Everybody heard her when we went solo 2006 with ‘Torn’ and the hooks sounded exactly as she contributed in the Say My Name background vocals. Matthew K had complete control over the group and had Beyoncé do all lead vocals then Kelly as 2nd in co-lead vocals. LeToya had the harmonizing vocals. LaTavia had the low tone vocals in the background like you hear in ‘Sweet Sixteen’. I’d say LeToya’s best vocals were on Say My Name background chorus.

Beyoncé always sung lead because she had the strongest voice & perfect pitch when singing Destiny’s Child rap like lyrics live while dancing without sounding out of breath.... Her ability to do so gave her much respect throughout the industry! 💯
People keep saying that but if the other girls were always lip synching how were their vocals suppose to grow??? Even if they sung live as background singers their voices would have grown. Look at Letoya and Kelly and even Michelle now. Their voices have truly grown.

Beyoncé has always been a star and a great performer, but I can’t blame the other girls for leaving. They deserved to shine too... Not to mention, there was a lot of shade during this performance (“you’re bugging me” *points at Letoya*) . Anybody with common sense would have gotten out. It worked out Great for Beyoncé tho, so I won’t knock her.

I’m not sure why Letoya didn’t lead any verses in the group. I don’t think she wanted to be a background vocalist because she went solo after Destiny’s Child. I wonder if that was a huge conflict with her and group. Maybe Matthew didn’t want her and Latavia to lead. Or maybe Beyoncé didn’t think that they were strong enough to lead a song. I heard Letoya’s three albums and she sounds like Kelly to me. Letoya can sing!! He’d talent should have been utilized in the group!

@@warrenaray LeToya’s vocals were very prominent in the background chorus vocals for Say My Name. Everybody heard her when we went solo 2006 with ‘Torn’ and the hooks sounded exactly as she contributed in the Say My Name background vocals. Matthew K had complete control over the group and had Beyoncé do all lead vocals then Kelly as 2nd in co-lead vocals. LeToya had the harmonizing vocals. LaTavia had the low tone vocals in the background like you hear in ‘Sweet Sixteen’. I’d say LeToya’s best vocals were on Say My Name background chorus.

She also Sanged in Independent Woman pt. 1 but wasn't in the group at the time of the video, just like how Latoya and LaTavia sanged in Say my name but was never in the video. Sad right?
