Just been catching up on them of late I'm late to liking pool and learning it, but it also kind of sucks that aside from SVB who is also now 40+ years of age and Woodward, America seems to be seriously lacking in star power both compared to Europe and darn sure compared to the late 90s/2000s era ya know. but still awesome to watch them all.

DAMN, what a roster for USA, solid names on it

I know right, compared to now Americas lacking in major names like back then kind of a shame, got an ageing but still elite but also sometimes streakey legend in Shane VB and then Skyler Woodward, but beyond that? Europe been crushing of late man hope they can turn it around, I actually enjoyed watching old man Strickland compete at the 2022 cup heck he was even up against Jason Shaw 3 games to 0! but of course lost his mental edge and Jason came back ton win 5 straight dangit, in other words America needs some new talent asap cause Strickland is by far I mean by far even right now so so much better then other older semi retired American greats are like Archer for example like skill and technique wise Strickland can 100 percent still compete in elite events, but mentally its a roll of the dice with him and ya just cant keep relying on ageing greats ya know so not sure how its gonna go for America the next few years but will see.

Only thing I don't like is that Matchroom has taken over all aspects of major pool nowadays and they're primarily UK/European.... The American game of Billiards has been compromised as now ALL European now who run all MAJOR events, terrible time for pool

Right in Johnny's prime no player from today would have a chance. Johnny has 4 world 9 ball championships. Other than shane no American player has won a world title since earl and Johnny and Shane has 1. People love to talk crap about Johnny but Johnny would torture any of today's American players only one who would have a chance is Shane but Johnny would beat him to.

Earl. Johnny. Efren. Bustamontaie would mop the floor with any of today's players. They played when the cloth was slow and you actually had to have a stroke unlike today were the cloth is fast and the tables are perfect.
