I love long video's with informed well spoken creators, I also watch Janet M. Young and Dede Willingham, they both run a couple of hours at show time, they do lives. I think the changed version of the marble and bird looks great, reminds me of a Journey Album cover. You are well spoken and give information about what you use and what you learn, that is very appealing to me. Thank you for your time and talents.
Awww... Thanks for the support and for the kind words! :)
Hi Connie, I am in the group that loves the long, chatty videos from you. I agree with the person below about the fact that you are well spoken and the information you share being of value being a huge factor in the appeal of your longer videos. I'm not sure that you understand how funny and interesting you are or how much your coloring "lessons learned" help those that watch learn. Plus, you have some really beautiful coloring! Thanks for sharing!
Awww... Thanks for the kind words! :) I'm glad I can help others (and myself ;)) learn from my mistakes. :)
I like the long videos personally, always interesting and entertaining although you tempt me with all the books. ❤
Thanks for chiming in! And I'm sorry for tempting - I often get tempted by other colourists on CZcams, too. :)
You are a breath of fresh air in the coloring community. Love your style, mediums, colors, books. Your approach, delvvery, and scientific curiosity are very enjoyable. I have learned a lot about paper, inks, etc. I tried the Zig clean color and couldn’t control them so I purchased the Staedtler and am doing much better. I also am not a fan of Prismas. Love the Polys but was in a coloring pencil slump until I started watching your channel and tried the Staedtler. I also tried some Zebra mildliner brush markers just for fun. Keep being you.
Awww... Thank you for your kind words! :) Those Zig pens are hard to control - I'm finding it's taking time for me to learn to control them. So glad you're enjoying colouring again! :)
Lovely haul - enjoy your goodies and loved your completed pages. I’ve just purchased that French garden book, I couldn’t resist, especially after seeing your beautiful completed page! ❤
PS on the Green ivy page you used the Zig clean colour waterbrush pens, did you use them directly on the paper, or scribble on a palette and then use a waterbrush pen to apply on the paper? How did you find they worked on the paper, for example, were they easy to blend? Just thinking if they stayed wet enough to allow you to move them around? I’m so wanting to colour all day and night after marking for such a long time! Wow, your science page was awesome - I loved it. Enjoyed your video x
Thank you so much, K! :) I did use the Zig pens directly on the page. I found they blended nicely on the page and I could move them around if I worked quickly enough. I think the blends that I get from the Zig pens and in my Pitt Pen colouring are never as seamless as blends one would get from coloured pencil colouring but I'm ok with the less-smooth blends. :) Hope you're currently enjoying hours and hours of colouring time! :)
Hi Connie, I too love the long chatty videos, and as someone who loves colouring and still learning, I love your in-depth explanations. I think if you were my teacher in chemistry, it would have been my best subject 😊
That quote page is astonishing I can’t believe you did that! So much work and I didn’t know a background could be done like that. I ordered the delft book and the order went in and says delivery in a week so I’m hopeful. Really enjoyed this video!
Glad you liked it! And enjoy the Delft Blauw book! :)
I really enjoy your streams. Learn much and love seeing books from other countries & your supply choices. Thanks Connie
Thanks so much! :)
Wow what a lovely video, I need to say a big thankyou for not only showing us your supplies and what you use but explaining why you use them and how you find them to use, like you I prefer markers or pens for colouring, as I suffer from arthritis and fibromyalgia along with several other ailments. So I struggle with pencils, I watch numerous channels and try to see how they use supplies, I've spent lots of money trying pencils, even brought prismas, but I just find them painful to use.
Your pages are so beautiful, and they look so professional, I am going to try the staedtler pens first as they are within my price range, and save for the pit pens and the zig pens ( which I'd never heard of before you mentioned them ) you are a breath of fresh air to me, I have been colouring since childhood but not seriously, I made an Instagram account just 2 weeks ago thinking I'd get a couple of dozen followers but todate I'm up to 750, I have so many books I won't touch with cheap pens that I want to desperately colour, now thanks to you, I might try.
I'd there is any other advice you can give me I'd appreciate it please.
Thank you so much again.
Your channel is an inspiration ❤😊😊
Awww... Thank you for the kind words! :) The best advice I can give for starting to colour with the Staedtler pens (or Pitt Pens) is to not be too hard on yourself if your first few tries don't turn out the way you want them to. :) Colouring with those types of pens has a definitely learning curve and it takes a while to get used to them.
I think I'll try to get some full colour along videos filmed and posted using those kinds of pens to see if people find those kinds of videos helpful. Stay tuned! :)
I love chatty long videos!
Wow ur jardin en fleurs page is gorgeous ❤❤❤i have two wips in there still lol ,
Thanks so much, Maia! :) It's such a beautiful book!
The long videos are relaxing to have in the background as I color ❤
That's why I like the longer videos from other CZcams channels, too. :) Thanks for chiming in! :)
I love all your videos, short or long. Your personality is so lovely, and your talent is very inspiring!
Awwww... Thanks so much! :)
Love your Hannah Karlzon page. Would enjoy watching you color a page with zigs. Really like the Green Ivy books. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! :) I'm definitely thinking of filming some colour-a-longs using the Zig pens and some others using the Pitt Pens/Staedtler pens. Stay tuned!
Loved the long video . I was watching whilst colouring it was great. Love your finished pages.❤
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
OMG I love that bird page with the oil pastels bkground. Its beautiful!!
Thank you so much! :)
I just love your channel your chatty videos your colouring is amazing thank you for always putting a smile on my face 😊😊😊❤❤❤xxxx
Awww... Glad you like the videos! :)
I like both long and short videos and I just colour while you're talking. I watched right to then end too, Great video
Awesome - thanks for the comment! And I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :)
I just watched the video in two sessions. Haul then finished pages. Enjoyed your experiments
Thanks, Jody! :)
Hi, Connie! I love your videos! Your June pages are all absolutely gorgeous! Love how the marble background turned out!
Thank you so much! :)
Love your videos!! You always put a smile on my face. 😂 This video had me chuckeling! I think you did a great job on your "marble" background. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Awww... Glad I can put a smile on your face! :)
Love watching you, you must be an awesome teacher❤ wish you wouldn’t knock yourself and your coloring g down so much. I give you an A for attempting cause yes, many books are I tomato g! I give you a B+ for style (some pretty cool effects)! Keep doing g what you are doing❣️I’m a beginner and you are soooooooo far ahead of me (I don’t even have a channel yet!). Looking forward to your next videos, I try and catch them all but have been incredibly busy with work, taking care of my man and my son and car trouble so missed some and need to catch up❣️
I enjoy your long videos Connie. Keep em coming. You did so well with your pages. The Hanna Karlzon Seasons completed page was stunning! And I added some of your haul books to my wishlist. How in the world do those pitt pens wind up giving a colored pencil effect? That is so kewl.
Thanks for chiming in! Colouring with Pitt Pens definitely has a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, you can get some pretty cool results. :)
@@colouringchemist I am extremely good at chiming in! LOL.
Omg i love ur page in the garden enchantments ❤❤❤❤
Thank you! :)
I love long videos and enjoyed watching both parts of this one. I think that you did a fantastic job with that page from Daydreams. The colours that you used for the bird really pop with the background. Would you be able to demonstrate the 'firefly effect' that you mentioned in a future video please?
Thanks so much! And I've made a note to film a little tutorial on my firefly effect. :)
Lovely finished pages. I ordered the book by Sonia Cavallini, Jardins EnFleur after seeing your finished picture. I went back and watched the flip through again and finally pressed the buy button! I think I can learn a lot from the colored images. I really like the coloration in the book. Thank you
I think you'll love the Sonia Cavallini book - it's gorgeous! Have fun with it! :)
Hi Connie! Stunning pages!
Thank you! :)
Connie I love the long videos. The background you created on the Phoenix page is beautiful. Love the fireflies.💐
Thank you! And thanks for letting me know your preferred video length! :)
I love your videos!
Thank you! :)
Hi Connie , great video and I love the pages you did this month. I also have the Green Ivy poetry book as I love her art work too , ( I bought it before we all knew about Aladin) .I also have a perpetual calendar by Green Ivy I think you will like. I checked and it is on Aladin's site .Its called Daily Essay and has 365 colour pages , spiral bound to sit on your desk .
Ooooooo... I'm going to have to check that out!! That might be my desk calendar for 2025! :) Thank you!!
Hi Connie Hope you are well. Going to watch your video now. 💐💐
I am well - hope you are, too! And I hope you enjoy the video! :)
Hi, I love your finished pages and you got some great books. I ordered the kawaii mandala book earlier today, looking forward to that one. About the long or short videos? I don't mind long videos, but I do prefer the haul and the finished pages to be separate videos 😊
Thank you! And thanks so much for the feedback! :)
Hi Connie, I absolutely love the way you do your videos. You always include lots of useful information. I have watched many of your videos and have a question. I would like to like to get a set of acrylic paint pens to use in my coloring books. I mostly want them for covering the black lines. Which pens would you recommend? I'm not sure I want to spend what it would take to get all of the tooli-art paint pens. What works for you? Yes, I've watched a lot of CZcams videos and they're making my head spin. I'm so confused🙃
I'm also afraid of using cheap ones that turn my pages yellow. 🤪
Thank you in advance for your help. ❤
Hmmm... I don't know that I'm the best person to give advice on covering illustration lines - I don't often do it. :) I find that I like leaving the illustrator's lines in the picture - a coloured picture is a collaboration between myself and the illustrator so most of the time I don't mind leaving the illustrator's lines. :) You might want to check out this video: czcams.com/video/HNujBLLTTqo/video.htmlsi=P2NK4QFMTfTeLn20 Olivier is an AMAZING colourist and that video shows her covering illustration lines with either white gouache, white watercolor paint, white acrylic paint, or a white Posca pen.
Hope that helps! :)
@@colouringchemist Thank you so much for your reply. I will watch Olivier, I love her stuff.
@@charlotteking2896 You're very welcome! :)
Connie: Could you please post the link for the Korean Poetry book. Thank you. 🥰
Can do! I bought it from Aladin (the online bookstore in South Korea) - here's the link: www.aladin.co.kr/shop/wproduct.aspx?ItemId=190028047
If you've not ordered from Aladin before, Shelly from Shel's Colouring Journey has a video that walks you through the process - here's a link to that video: czcams.com/video/IudCzr261cI/video.htmlsi=zRv4XpavTH054_U2
Hope that helps! :)
Can you buy the black Zig Art and Graphic Twin black marker by itself or in a set of only black?
You can buy them through open stock (so individual markers) from Marker Supply online - here's a link: www.markersupply.com/zigartgrtwma.html
Hope that helps! :)
Connie the two books that are the same Korean/Japanese i would love you to try different mediums on two pages. Would love to see the result 💐
I've made a note - I'll see what I can do! :)
I loved the Science page Connie. Do you have a link to the black Zig pen please?
Absolutely! You can buy the pens through open stock here: www.markersupply.com/zigartgrtwma.html
Hope that helps! :)
Wow, I love the black background you have in the Hanna Karlson book, Seasons. What did you say you used?
Thank you! :) I used the black Zig Art & Graphic Twin marker - you can buy them through open stock (so you only need to buy the black and not a whole set :)) from Marker Supply online: www.markersupply.com/zigartgrtwma.html
Hope that helps!
@@colouringchemist Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
@@charlotteking2896 You're welcome! :)
Do you do coloring video's full i mean, its so beautiful...like the japanese or korean books? Or hannah
I haven't really done any full colouring videos - mostly because I don't really feel like I'm good enough for anyone to try to follow along. :) I'll try to get a few of those kinds of videos filmed and posted to see what people think. :)
Could you please translate the name of the coloring book you got from Alaskan with the school bus on the cover?
Thank you for your time
I think it's actually the front of a train :) but I know which book you mean. :) It's called "A four-season landscape coloring book" and the ISBN is 979-11-979730-4-8.
Hope that helps! :)
I love Kawaii and Manga coloring books.
Awesome! :)
Hi Connie! How can you tell if it’s Amazon paper? Thank you! 😊💖
If you look on the back of the very last page of a book, it should say "Manufactured by Amazon" if the book is printed on Amazon paper. If you're looking at an Amazon listing and wondering if the book will be printed on Create Space (Amazon) paper, scroll down to the product details and if the publisher is listed as "Independently published", that usually means the book will be printed on Amazon paper.
Hope that helps! :)
@@colouringchemist Thank you so much! 😊
@@rainingdiamonds9422 You're welcome! :)
Hi Connie so sorry I am a nuisance. The korean book with the brown cover with the cute illustrations could you leave Aladin link please. I will be grateful💖
Not a nuisance at all! :) If you mean the one that isn't a colouring book (that has the little essays/poems in it along with the Green Ivy illustrations) then this is the link on Aladin: www.aladin.co.kr/shop/wproduct.aspx?ItemId=190028047
Hope that helps! :)

Youre New to me, but youre coloring like it, i vieuw the video full, i laugh , get New ideas and much more...i gonne follow-up you....if you wanne
So glad you liked it! :)
Connie: I have the Original Floribunda. The difference in the page quality is there are only 20 pages in the original and they are very thick card stock with barely any give (you can not hold the book with one hand and do a flip thru) like you are doing. Also, it is not called Floribunda Year like yours. It is just called Floribunda. My cover (front and back) are pale pink with the word Floribunda in gold leaf on front. If you would like me to do a video and send it to you, I would be more than happy to do that.
Very cool - thanks for sharing that info! :)
