  • In this video we check-out the DIY WATER TANK setup in the D-MAX build. I wanted a super clean install with as much capacity as I could fit for those extra long trips and overlanding advertures. We've squeezed a 30L and a 40L tank as well as a 12v pump for a heap of onboard storage!

    ⏩ What's with the gloves?
    Not after any CZcams fame here which is why I'm not in the vids - they're not about me they're about the how-to! I used the gloves for the first couple of projects I filmed which just happened to be messy ones and it kinda just became a thing - easy to spot my videos! If that's not your thing and you'd prefer to watch a face, all good, I won't be offended, there's plenty of better looking ones to watch already on CZcams ;)
    ⏩ Where did this start?
    I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
    ⏩ What will you find here?
    The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)

    This is the video I’ve been hanging out for 😊 The other half and I are keen to see to see the 40lt installed.
    The 30lt tank, would that be the void for a long range fuel tank?
    Thank you so much for posting Adam, great work as always.

      Hmm could be, can't say for sure as haven't played with a long range tank. Would assume so

    Great work! Do like the filler location 👌 I managed to fit a Camec 70L tank above the rear axle and even sits above the fuel tank. Trayback though so might be a tad different.

      @VideoShowMeHow  Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah more room with the tray, is a bit tight under the tub 😂

    Im sure you'll cover it in part 2, but where did you source the spare wheel mount from? Did it bolt into existing holes?
    I've been checking the channel esch day since my last canp trip waiting for the water tank install 👍

    Abber tanks based in SE QLD do custom food grade tanks to fit where u want and have the outlets and inlets located better for volume usage.

    Great Mod, love the place yuh put the inflow as well! All cars n trucks should have some sort of drinkable water on board if yuh ask me!!

      Yeah that worked well, mains pressure to fast full too 👍

    Adam, can you tell me more about the new wheel holder, & why you have changed it?
    Thanks

      Showed in the vid, the factory winder has a pole that goes through from the back, will hit the 40L tank

    I think I need to get a bigger pump. That would be great for washing the kayak after a swim.

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Před měsícem

      Yeah the extra pressure is great. Of course just gotta be mindful of any waste if you're on a trip etc but man it makes a difference filling the billy etc

    Great stuff mate! Just wondering if you could say what the “bulkhead” style water fitting you used for the filler is? I’ve got a similar setup but never setup a good permanent filler

      @VideoShowMeHow  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Was just a male to male fitting from Bunnings :) Hole saw out the right size and screw the back fitting in from behind - easy access once you unscrew the inner fender

  • @seventhheavenholisticheali6035

    What stopped you from putting 2 of the 40L tanks in &putting the 30L tank in that area?

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Před 2 měsíci +1

      2x 40L wouldn't fit. You'll see what I mean in part 2

    How do you stop dust getting into the overflow/air relief and where are you going to store a spare wheel.

    • @VideoShowMeHow
      @VideoShowMeHow  Před 2 měsíci

      The overflow had an overflow had on it to help stop dust (RV style) and like it said in the vid, spare goes in the same spot with the new mount, sits flush against the tanks

      Yep, well, other than drilling holes to run bolts etc. But yeah otherwise fits
