For me the best picture was of the house on the hill in Manhattan, NY. People don't know that Manhattan was VERY hilly but over the centuries the island was leveled and the only part left of the original topography is a small portion on the NW corner of Manhattan. Heck, it has been decades since I left there and that may be gone by now. We humans know how to build but we also know how to destroy! But, thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed them all.

While in London, I refused to visit the British Museum because I did not want to see of all the stolen things they keep in there. All the Egyptian pieces were looted from Egyptian pyramids. They keep the ill-gotten loot even after the counties that owned the items asked to have them returned. The crown King Charles wore at his coronation had a huge blue diamond in front that had been stolen from India. Yes, India has asked that it be returned.
Looking on the bright side, the stolen Stone of Scone was returned and then merely on loan for the coronation, to be returned.

More than 150 years after they were “stolen in violent circumstances” by British soldiers, two top UK museums are returning some of Ghana’s “crown jewels”.
The items, which have been described as part of the “national soul” of Ghana, are being loaned - rather than given back - because a UK law bans national museums from “deaccessioning” items in their collections.
However, experts hope that the three-year loan of the 32 pieces of Asante gold by the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, will spark national and international debate about the rightful return of artefacts with cultural and religious significance to their countries of origin.
