      I'm just going to say three really powerful and absurdly expensive cards to comically destroy our budgets: Anointed procession, Parallel lives and doubling season that is all. I thought about putting primal vigor but these are the three risk free token and counter multipliers that I'm pretty sure you've mentioned at the end of this video but I figured hey just put something absurdly stupid and powerful for fun as I believe these three cards alone can likely make our budgets at least $300.00 combined total if not higher

    I think the background clan crafter goes perfect in this deck. It reads Commander creatures you own have ", Sacrifice an artifact: Put a +1/+1 counter on this creature and draw a card."
    So it’s the same cost as sacrificing a clue but you get an extra +1/+1 out of it.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  Před 7 měsíci +4

      True, though you have to ask yourself the question - is it worth running Clan Crafter, which in this deck is treated as a clue payoff in this deck, instead of another clue generator to enable the clue token creation in the 1st place. If the answer is yes (because you feel that the clue token generation is good enough) then by all means run it. Personally I found it to be a bit redundant, but that's just me.

    • @casually_lurking
      @casually_lurking Před 7 měsíci +1

      @GrazzetMTG it depends on how much destruction your local meta runs honestly. No permanent type is safe at our tables, so recursion & redundancy is the name of most of my builds games. I'd rather run more fun though; fortune favoring the prepared is a little dull.

      @@GrazzetMTGone card I put in the deck going off of the “second card” sub theme is The Council Of Four. Makes tokens for you and also draws you cards. Similar to Alandra and Jolrael. Another good similar token creator is also Minn, Wily Illusionist. There are so many sub themes and such you can go with.

    Great video as always! Honestly this is one of my favourite decks with all the card draw and ofcourse my boy Koma is in it! Unsure though if I want to keep him in this deck or put him into my reap the tides deck 🤔

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Happy to hear that you liked it!
      Honestly, Koma probably shouldn't be in the deck (I would not have put him in if I was building if from scratch for example) but he is just generally good enough to stay in if you want to keep him. Being able to get an additional 12/12 worth of stats on board per rotation is no joke, and the fact that he can us them to protect himself and/or tap down any of our opponents permanents with them (including their lands if we're especially mean) in just icing on the cake.
      But regardless whether he stays in this deck or not, you should certainly slot him into something - as a LOT of decks would be happy to have him in the 99 or with him leading it.

    A lot of your ideas seem to be in line with the direction I was headed, thanks for your hard work. I'm probably going to replace Morska with Sarah Jane Smith and the Third doctor. Heck might just buy the whole bant doctor deck for parts as the landbase has some decent upgrades.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  Před 7 měsíci

      Fair enough - both decks have a lot over overlap, so I can see that doctor/companion pairing working well as the headliner here.

    I can see the deck winning with a big clue animation turn into a big attack or simply by never running out of fuel. Seems pretty strong even if the value just trickles in slowly through each turn cycle.
    Do you guys think a Genesis Wave is a worthy include for a explosive turn? I can imagine the deck having a problem with overcommitting on the board already. However, slapping a Jaheira or a Urza into a stacked pile of clues and throwing half the deck into play with the sudden influx of mana just seems too fun not to risk it.

      @@thriftypsgr yup, as a deck it is too unfocussed, but the sheer value in cards is amazing. Which allows players to build a collection but also make that precon their own by building a certain way.

    Hey Grazz. Been working on a version of your Blast from the Past deck upgrade. Do you have any card recommendations from this precon that you'd put into that deck as standouts?

  • @burningprodigy
    @burningprodigy Před 7 měsíci

    Interesting. What do you feel about looters in the deck? Being able to trigger Morska off instant speed draw for free during your opponents turn I feel is strong, things like Jace, Vryn's Prodigy, Merfolk Looter and Thought Courier. Also Rampage of the Clans seems like a good finisher too.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  Před 7 měsíci

      Personally, I find looters to be more at home in a deck that is better equipped to make use of its graveyard than this build (aka - reanimator / graveyard matters / etc.) - since they only are half as effective here than they would be in those types of builds. But again, if they work for you, there's no harm in running a few in the build so we can spend mana elsewhere instead of cracking more clues.
      And I can certainly see the argument for running Rampage of the Clans, especially since we can use it to turn all our clues into bodies on our opponents turn to give them all pseudo-haste. Good suggestion!

    would doubling season be better than annointed procession?

    • @quezer0
      @quezer0 Před 6 měsíci +1

      If u have it. Use it.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Depends on the context. Annointed Procession hits the board sooner but doesn't affect counters, while Doubling Season hits the baord a turn later but also doubles the rate at which Morska grows (and our handful of other +1/+1 counter cards). So if speed is more important to you, Annointed Procession may be the better pick, but if raw power if more important, Doubling Season would be better.
      Though to be fair, you really can't go wrong with either one (or both).

    Wow, this deck got me thinking. Deeply.
    Ba dumm tss. Anyways, next up... oh hey, this guy has a theory. A CONSPIRACY THEORY!
    As for my vote, it goes to Sophia. Why? Because Scooby Doo, that's why.

      I'm doing well enough, thanks for asking! Busy as usual sicne its precon season and all (and I have to try and knock all these out in 2 weeks) but I've been managing. Only real concern is that I am unsure if enough people want me to cover the upcoming Fallout commander decks.... I may have to make a stand alone poll to see how people feel about them.

  • @chrisgebben2043
    @chrisgebben2043 Před 7 měsíci

    Really? you didn't suggest "Senator Peacock"?
    that turns all the artifacts into clues and everytime you sac a clue it makes a creature unblockable
    plus im hearing Lonis 2.0 (genetics Expert) has easy infinite combo potential (one example is spark double the lonis and having clark clan ironworks in play)
    and you could go evil with "Fleeting Memories" which is sacing clues to mill people out
    and as for the side commander vote i definitely can't decide between Sophia and tiny (Aka Velma/Shaggy and Scooby doo) and Duskana
    (ps if Duskana wins we all know by default its illegal to not include "Mentor of the Meek" in the deck plus if your brave enough you could literally do stax tribal with it since "Hatebears" count is enormous

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  Před 7 měsíci

      While I agree that Senator Peacock and Lonis, Genetics Expert would be fine additions here - for whatever reason, the price on these hasn't settled anywhere - making it difficult to add them into the build proper and awkward to add in the sidegrades/upgrades since I could get a price for them.
      Otherwise, Fleeting Memories is a bit too much of a "do nothing" enchantment outside of a dedicated mill strategy in my opinion, which is why I skipped it here, but I won't stop you from adding it if you think you can reliably mill out the table.
      And of course, thanks for voting (for whichever one you end up going with).

    Morska not having evasion of some kind is such a huge miss.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  Před 7 měsíci

      Maybe, but she already does a LOT for a 3 cost commander. Giving her some sort of evasion on top of that may have been overkill from a balance perspective (especially Bant has plenty of ways to grant evasion already between granting flying and straight up making things unblockable).
