Don't mistake The Warning for a cover band. This cover was a special project that they were invited to participate in, specifically for Metallica's 'The Blacklist' album. Metallica asked artists to change things up with their songs and be creative. Alessia Cara, a Grammy Award winning artist from Canada, had been asked to participate and, since The Warning shared the same agent as her, they were asked to partner with her, bringing an incredible amount of rock talent to the project. Metallica stated that they really enjoyed the reimagined feel of the song, which is pretty cool. Fans of The Warning know that the band was brought into the spotlight way back in 2014, when they performed a straight-up cover of this song, as very young kids. The video unintentionally went viral and received accolades from Kirk Hammet, of Metallica, leading to international exposure for the band. That 2014 cover was a turning point in these girls' lives, as they were able to really make music a viable possibility for the future. Since then, however, they have written numerous original songs, filling 2 EPs and 3 albums and they are currently recording songs for their 4th full length album, which is their 2nd album out of a 5 album deal that they have with their label, Lava Records. They've toured with Muse, Lzzy Hale's band Halestorm, 3 Days Grace, The Foo Fighters, Sammy Hagar, The Pretty Reckless and Guns-N-Roses, to name just a few bands. They are currently headlining, on tour in the U.S. and will be touring in Europe, in a few months, again opening 5 shows for Muse and continuing on, seperately, as headliners on the European leg of their tour. you got it right. the process Paulina (drums and the writing force of TW) followed was to first "popify" the song to make it easier for Alessia, then they rewrote and rearranged everything else back into Rock. That whole job plus recording and producing was done in ONE week.
I'm glad you are intrigued by The Warning so far... I STRONGLY recommend some of their originals: Evolve (official MV), Disciple (official MV), Choke (live session), Dust To Dust (live at lunario), Dull Knives (live from The Warning Cave), and then all of their august 2022 pro-shot pro-audio live concert videos from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (mexico city), where they performed this enter sandman cover (but without Alessia Cara, so it's much heavier vocally with The Warning's Dany singing lead all the way through), and of course their originals which are 99% of their music. Most fans consider Enter Sandman to be an original of The Warning as they perform it now because it's so different from Metallica's version, and it is the opening track on Metallica's Blacklist album (which features major bands doing covers of metallica songs).

Used to not care for covers at all, but now I have completely gone over TO THE DARK SIDE. Covers can be fire, man. Gets you a good look at the concept of musical arrangement, crazy to see some of the ways artists arrange music. Many artists that do covers will pay some tribute to the original, so it kinda tests your knowledge about music history. They will also have original music of their own you can listen to. Cake's "I Will Survive", Jonathan Young's "Blue", Postmodern Jukebox's "Creep, I could go on, but you've got a ton of suggestions coming your way no doubt. As a first time viewer of your channel, I am not sure what your policy is on how you play back the music during your reactions. The sound of the music video is very low volume and doesn’t really allow your audience to get a true sense of what you’re reacting to. That said, I am glad you gave this song a chance and liked it. One week. Alessia Cara was invited by Metallica to participate in their Blacklist album but didn't know what to do. Once The Warning were invited in to collaborate with her they had one week to get the finished product to Metallica. This was early 2021 still during pandemic lock downs. The instructions from Metallica were to twist the song around, turn it inside out, upside down, and make it your own but just stay true to the lyrics. Dany, Pau, and Ale of the The Warning stripped the song completely down and built it back up initially as a pop song to suit Alessia's style, and then added in more of their own hard rock style before ending with the original riff in half time. Their producer flew down to Mexico to work directly with The Warning, they recorded Alessia's vocals basically over a skype program since she was in Canada, and came up with this masterpiece. All in one freaking week. While they have three albums and an EP with about 50 original tracks, this version of Enter Sandman is still a staple of their live shows albeit a slightly heavier version of it when they're playing it by themselves. These sisters are amazingly talented musicians, songwriters, and performers on a fast track to super stardom. The way I understand it is: Metallica invited a bunch of musicians, particularly non-metal ones to do covers of their black album songs in commemoration of 30 years from its release. Metallica wanted artists of all genres to come up with versions of songs from this iconic album in their own style which they then included in the Blacklist album released last year. They invited Alessia Cara, which is a Grammy winning pop artist. She didn't see herself doing a cover or metal music until her agency suggested her to team with The Warning which was another of their clients and got viral with a straight-up Enter Sandmand cover when they were 13, 11 and 9 years old (look it up here on youtube). They created and recorded this track together working remotely during covid in 1 or 2 weeks. That's why you see Alessia projected in the walls in the video.
I am part of The Warning Army. They had one week to redo this and to get Alessa Cara's from Canada to sing also. Metallica loved it so much they put it as number 1 on the Black List Album. A more likely version as to why it's the first track on the album would be that: 1. Enter Sandman is the first track on the original album. 2. All versions of Enter Sandman are placed in alphabetical order and Alessia Cara's name placed them first. If you don't know for sure why it's first, don't claim that you know.

Everyone else in the comments will ave filled you in on The Warning and Alyssia Cara, who would have been in the video, but Covid meant she couldn't travel, so she ended up projected on the walls. Cover versions can be fun. The Warning got their break doing a good solid cover version of 'Enter Sandman' back when they were little kids. IMHO a good cover version is one which sounds just as good as the original, and a great cover version is one which sounds just as good as the original while being different to the original. Neat that you were thinking about if they'd do a straight up version of the famous riff from Enter Sandman to finish off.

There is absolutely a lot more you should check out from them. They are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, just south of the Texas border. Alessia Cara is a Canadian pop/r&b singer. The Warning reimagined the song here in a very clever way, starting it out as a r&b style song sung by Alessia, and then moved it a hard rock style, and then ended in the original metal style, showing off their incredible stylistic range and chops. Metallica loved this version, by the way. You absolute should check out their Evolve and Error videos, along with a great live cover they did of Metallica's Enter Sandman, which they played straight.

It’s an experience live, check their vocals harmonies in the video of their show in Mexico City last year! These talented sisters play their own music now, and developed greatly. I like the cover of Atlas Rise from their show in the Whisky a GoGo some years ago. With only one guitar, and with great drumming! Hi! Metallica was slightly impressed as well as it is the first track on the Metallica Blacklist Album. You should check out their original music. I suggest Disciple from their Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert from last year. They have opened for some bands that you may have heard of, like the Foo Fighters, Guns and Roses, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, as well as others. They are also opening for Muse in the UK in a few weeks for all of their sold out shows. They have a following of well over a half million followers called the Warning Army. And they love those that love these girls. As a member of said army, I'm on the fence.
Great 1st time reaction to The Warning Michael! The Villarreal Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 23, 21 and 18 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their North American MAYDAY TOUR and ERROR WORLD TOUR. This is a great band! Certainly one of the best up-and-coming bands in Rock. Their original music is fantastic! They manage to be even better live.

Mostly, they write their own songs, and they have been doing it sense their early teens. When they do a cover, you can bet it's going to be amazing.

One week. Alessia Cara was invited by Metallica to participate in their Blacklist album but didn't know what to do. Once The Warning were invited in to collaborate with her they had one week to get the finished product to Metallica. This was early 2021 still during pandemic lock downs. The instructions from Metallica were to twist the song around, turn it inside out, upside down, and make it your own but just stay true to the lyrics. Dany, Pau, and Ale of the The Warning stripped the song completely down and built it back up initially as a pop song to suit Alessia's style, and then added in more of their own hard rock style before ending with the original riff in half time. Their producer flew down to Mexico to work directly with The Warning, they recorded Alessia's vocals basically over a skype program since she was in Canada, and came up with this masterpiece. All in one freaking week.
While they have three albums and an EP with about 50 original tracks, this version of Enter Sandman is still a staple of their live shows albeit a slightly heavier version of it when they're playing it by themselves. These sisters are amazingly talented musicians, songwriters, and performers on a fast track to super stardom. Please check out any of the live videos they have posted on their channel from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022, they will blow your mind.
Fun fact: The band did a straight-up cover of the song back in 2014 which went viral and caught the attention of Metallica. Worth checking out! Subscribed!

This song was an infusion of pop meets rock music , to a metal song , which is not easy to pull off successfully . Also made from a females perspective with a touch of gothic vibe to it
The way I understand it is: Metallica invited a bunch of musicians, particularly non-metal ones to do covers of their black album songs in commemoration of 30 years from its release. Metallica wanted artists of all genres to come up with versions of songs from this iconic album in their own style which they then included in the Blacklist album released last year.
They invited Alessia Cara, which is a Grammy winning pop artist. She didn't see herself doing a cover or metal music until her agency suggested her to team with The Warning which was another of their clients and got viral with a straight-up Enter Sandmand cover when they were 13, 11 and 9 years old (look it up here on youtube). They created and recorded this track together working remotely during covid in 1 or 2 weeks. That's why you see Alessia projected in the walls in the video.

I am part of The Warning Army. They had one week to redo this and to get Alessa Cara's from Canada to sing also. Metallica loved it so much they put it as number 1 on the Black List Album. I live in Yerington, NV. myself. Don't know if you ever been here. Keep reacting to The Warning. They are 3 sisters from Monterey Mexico. The Warning does not do covers anymore they write their own songs and everyone of them is Great. They are currently on world Tour and be in Phoenix tomorrow then SLC.
A more likely version as to why it's the first track on the album would be that:
1. Enter Sandman is the first track on the original album.
2. All versions of Enter Sandman are placed in alphabetical order and Alessia Cara's name placed them first.
If you don't know for sure why it's first, don't claim that you know.
This is a collaboration with pop singer Alessia Cara, which is why the first verse is more poppy, but if you react to their live performance of this cover, from their show at Teatro Metropolitan on their CZcams channel, that version is mostly them, so more of a rock sound.
I would watch them perform live. In particular, Teatro Metropolitan from last year. My faves are Disciple and Animosity from that show
Neat reaction video. Everyone else in the comments will ave filled you in on The Warning and Alyssia Cara, who would have been in the video, but Covid meant she couldn't travel, so she ended up projected on the walls.
Cover versions can be fun. The Warning got their break doing a good solid cover version of 'Enter Sandman' back when they were little kids. IMHO a good cover version is one which sounds just as good as the original, and a great cover version is one which sounds just as good as the original while being different to the original. Neat that you were thinking about if they'd do a straight up version of the famous riff from Enter Sandman to finish off.

My warning's favourite songs: Disciple, Money, Choke, Evolve and Martirio, but honestly all their songs are high level.
There is absolutely a lot more you should check out from them. They are three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, just south of the Texas border. Alessia Cara is a Canadian pop/r&b singer. The Warning reimagined the song here in a very clever way, starting it out as a r&b style song sung by Alessia, and then moved it a hard rock style, and then ended in the original metal style, showing off their incredible stylistic range and chops. Metallica loved this version, by the way. You absolute should check out their Evolve and Error videos, along with a great live cover they did of Metallica's Enter Sandman, which they played straight.

Metallica wished for this, they rearranged this iconic song. I like how this version develops and builds-up from Pop-songwriter style over The Warning rock into this famous riff! It’s an experience live, check their vocals harmonies in the video of their show in Mexico City last year! These talented sisters play their own music now, and developed greatly. I like the cover of Atlas Rise from their show in the Whisky a GoGo some years ago. With only one guitar, and with great drumming! Hi! Metallica was slightly impressed as well as it is the first track on the Metallica Blacklist Album. You should check out their original music. I suggest Disciple from their Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert from last year. They have opened for some bands that you may have heard of, like the Foo Fighters, Guns and Roses, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, as well as others. They are also opening for Muse in the UK in a few weeks for all of their sold out shows. They have a following of well over a half million followers called the Warning Army. And they love those that love these girls. As a member of said army, I'm on the fence.

Great 1st time reaction to The Warning Michael!
The Villarreal Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track!
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 23, 21 and 18 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their North American MAYDAY TOUR and ERROR WORLD TOUR.
Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.
