  • Today I'm sharing with you how I broke my 7 day #waterfast . I'm going to bring you along for 3 days of #carnivore eating after I had only water and coffee for 7 days.
    Breaking a fast is just as important as the #fasting itself so we are also going to do a post recap where I am going to go over how I could have done better, some #fastingtips and my plans for the next fast!

    One of my fasting books say of you fast for 7 than drink broth and super soft foods for first 3.5 days... Half of the fast... 🤷🏻‍♀️. That's how I tend to do it.

    Bone broth is the best. Yes..but coffe isnt good for a fast that is about healing . Coffee enemas are recomended yes.

      I’ve found that too much bone broth after a fast causes me to swell up like a balloon. And coffee is shown to enhance autophagy so I like to include it

    Oh that’s the one thing I can’t do, fast and drive long distance. But these videos help. I did my first two day fast last week and I’m going to do a 2 or 3 one at the end of this week. I definitely needed more salt.

    Breaking a long fast you definitely need to start slowly coming back to eating broth and eggs are good to start with before beef 🥩

    I keep mint growing in my yard and make mint extract/tincture with it. I have tummy issues and it really helps my stomach.

    I am just going to end a 72 hour fast. I think I will first do bone broth like you did, then something to get probiotics going again like plain yogurt, kefir,or sour cream, them wait awhile and maybe do eggs, then some fat like grass fed butter, then a small steak.

    Ah yessss! I just remember last time we were just waiting and waiting for you to take that first sip after soooo long! I admire you so much to be able to do this! It is my goal sometime and plan to start with a 3 day fast. Glad you are feeling a bit better after squishing, squashing the peppermint oil! 😅Thanks for the hints and ideas abouty how to break the fast....no chicken (dually noted). Smaller meals, supplements, digestive enzymes, or ACV. What do you think about charcoal tablets to help digestion? I struggle with no gallbladder symptoms all the time! Blessing to you!! 🙏💖

    We love peppermint oil! I use to use peppermint when the girls fevers would get to high but praise YAH I haven't used it in like 3 years! We have been healthy all this time which is amazing! Put I also use it on the summer behind the neck to cool down a little.

    ANYONE prone to low blood sugar spells tried fasting? If so, did you have any spells? How did you raise your blood sugar? FYI no, I'm not diabetic, I had gastric bypass 17 years ago.

      I used rest and electrolytes and in a pinch bone broth with salt. Yes I know technically it’s not fasting but if it’s that or quitting I’ll drink a cup of broth.

    You had 4-5 BIG coffees? No wonder you were thirsty as coffee is quite dehydrating past the second cup as it’s a diuretic. Also, since you hadn’t eaten anything it would have irritated your stomach something fierce!

    I started HCL with Betaine after reading a comment on a video. After dealing with digestive issues I had a bad bad episode over the summer. I won’t do into details but everything stopped. I probably should have gone to the ER but I didn’t. I know how dangerous this is but I just didn’t. Anyhoo, I began HCL. I’m not all the way better by any means. But I have quality of life again as far as not just waiting till the next attack. Never knowing what triggered it.

    Interesting my hubby does not get it when I say I am not hungry been having a big bowl of oatmeal it is 5min oatmeal not the packs but he does get it and then if I do get hungry I will have a snack not sure why I told you about that but that is what I am doing and hopefully that is cause me to lose some weight

    I'm in the process of breaking an eight day spring waterfast. I noticed on day four having ketonic function(like a minty type sensation, but around halfway through day five it stopped, and never really came back. Like what happened?(I used Crystal Geyser water)

    Did u loose a. Lot of muscle ?

      I didn’t. Water fasting you lose fat, water retention and dead or damaged cells. Perhaps the most tiny amount of muscle but really no. You may feel weaker at points of the fast but that just means you need more rest.

      According to Dr Alan Goldhamer, you will only lose muscle if you exercise during a fast. He recommends resting as much as possible.
      Which makes sense, when you’re lifting weights you break down muscle tissue, during a fast you clean out dead tissues.
      If you’re not fueling the muscle won’t rebuild. I like to take the fasting week off from the gym and go for walks.

    Will you do a day to day video for your next 7 day fast? If so, I'm going to join in with you on that one. I'll need to have a day to day 'contact' if you will in order for me to be motivated to stay on track with it. It's very difficult doing something like that by myself when everyone else is eating. I have no will power anymore. How awful of me! 😳🙃😒

    How much weight did you lose in 7 day fast

      I don’t remember off hand but I think a bit I’m under 10 pounds, gained back about half which is normal

      @johannaj2009 I’m not an expert but I have fasted quite a lot and some a lot of research on it. Do you have an actual question or just having fun?

      @@FermentedHomestead well it’s just that normally if people go on long extended fasts, especially on a carnivore diet they will have very high ketone-levels… means also feeling odd and not very comfortable … I have tried to fast but I measure my ketones and they go up pretty high what gets me worried

      @johannaj2009 thank you for elaborating, I wasn’t sure what you were asking specifically before. I have had high ketones (up to 7.9) when longer fasting as well. I was worried too so I spoke with a functional nutritionist friend about it and she said as long as I’m feeling good, not nauseous, no headache, etc then it’s not a concern. Speaking as a non diabetic, it would be a different sorry for type 1 or 2. Hope that helps
