After seeing the BPKS knives reviewed on a couple channels, I ordered 2. Was blown away by the quality of the sheaths and the knives themselves. For the price point…amazing value. I ordered several more and gifted them to my young nephews. Yes, there’s better handles out there, better fit and finish on handles but for the money, I can’t believe you get a full tang blade, decent handles and a great leather sheath for so little. Supporting a business in Ukraine is ok by me too. Great knives.

About Condor Terrasaur and Terava Jakaripuukko.
If we talk between terrasaur and jakaripuukko 110, then choose terrasaur. Thinner blade, more belly, little sharper point and better sheath. Mora type sheath are much better for bushcraft / hardwork dirty use.
And if you want to choose between terrasaur and jakaripuukko 140, then choose jakaripuukko 140 cause that's really good overall knife. Not too big for detail works and not small for "survival" aplications. Also good in camp kitchen and in wood splitting. You can also use it as leuku.
So yeah, make choose on your needs.
    Stay sharp. 😁

I'm not a bushcamper but a survivalist only, so I don't spend much time on maintenance - living in northern Germany with North Sea and Baltic Sea nearby, I 'll always go with stainless steel knives and plastic or Kydex sheaths. I don't care about the factory edge they put on or if the spine is sharp, because I ALWAYS sharpen my knives myself and can easily adjust that. At last I don't care about ferro-rods, I always take a BIC-lighter in a waterproof rolltop plastic bag close to my body, it so far never failed on me even in a cold and wet environment, so my go to is the Mora Companion HD in stainless and a waterproof packed BIC - it was 20€, now it's 26€ - how do you beat that?

I'm a huge fan of the Mora2000, the precursor of Kansbol. It's the best camp/lightweight hiking knife I've ever found. It has a nearly identical blade to kansbol, but with polished stainless and rounded spine. It's a little lighter weight and the leather belt loop on sheath has rivets directly to the sheath. The handle is much more comfortable and better for reverse grip. It can still be found for usually only a few more dollars than kansbol.

The knife that comes with me the the jakaripukko. Despite all the money i spent on expensive knives i decided what i needed was reliability beyond anything else and thats what the jakaripukko provides. Being someone that usually buys pemium gear it was weird to buy a $40 knife and put it in a $60 custom sheath. It was weirder to carry only $100 worth of a knife into the woods considering how much i normally spent on primary blades.

a mora or hultafors is good enough if you carry a hatchet. if you have a mora, a hatchet and a good saw you're almost unstoppable.

Always been a huge fan of case knives due to the quality and plus they hold a really sharp edge however in 1992 my dad gave me a 192 buck vanguard and I've carried it every day since then,I've worn out 5 different sheaths over the years but the knife is still going strong and gets alot of use

  • @alaskaraftconnection-alask3397

Good stuff DBK-guys!!! These selections are available, affordable. great value for relative low cos, etc... just about anybody can obtain all of them to have a go at discovering preferences like pros vs. cons for whatever various tasks. With BPS: BPS Knives B1- Bushcraft Knife With Leather Sheath is in my experience more favorable model for bushcraft. I'll add that it performed really well, good grind height/angle, maintained its edge, etc. steaking Hawaii Axis Deer Backstrap plus Alaska Moose Backstraps and tenderloins. Jääkäripuukko in 110 & 140 are excellent!!! Jääkäripuukko represents the best and most reliable of the bunch as a 'fieldknife'. One exception to this is on-water uses... here stainless Garberg gets the 'fieldknife' win along with multimount sheath. I like some Martinii models... but would not recommend those ones... Too flimsy overall. While I can say vintage Ontario butcher-type knives are Good... the newer stuff not so much. Hard to go wrong with the tool box Companion HD. Can't say much on the Hults... but would not hesitate along similar value and task lines.

Just want to thank you for a second week for making this week better. Home in South Florida destroyed and me and kids are living in a shelter for at least another week. Your video came up and we all sat and watched it and felt comforted. I have a boss for last month and it is a beast but you have to treat the handle in swamp environment but it is a beast. Not best edge retention but it is easy to sharpen and quality control was great. I also took time to reinforce belt strap. That is the only complaint. One of rivets came off but a little leather showing and snow seal on sheath and it is awesome. Thanks for all the time you put in these it shows.

I was wondering if you guys could review the böker bronco knife it’s more of a buscrafters knife in Mikie (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) favorite blade steel CPM 3V and it’s Böker from Germany so it’s not the American or chinese made ones
And the price is not crazy at all not really over the top but it’s still expensive.

Those fingerguards on the Mora and Hultafors are annoying. For the toolbox knife I highly reccomend a Mora 510 which is even cheaper, has one of the best tangs from Mora and no fingerguard.

Jaakari Puukko is kind of ovarated. I'm one of those who got a lemon, with th worst heat treatment I've ever seen on a knife. My 110, chiped like crazy, no matter what angle or geometry I tried.
For those who will blame the user, when they didnt evven care to do a reasearch, where they would fave found, that there are many other people, having thesame experience as mine, they have to know, that I sharpen/fix knives for living, since the late 90's, when I've also got my degree in Chemistry/metallurgy, in 1996, just because of my love for knives and steel. So... yes, some Jaakari Pukkos, come with bad, really BAD heat treatment. Not to mention, the uneven grinds and so on. Handle also gives hand muscle pain, after some minutes of use.

Yeah. YOU got a lemon 🍋
I've had my 110 for 7 years now.
It is indestructible. It takes and keeps an amazing edge and handles like a dream. I'm sorry to hear you got a bad one. It's like the Kershaw Launch 5 I had. It was the biggest piece of 💩 that I ever had. Everyone tells me that I got a lemon, but I still won't buy one again.
