THANK YOU ALL FOR JOINING US ON THIS JOURNEY!! Do you agree with the results??
With one series finished....its time to move onto the next ;) Hope you all are ready!
How would I know? I haven't watched the video yet!!
Thanks duke gc!!!
Thank you for making it!
Thankyou Duke, you’re awesome!
no. Thank YOU for such a wonderful and special series. i cant wait to see what new series you will come up with next.
It is interesting how a group of only human judges gave the highest overall points to the human feasts.
Coincidence I THINK NOT
It’s also interesting that every non-human cuisine was made by humans too, and still got lower points. Hmm.
Hmm, me thinks he should do this again with judges from ALL races....
I think it's because the human dishes were easier for duke to make because he is human and the others were different and he couldn't make them as well. They stoked looked good but they were more outside his knowledge and also had more things he had never made before
RIGGED
Humans: *Makes boring food*
Also Humans: *Makes fantasy world and holds real-life contest to crown fantasy human food as superior*
Checks out.
Can't argue with that logic
Checks out
Boring food???
I found the ginger bread cookie to be so exotic I assumed the humans made the pie!
Well I mean humans were trying the dishes of course they would like their own dishes best for this to be fair you'd need 1 person of each race for it to be fair.
rigged
Oh my I would LOVE to see everyone attempting to remain unbiased, except the elves are very clearly biased just pretending to hide it, and the dwarves are not pretending to hide it AT ALL because their food is clearly superior so why say anything else?
What would happen is the Dwarves would always rank the elven dishes the highest thinking it’s there, then find out in the end it wasn’t and have them come up with some excuse
I would like to graciously extend the offer of my services as the representative for the Halflings.
😂😂
@@ayaanjajodia4585 Dude, yougotta try the Drow mushroom dish. it is G R E A T!
"The humans won the last 3 rounds out of 4 total rounds. Time to reveal who won" lmao
Could of easily been the Dwarfs with the huge point lead in the beginning 😂 secretly I was rooting for the dwarfs
@@OneShotQuesters yeah ikr me too, I was like "dwarves for the win" lmao
but the H A F L I N G S
I mean the dwarves would have won if the got 37 on the last round which wouldn't have beaten the humans for the round
I was surprised at some of the dishes once you hid who they were. I would have sworn some of the human dishes were dwarven.
It's always kind of cute when people discover how much butter goes into cookies. You gotta remember, that butter's being distributed to as many cookies as you make so unless you eat the whole batch you're not literally eating all 12 of those tablespoons.
Unless
Not with that attitude you're not 😂
why make 12 cookies and eat them when you can make chonk cookie
i mean... id eat it all
Bread is basically Water with Flour (And a few gimmicks to make it taste better...)
Cake is basically Bread with Sugar
Cookies are basically Butter with Sugar and Flour
The biggest thing that affected the rankings was that you used only humans as taste testers
Dude it is all human food made for humans by humans, compiled to meet fictional Race stereotypes. That is..."I bet darwves would eat this"
@@danjing2961 bro it was a joke chillll
@@danjing2961 Whooooooooosh. That joke flew right over your head.
@@danjing2961 you're not very bright are you
@@danjing2961 dude your braincells are leaking
Duke should make videos where he makes a random dish from the cookbook and lets us guess what race its from!
I second this
Call it like Mystery Hero
I cant believe this series is already at desert it was really creative like no one has done anything like this before
I love how involved Jakin is with all the edits he's so adorable he needs little costumes or something so you can tell he has a lot of fun making these.
Thank you! 🥺
@@JakinShaw OLD MAN JAKINS?!
Whenever using an electric mixer, you should add the liquid ingredients first so you don't get left with powder at the very bottom. Not a problem with every mixer, but still a good thing to know.
Shout out to my aunt Julie for making the beautiful aprons Duke uses to cook XD
Hey.....You single?
I CANNOT believe that's your username. Proper branding, although it made me think whether it was Duke's idea.
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer her idea actually!
Aunt Julies are just about the best aunts there are! (I has 2)
Pie=humans, gingerbread dinosaurs=halflings, fruit salad= elves, porridge= dwarfs
Well I was half right.
I saw duke post about wanting to hear more of what content everyone wanted to see, would anyone else just genuinely love to hear some of his whackiest d&d stories? I loove hearing some of the weird things that can happen during a d&d session that make people just go "what the what?"
YES
I agree entirely.
I also agree
Funny reply first:
Of course the humans won, the panel had a bias. The judges were all humans!
Real answer: Thank you so much for this series. This channel is one I tend to watch more than my mum, and she tends to prefer cooking shows. So we got to enjoy this together. You guys made us smile and laugh throughout all the episodes. Thank you!
Jakin is just Duke's excuse to talk to himself on Camera
My predictions...
The Pie is Halfling because of the combinations of apples and blackberries, it is very tea time like and Halflings do love their tea times.
The meringue fruit one is Elven because it seems super fancy, and time-consuming. I have made meringue before and it is very light tasting. Elves like things that are light.
The mash oats stuff (oatmeal?) is Dwarven because Dwarves like simple hearty meals. They tend to have meals that stick to your stomach.
I think the cookies are human. Because... Ginger Bread MAN.
This series actually inspired me to make a character who's ambition for traveling was the exotic food from different places.
Rabbitfolk Support Build Druid
My Guess is
Cookies: Halfling
Fruit salad: Elves
Oatmeal: dwarf
Pie: human
Cookies: humans
Fruit salad: Elves
Oatmeal: dwarf
Halfling: pie
Same
I knew halflings were made by pie
What kind of monsters would eating halflings!
@@mariamgomaa1242 Theres a recipe in the book that calls for halfling meat ;)
@Mariam Goose obviously pie
Porridge is not dessert! The dwarves had pudding as their only dessert.
My predictions:
Humans: pie
Halflings: gingerbread
Dwarves: porridge
Elves: fruit salad
Got half of them right
Really enjoyed this series. Sad to see it end. But now that we eaten our fill. Onward to bigger and better things! Just one more piece of pie before we go.
The amount of food puns in this comment is delicious
His reaction to the pie as he's cutting it and eating it is great. As a veteran baker, that moment is always precious.
I am shivering with antici...............................................pation.
Thank you Man for making this great series. Its actually inspired me to use my heroes feast cookbook .It’s sad for it to end but all good things must come to an end eventually. Thank you dude.
I make ninja shaped gingerbread men(ninjabread men) from scratch most years for Christmas. You did pretty well they are a fairly complex cookie.
The most hype finale since Avengers Endgame
"There's a lot of people who are profession chefs that are watching"
We're loving every second
Smh, the rules clearly state "no putting my own twist on a recipe" yet he makes gingerbread dinosaurs instead of gingerbread men
My thoughts aside, this was a fun series to watch you do. Maybe you can take on other cookbooks themed after RPG games. Heck World of Warcraft has two cookbooks. Fallout and The Elder Scrolls have one too.
This is where the fun begins !!
This is where the fun ends...
Personally, I feel like we needed a little less of a biased taste tester in there. I mean, Legolas hasn't had any work in years! Just hit the guy up, man.
Pie - halfling
Gingerbread- humans
"Fruit salad" - elves
Whatever was at the end - dwarves
Wow, who would have thought that humans will like human dishes more then anything else in the end?
I just want you to know that I watched all 4 of these back to back and loved every minute of it. As someone who was a cook and is an avid DnD fan with the same cookbook I absolutely loved this and watching your taste testers have a blast eating food you made (aside from a couple of them... in the *cough cough* bread video) I can only imagine the joy you got from watching them enjoy themselves. I know that the Main Course one was phenomenal and if I got compliments like that for my cooking I would just about cry,
Also... this series is not catered to all races, get some elves, halflings and dwarfs next time!
I didn't cheat this time and get my book. I got the halflings right...and that's it
Dwarf- Fruit Pie- Wrong.
Elf- Salad Soup- Correct.
Halfling- Oatmeal thing- Wrong.
Human- Cookie- Correct.
Just binged this series and I gotta say, fantastic!
To add some more stats, I compiled which meals were guessed most correctly, as as well as which race's cuisine waswas guessed most correctly, and here they are.
Meals: Bread was guessed 4/16 (25%), Apps were guessed 5/16 (31.25%), Main courses were guessed 9/16 (56.25%) and Desserts were guessed 14/16 (87.5%) of the time.
Races: Dwarves were guessed 6/16 (37.5%), Humans were guessed 7/16 (43.75%), Halflings were guessed 8/16 (50%) and Elves were guessed 11/16 (68.75%) of the time.
Yes
Human, Elf, Dwarf, then Halfling
Edit: Nailed it again boys!
Been waiting for this forever-
Nah it's only been a few days-
The pure joy and pride you felt about your pie was heartwarming. It looked amazing and you did an excellent job!
YOOO, THOSE LOOKED GOOOD, i have 0 advice, i'm suprised that peter got the most right, loved it, can't wait for another version of this, hopefully it's making the weapons
I MISS THESE FACES!!! Also, Amy's braids look awesome, and I envy that she wears them so well. Great series!
Can’t wait to start the sessions back up!!
I'VE BEEN CHECKING YOUR CHANNEL EVERY DAY WAITING FOR THIS, I'M SO EXCITED
I think half the fun of these videos is watching a first time baker's reaction to making his first creation.
Hey man you are great. So I am a retired Marine and chef with 30 years in the food and Beverage industry, so I intentionally waited for you to finish all 4 videos to watch them all together. I truly enjoyed watching you be a Trooper and power through all the issues that you can have in the kitchen doing new things. You are truly hilarious and passionate about what you do. I am so glad I found your channel this year as I needed to be able to laugh with all I have going on in my life right now.
Seeing the range of emotion Duke went through this whole video was just great. From Bread Pettiness to Cook Insanity, loved it all mate. Keep up the good work (And for the love of Desna, leave Jakin's face alone)
I personnally am not that surprised that gingerbread men cookies needed that much ingredients, for they are, in fact, made out of gingerbread. And before anyone asks, *no* gingerbread is not just some bread with sugar and ginger. The English name is sure confusing, whereas a litteral translation from the French name would be more accurate: "spices bread". And *please* for those who wouldn't know, understand that spices aren't only spicy things, but a whole category of substances used for flavoring. Go to Wikipedia for more info.
I shall say, as a French person, and moreover a French person living in a family which does cook, pretty often in fact, and not only buy industrial stuff, all of what I see in those videos is quite common for me, cooking is indeed something that takes time and dedication. Yet I do understand that, through cultural evolutions and geographic distances, people get not to cook really often, maybe even nearly never. Despite the fact that I am not really in favor of such culture of never taking the time, to cook, to do stuff, and even to eat (where do you think that *fast-foods* came from?), I still do understand.
So, I do have to say, you're doing great cooking all those dishes, and very certainly better than most people would. Glad you can have fun and enjoy cooking that much.
Gingerbread biscuits aren't even bread at all.
@@Kyle-gw6qp Well no but actually yes
(No they aren't, but actually yes they are)
Destpite the recipe having changed quite a bit through time, the gingerbread is actually a bread made with spices and honey. Honey was added in order to sweet the whole from having so much spices, but people have come to like it with more and more sugar, and it has become more of a dessert than an actual bread -- but that is only a matter of how it is consumed. The gingerbread still is a bread.
@@nerjalnosk4152 It's a biscuit. Shortbread isn't bread either.
@@Kyle-gw6qp oh wait
I may have misread what you said --"
Of course the biscuits aren't bread.
But I mean... They're biscuits.
The real gingerbread is a bread.
Even after almost three years this is still one of my absolute comfort series. Just so much wholesome chaos, good food and DND combined
Came back to this series a year later and Duke's absolute joy at the pie still makes me smile.
I'm not going to be able to make the premiere because I have to do a thing tomorrow...
*dies of 1d4 sadness damage*
Watching make the pie was so cute!! Also cookie recipe wasn’t to wild.
I am so happy for Duke to have been able to keep this project fun for him until the end. Sometimes excitement can work against fun and can only get you so far. I think the structure of a meal helped to cut down into enjoyable (and manageable) parts while keeping the big picture of gastronomy and diversity. Amazing job!
I could care less about the actual food, the real content here is the general levels of pure joy and excitement you emit doing these things
I guessed only 1 dish, but also a winner of the series. I'm kinda happy
YAAAASSS! CAN’T WAIT :DDD
I always love these ones!
Jakin is at like Lixian levels of
A. being wholesome as all get out
B. getting smacked around by his boss
C. having an actual character that interacts with everything
my guess.
Fruit mix, Elf. Pie, humon(Sic). Rice pudding, dwarf, gingerbread cookies, halfling.
Duke, I love every single video you make whether it's cooking, dnd sessions, sketches, etc they are all amazing!!😃💖
Now thats what i call some tasty looking food
i always love andrew and michael's interactions. andrews "Get outta meh brain" for the second time (the first being in the appetizers, i believe) and Michael's "suck iiiit"
Before the rating:
Apple Blackberry Pie: I thought either Elves or Humans, but after seeing the later deserts, I say Humans now.
Gingerbread Cookies: Gotta be Halflings.
Meal's End: Elves
Porridge: Process of elimination, Dwarves.
After the Rating:
Gingerbread Cookies: Got wrong
Meal's End: Got it right
Dwarven Porridge: Too easy
Heartland's Rose Pie: I'm honestly surprised.
Okay dessert I'm going to say that the:
First dishes elves
Second dish haflings
Third dish humans
Last dish Dwarves
Edit:agggh I got them all wrong no. 😭😣 oh well at least it was fun I hope there will be another series like this sometime
It’s time for the Hype Train!!!!!!!
Lived this video series Duke - yourself and Jakob did a great job. Keep it up, keep being you - it really shows in the end result. Again, fantastic work, and also, great cooking.
I actually bought the cookbook because of these videos AND IT ARRIVED TODAY!
The variety in dishes is awesome. The artwork in it is awesome. I can't wait to make and taste them! The only fault with the book imho, is that there aren't enough pics of the dishes.
I think it's really funny that the elf food was immediately recognizable to pretty much everyone in all of these
Whoohoo!!!
Im actually in the middle of making the pie rn. Been looking forward to making it since Wednesday 🙌
Edit: I just got the chance to try it and it is FANTASTIC. I made everything from scratch and it was so worth it
4:41 Y’see Duke, for every chef who watches your video, there’s saps like me who have also never made a pie. Or bread. Or whatever. I’m right there with you - panicking about this, unsure how to do that. Because...it’s all new to me too! So, in the end, what makes this series so incredible is what I’m gonna call THE JOY OF DISCOVERY. It’s engaging and fun and satisfying. So... I guess my point is: keep on it, man! Keep on experiencing that JOY OF DISCOVERY. Maybe name a ship that in a oneshot, I dunno. 😆 Love your stuff, dude. Keep on making things. Keep on discovering things. You’re a joy. ❤️
Jakin is doing most of the work here. Thanks for making Duke seem funny ;P
I'm alive
Humans: won
Jury: made of only human
Also Humans:"thruth is, the game was rigged from the start"
Pie tips: let the crust warm up, it gets more stretchy and less likely to tear; cut a hole in the middle (or decorative shapes - my cat walked across the plastic wrap over the pie crust while I was filling the shell the first time I made a pie, so I used her footprints) so that the liquid doesn't come out where top and bottom crusts join and burn
I’m sad this is over I liked watching you make the dishes for D&D. This was great! Hope you do this again someday!
Yeessssssss
All we really discovered in this series was that humans like human food. Your judges panel was tilted I'm afraid.
Dude, you looked like you were on the verge of tears of joy as you ate that pie. Just for that, this video is 10/10.
8:10 I was gonna say "don't you need to cut a hole in the top so it doesn't explode?" But it looks like it turned out fine.
YASS :)
Was so excited to see this! I hope you keep having fun with your channel and exploring various areas you want to test out if you ever do! This was rad, man.
I really enjoyed watching this short series of cooking videos and the competition between the different races foods! Very creative and now I think I need to buy a new cookbook... 😉
8:55 "I'd give this a 10/10"
"Cause I made it"
XD basically me when cooking anything
Loved this series so much! Was a real highlight whenever I got to see a new episode.
Was waiting this video like SO MUCH! And was really happy to see it! :3 It was really great and I'd love to try all these beautiful dishes cooked by you with such determination and pasion. Thank you for such great content! (And secretly waiting for more such videos, they are really awesome.)
The joy of making a pie. Just wonderful. I’m betting that’s elven
Pie - elven // wrong
Gingerbread - halfling // wrong
Salad - human (or swap with pie) //wrong
Desert over the stove - dwarven //right
The secondhand excitement and pride over the pie is palpable! It looks amazing!!!
Awesome series! Well done and great to watch.
This was an awesome series! Fun watching you make the food and the taste-testers' reactions! I found myself really laughing right along you guys!
As a baker I love how proud you were of yourself after making the pie!
I came into this series at the bread episode and I loved that video it's part of what made me subscribe to this channel. Waiting on the next one now that it's all over. I'm going to remain subscribed because of all of the other amazing stuff that Duke puts out. Thanks for sharing this amazing journey with all of us. I had a blast even if I wasn't allowed to taste the food which I'm certain was truly tasty. It's too bad that this series is over. But it's been an wonderful ride. Thanks to all of the taste testers and to Jakin for his tireless efforts to make the host look good.
Cookies: Halfling
Fruit Salad: Elf
Oatmeal: Dwarf
Pie: Human? idk seems also like halfling but cookies seem more halfling.
So I was wrong but I doubted myself so at least there's that.
Considering this was the first time making these recipes, Duke did a great job (except for the Elven Meal's End which needed to have the cream be more of a whipped cream since the dish is similar to the British Eton Mess). Would love to see more of this series!
I hope you do these cooking videos in the future I was always looking forward to when they came out.
This was a fantastic mini series!! My friend makes stuff from this cookbook, and i now make smashed potatoes all the time. Well done!
This has been so much fun. Thank you for doing it.
my bets:
the elegant berries and creme with lavender buds : elves
the pie of indeterminable contents : halfling
the oatmeal-looking mush : dwarves
the gingerbread humans : humans
~watches the vid to find out~
nailed it.
Hey, I guessed right too. Andrew is seething.
Was very inclined to put the oven food with the dwarves again though, but it also really seemed like a halfling thing, plus fruit not being dwarven's a really good point.
Also the gingerbread could've easily been halfling, but that'd leave the pie for humans and the other way around made a little more sense.
Tough round for me, tbh.
Awesome job Duke! Very much enjoyed watching this series
