Please, we need you people to do something about the Yala people of northern Cross River State. Their migration and theur relationships with tge Idoma people. Secondly, also do something about the Ette Idoma people in Enugu State and their migration. Thank you Apa Tv
I am full of appreciation for Apa TV. I look forward to meeting with your Team, because some of the narrative in the area of history need to be closely and critically examined in the interest of modern generation.
Some of us have listened to the account being given of the history of the Igede people. Though, interesting it is, there are some questions to be clarified. Some of these questions border on:- - Distance from migration origin to present location; - Physical features & barriers such as rivers in particular etc. - Some of the present account seem not to have proper foundation, but merely academic assumptions and postulation.; - No one seems not to talk of the"Akpotos" & the "Agatus" that were the aborigines that inhabited the forests East of the River Niger and South of River Benue.who , everybody knows constitute or transform to modern "Idoma" and consequent Idoma language. - The similarity in language and culture is evidence of common aboriginal existence. - The fact remains that all the historical narrative came after the coming of the European. No body has been able to say anything about the existence before the coming of the European that heralded slavery and subsequently, education. - Notice has not been taken of the influence of The Atta Igara or Igala as known by some people that was in control of the Area East of the Niger and South of Benue. - Idoma Chiefdom was a Colonial creation in the 1950s. - To many people, it will be agreed rightly that all these stories are just mere historical assumptions of modern age as the the real historical facts remain hidden in myths, because no one has been able to establish the civilisation that existed before the coming of the Europeans. - There is therefore the need for a thorough endearing historical research rather than the present which only aim has been to earn a certificate for daily bread - a colonial legacy. I will stop here for now. But before then, I will hasten to add that we should look at having a purposeful research team that will unravel all these hidden history. This is because the world was existing before we came and will continue to exist after we have exited. And as we exited so there continue to be changes in our historical narrative. The only saving grace now is this advent of modernity
With all due respect, Mr Okpe and Ajoro seem not to be coherent in their historic narration.. They need to do more research to avoid a floating historical narrative that lacks root
