Minecraft: Java Edition (formerly just Minecraft) is the original version of Minecraft, developed by Mojang Studios for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Notch began development on May 10, 2009, publicly releasing Minecraft on May 17, 2009. The full release of the game (version 1.0.0) was on November 18, 2011, at MINECON 2011.
Bedrock Edition (officially subtitle-less; also known as the Bedrock editions, Bedrock versions, or just Bedrock) refers to the multi-platform versions of Minecraft developed by Mojang Studios, Xbox Game Studios, and SkyBox Labs and based on the Bedrock codebase. The latest Bedrock Edition version is 1.18.2.
Although all Bedrock editions are nearly identical, the price[note 1] varies depending on the platform. The Android version costs US$7.49 (£5.41), while the iOS/iPadOS and Fire versions cost US$6.99 (£5.05). The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions cost US$19.99 (£14.45). The biggest difference I think between the two Minecrafts is part of the redstone, being that several Java circuits don't work in bedrock and there are some bugs that don't work too

Another difference I’ve noticed is how for some computers, the Java textures can seem kinda plain, and the grass grows like CRAZY, while some computers with Java don’t. Weird…

Honestly, both versions are cool, there are times I appreciate having Bedrock and times I wish there were Java features but I enjoy the game nonetheless.
I think bedrock has better features than Java, like small details.

You can also mix the colored water as well. For ex: you can mix white dye with purple dye to get a lavender color and dye your leather armor with.

@Piero fabrizio Loyola de la cruz Oh no. Not the water logging. I mean breaking part of the Ender portal and the portal is still active despite a part of it missing. I did that on Bedrock in one of the older versions but I'm not sure which one it was a very long time ago😅

The menu save one doesn't work on Bedrock because it is Primarily a multiplayer. So friends can join in randomly so the game is constantly going even if you go to the menu

0:30 Minecraft Java used to do the bedrock visuals. If you go back to 1.8 you'll see it. Alternatively, there are shader packs that look pretty while also bringing it back so you can still use 1.18.
There's probably a mod that does it too without shaders.

About *timestamp: 5:56 * in bedrock, ofc we can’t x-ray glitch by using pistons but we use boats for x-ray glitching. Basically (for mining in caves and trying to find amethyst geodes) you mine 4blocks long 2blocks high, then on the 3rd block, you place the boat and try going left or right in the wall, if the boat didn’t go through the wall on the left/right side of the wall, try the other side. If the boat is like in the wall (like one part of the boat), slowly go to the direction the boat is in... and be careful when doing this bcuz you may suffocate from going too much into the wall to x-ray

for me the two versions are good because each one has its characteristics that the other does not have, for example in bedrock it seems unrealistic to me that if a reed falls on you while you sleep nothing happens to you or that if you throw something at a boat it crosses it, and The same thing happens in Java. It also seems unrealistic to me that you can't paint the water or that the cacti float or don't break when you remove the bottom part. In short, each one has its own, and I also want to say that I have both versions on my PC and I like them both and play them.

in BE, coral instantly die even if it is put on a waterlogged slab
in JE, even if the coral is put on solid blocks, it can last a while before dying, and it can constantly survive when placed on a waterlogged slab

Fun Fact: In Bedrock Edition, when the End Portal frames were removed, the portal itself doesn't disappear, just like Java Edition (This is a bug that's been patched, unfortunately).

Another thing that remains to be clarified is that bedrock is better optimized I put the 12 chunks in java and it already puts me at 8fps but in bedrock I put it at 31 with the graphics at maximum and it already puts me at 30 fps Bedrock beats him in optimization :)

If you’re hitting 8fps with 12 chunks then you need a new pc
