Because they learned English here. Just like my Japanese students, they have Filipino accents, because they learned from Filipino English teachers. So, they acquire their accent. 😅

It's Kulafu I think.
Gin is made from juniper berries (the word "gin" was derived from juniper), while brandy is made out of smashed whole grapes(skin, pulp, seeds, juice), as compared to wine that is made out of the juice of grapes. 😉😊
We in the ph dont have a particular etiquette when we're drinking with older people. The only rule is just drink, if they tell you to shot you must take the shot, especially if they poured one and hand it to you.
And dont forget to add po if youre talking to elders. Like " thank you po" and " opo wala po ako pera"

I learned that alcohol drink from Philippines were either add more water content or reduced milliliter in South Korea. i dont know if this applies to other countries like USA, but these babies could kick ass in spirits.

That woody flavor you taste is actually from the barrels that the alcohol was stored in for aging.
