    Every ego has its own affinites to the various sins (colors) like Identies, but it is separate physical resistance (slash, pierce, blunt).
    These are determined at the start of battle by the sinner's lowest tier Ego (Zayin) equipped.
    It affects how much damage you take from Ineffective attacks (x0.5) to Fatal (x2) attacks. When you use a ego it would only give you the higher resistances meaning that if you were currently Neutral (x1) to wrath and the ego being was Fatal (x2) to wrath you would stay Neutral (x1).
    In turns of damage taken it means: that if you are Ineffective (x0.5) to Slash attacks but Fatal to Pride you would take more Slash damage then normal due to the sin affinity.
    it also works in reverse so: Fatal to Slash but Ineffective to Pride you would still take Fatal Slash damage but less then normal.
    The change makes it so that when using an ego it COMPLETELY overwrites current the sin resistances. Meaning that if you were currently Neutral (x1) to wrath and the ego being was Fatal (x2) to wrath you would now be Fatal (x2) to wrath.
    In terms of overall power this a nerf since you can't completely remove a sinner's low restances over time, but now low resistances matter more and ego is strategic since it may be better to keep certain affinities if say a boss attacks were only one type of sin.

      Do we have information on what resistances are changed? The only resistance change I can see are to the "Sins" essentially. No change for blunt/pierce/slash.

      @@DoctorDiggs Egos only have sin affinites/resistances not blunt, pierce and slash those are only affected by Identies

    E.G.O. Resistances are resistances to a specific Affinity.
    Before Update:
    Using an E.G.O. switches out current resistances (default is based on equipped ZAYIN), ONLY IF THE E.G.O.'s RESISTANCES ARE BETTER. ANY LOWERING OF RESISTANCES IS NEGATED.
    After Update:
    Complete switching of Resistances based on E.G.O.
    Basically a nerf, since right now you could theoretically use multiple E.G.O.s to make a Sinner resistant to all affinities.

      Thanks Elvin! I knew it was a nerf just wasn't sure if it was ONLY "Sin element" Resistances that changed or if they effected blunt/striking/slashing too!

    I'm not 100% sure but pre-release videos mentioned that using E.G.O skills would change a character's sin resistances and it was exclusively beneficial (which in my opinion didn't really make sense from a game design standpoint) so for example if a sinner had poor wrath resistance and their E.G.O had good wrath resistance but worse sloth resistance using the E.G.O would only improve the sinners wrath resistance without lowering their sloth resistance, but after this change the sinner's sin resistances will completely change to their E.G.O's resistances both positive and negative, this change will likely make lower tier E.G.O like ZAYIN and TETH riskier as the game progresses as while cheaper to use it's likely that lower tier E.G.O will always have worse resistances than higher tier E.G.O

      While your point may be correct at the game progresses, it does not apply to ZAYIN ego as your default / base resistance is your ZAYIN (lowerest tier equipped) which is why you can de-equip other rarites but not ZAYIN as it is your starter resist.

      @@Hein.- So how does this E.G.O resistance changing work? Is it just based off of simply equipping E.G.O in the menu or do you have to use the E.G.O in battle to improve your resistances?

    • @LotusHearted
      @LotusHearted Před rokem

      @@nathanblackburn1193 For ZAYIN EGO, those are going to be the resistances you’ll have from the get-go. After this update, when you use a TETH or higher, those will be your new resistances, as they will COMPLETELY override your old set of resistances.

    • @Hein.-
      @Hein.- Před rokem

      @@nathanblackburn1193 Like DuskLotus said, all sinners start every battle with the equipped ZAYIN-tier resistance. This is overriden when using a resistance of any other tier.
      So if you use a TETH ego, it becomes the TETH resistance while if you use a ZAYIN ego there is no change, because there is no difference. You can however flip-flop back, so if you use a TETH then a ZAYIN it becomes the last EGO used.

      @@Hein.- Okay yeah so my original comment is still somewhat accurate as later in the game and we have WAW and ALEPH tier E.G.O and much tougher fights using ZAYIN or TETH E.G.O after using WAW or ALEPH will weaken your sinner and using a WAW or ALEPH E.G.O asap in tough fights will be important and just spamming as many E.G.O attacks as possible regardless of tier might backfire in tougher fights, also even if a sinner's high tier E.G.O isn't super synergistic with your team it'd still be worth using once to increase your sinner's resistances
