I know that all I'm really interested in is the special shades. I know that an order from an indie brand of a few multichromes would scratch that itch. Pat's mattes don't blend that well for me and her metallics are blah in my opinion. I decluttered a six pan of hers because ABH suited me better. But she gets me with the dream: the packaging, the curation of shades, the marketing. But it doesn't make financial sense. For me personally every palette has one standout special shade that makes my heart pitter patter. Am I really going to spend that much given I only really care about just one shade? No obviously not. But singles also don't captivate me the way palettes do. I think what I would have loved is the Plain Jane palette which I think of as being an entire palette of special shades similar to Pat's. But I've only ever seen it on CZcams. I've bought three Roen quads which are totally different but fit that brief of being special, with little redundancy, and being in an aesthetically satisfying palette. So while Pat calls to me, I've resisted her motherships this far. I really want a curated collection I can hit pan on. To get all the special shades I want I'd have to buy four of her palettes and only use half the shades in each. So much waste. Sorry Pat, I love you, but only from afar! 💔
