20 year current paramedic and former combat medic. The number 1 thing that is overlooked for medical emergencies is planning. Before anyone goes out on a hunt, all parties should review a plan of how to effectively call for help, how to provide immediate aid, and how to effectively evacuate a casualty to a higher level of care. A lot of remote hunting is outside of reliable cell phone coverage areas. Know how to accurately relay your position to first responders. In trauma, time is EVERYTHING. Shaving wasted time and eliminating, to the extent possible, confusion is just as important as what you pack in with you.
My mom is an er nurse and gives us fully kitted out first aid kits for Christmas every year it has anything and everything in it and it’s an amazing thing to have
As a paramedic and hunter I think you bringing this topic up is awesome! As always thanks for the awesome content! I do have a fire extinguisher and home med kit!
Always keep atleast one med/trauma kit with us when we hunt. Have had to use a tourniquet on a predator hunt before when a guy slipped on a cattle guard and punctured his arm. May need to look into a form of communication when phones don’t work. Good point.
Hey guys, be sure like , subscribe, hit notification bell, comment , send the CZcams overlords your first born , everything! 😂❤💯 We appreciate everyone!!
A chest seal and knowing how and when to use one is a must. A Garmin inreach probably isn’t a bad idea either in case you need to call in air support, cause most of us probably don’t have service where we are hunting.
You should talk to Kerry at dark Angel medical. Awesome person, great service, can make medical kits to your liking. Is one of the best storytellers you’ll meet
As someone who has been working with my dad, who's a hunting guide, for 12 yesrs, I decided it was better to just put together a rifle specifically for handing off to hunters when they need one
Ive got both and i carry small trauma kit on body. Making a kit for work after a guy sliced his wrist the other day, got him patched up and to the doctor. MAKE SURE YOU BUY NAME BRAND NOT CHEAP AMAZON KNOCKOFFS
