- There's a new type of fastener from FastenMaster called VersaLOK and in this quick video I'll show you why I like these new lag bolts over the LedgerLOKs we are known for using.

I would be interested to hear what DrDecks thinks about "fastenmaster icon screw joist".
Based on the video show in their demo, shear failures will happen due to the application where this thing rests ONLY on a 2x4 setting flat screwed to the ledger board. I would say this is not structurally safe as sheer strength is limited to a 2x4.
I see all your decks have a ledger on the house. A lot of newer houses have brick facade which is not structural. So, a ledger can’t be used. Do you have any videos with free standing decks?
As long as an interior floor’s rim joist is behind the brick, a deck’s ledger board can be attached over the brick. Similarly, if a solid cement foundation wall is behind the brick, the ledger can be attached to the cement with suitable anchor bolts.
With the headlock you can use a #3 Phillips, works just fine. 😊 try it
Today's video is me trying to sell you another brand so please buy so I make some cash off of all your orders 😂
They sell em at all big box stores..... These are great for band boards.
