond painting and because I make beaded things already I knew what I might not like, but these videos are valuable.
I love the belle art de nicole trays, but I learned I have to get light color or translucent trays because the dark colors are hard to see the drills in at night even with a lot of overhead light. Also 1 of her older version of trays 2.1 with the type of spout you have on yours, doesn't really work for me too. I also got one of those grid trays. I don't know what I expected it to do for me. I think I just wanted it because it looked cool. I use it but not often.
Uhhhh you have me second thinking the magnifying overhead lamp not for the light but for the magnifying glass. I'm always bending forward so low to see symbols from far away.
Also with coverminders I have to remind myself everytime I see a really cute one that I only have 1 go to one that I love because the magnet is really strong. But if I ever want one I can buy a cheap enamel pin and make one.

Daphne, this video made me subscribe to your channel. I started this awesome hobby last winter with 3 journal kits I purchased from a dp party. I finished my first real painting last month and it was small so I purchased a light pad that I got a fabulous deal on and it helped. I started my 2nd painting this past Sunday, and I'm not using a light pad, I'm using release paper (which I love), and I'm multiplacng. I have the storage case as well as the Harbor Freight containers, which have been good for me. Being so new to the community, I'm still learning what works, but those containers connected together just didn't make sense to me so I stayed away from them. Hearing you let me know that my issues weren't off.
I also thought about a drafting table, but wondered if I'd like the angle approach. I do have to be mindful of my neck and back l, so I make sure I stretch ever so often. I love the concept of the Elizabeth Ward storage and now because I have a 2nd opinion on them, they'll be my next purchase.
I am considering storage for my enhancement drills and I've seen beautiful labels on Etsy, but i just feel like it's too much for my budget.
Oh last thing, because my overhead light is good, but my eyes are changing as I gather days, I purchased those glasses with the swappable magnifier lenses and an LED light!!! I LOVE them! That's all I got😂! Have an amazing reatbof yoir day and weekend.

I agree on so many points! The first small connected container system you showed was nearly impossible for my arthritic thumb to open! I love the small size, but in order for me to open them, I’d spill the drills. So I love independent storage bottles! I have a couple of light pads…hate them. I also had to go with overhead lighting. That sent me on a search for good lighting offered by Harbor Freight and Amazon. Went through many before I found two clip on adjustable brightness desk lights worked best. I can move them where whatever shadows are left by one can be lighted by the other one. Finding the perfect table was also an issue. I don’t like tilted tables. Finally found a flat adjustable height table that is advertised as computer/ lecture table and my lights clip on to the edges nicely! Took awhile, but finally was able to make a station that works for me!

I regret buying the circular storage containers that come in the case. I know some people love these, but I hate trying to get the drills back into them. They are too small. In addition, they don't hold much. And I also regret all of my cheap amazon drill pens. They're small and feel awful in my hand. If I could do it again, I would have applied that money to my custom pens from custom pen makers. I also wouldn't buy every diamond painting I like. I have really slowed, because I hate hating so many here taking up space that I may never even get to painting. I will be destashing many. I also hate the titled board thing, I bought. Hi Daphne. I loved this video. I bought a light box that I could charge (and had one given to me) only to discover I got headaches from it. I don't really like the round storage bottles. What I like it 4 small square in a row containers. They work really well for me. So I think I'll get square containers and put them in those little storage cases that come with the round storage packs. I didn't know my style at the beginning. I had no idea how much I'd love doing it. At the beginning I bought practical things like a diamond painting book or passport with special drills. Little did I know that diamond painting wasn't going to be practical. I've bought a couple of pens that are too heavy for me, and hurt me. So I use the pen that comes in kits and use the scrunchy. Overall I've not spent too much on diamond painting tools that I've not liked.😊

Back when I heard about the harbor freight containers, I bought a few for myself, my sister and her bf because we were all diamond painting together, I don’t think they diamond paint anymore but I still do. As far as the containers tho, a while back I turned them into my spare drill storage which as you talked about they spill sometimes. I need to figure out a new system because I keep both rounds and squares in the same little container just have one type in a baggie and it’s kinda annoying but it would also be annoying figuring out a new system. I thought about trying your system!
I have a couple 3d printed trays that I bought that I was hoping I would love. Ones in the shape of a camper and the other is a paw print and has one bigger tray section and then 4 smaller ones. I don’t use them, as much as I was hoping I would love them when I first got them.
The trays I always go back to are a couple that I got in kits on amazon, the big white tray that I got with the ARTDOT storage containers and a blue one the same size.
I also got one of the rollers from amazon, the one I got was different tho. It was the resin pen and then came with a couple different attachments like multiplacers, and the roller, and also the tape stuff, and a couple of those little mat things that you can set your tray on so it doesn’t slide around I think?? I have never used those. But, this was a long comment so I apologize. Love your videos!!

I’m the same way about a drafting table. I ended up buying a desk easel, because I couldn’t fit a drafting table, but I found it uncomfortable to hold at the angle required and there was no where to actually put my extra stuff needed. It just sits between my desk and my wall right now on the off hand I ever do want to paint.
Thankfully, I’ve avoided buying the rulers knowing I probably wouldn’t like them, even if I did want them once upon a time. But another for me is tic-tac containers - they’re so flimsy and don’t even hold more than the 28 four-connected ones. I’ve instead used my tic-tac containers to hold my seed beads and I do love them for that. The wax pick up pens is also a regret - I feel like I can’t place the drills perfectly and I’m a hard presser, so they deform quickly. Instead I’ll just use a second resin pen with wax.
