I totally agree. His character development from ep7 where he needs to put up for allot of failures to ep8 where he ignored Snoke after being humiliated and concentrated on teaming up with Rey and ultimately doing what Vader should've done in the OT before the end, is amazing. I'd also like to point out the writing of Rey. The constant need for her to have some mentor.. someone to show her the way altho she's capable of protecting herself. She's obviously capable of using the force without training, which is a conclusion to what Yoda said to Luke in ESB. Do or do not, there is no try. No one needs training to use the force if their mind is in the right state.

Rey not needing training is one of the unbelievable parts of the new trilogy that disappoint a lot Star Wars fans, hence why she is memed as a Mary Sue.

Anakin would've found out by himself when grown how to use the force and what not without training either. As I said before. It's all the state of mind. If a force user believes in lifting a space ship, then he'll do it no matter how big.
That's why usually jedi are trained from a very young age. To train their mind to be focused on what's important. Grown ups tend to have learned things that distract them from having an open mind, yet it's possible for a grown up like Rey to focus and truly believe. People want Luke Skywalker over and over and over again.

He seems okay with talk show format but I think the more relaxed buzzfeed type interviews make him anxious. Most talk shows have a list of publicist approved questions. And the more relaxed interviews are more unscripted (like taking an online quiz or answering questions while playing a game). He is allegedly a very socially anxious person, is very very private, and has said that he feels a lot of self-imposed weight to not spoil stuff. So I think not knowing what they're going to ask stresses him out. Even on the talk shows where he's likely been told by a PA what they're generally going to talk about, he's a little awkward. I've noticed in some interviews they'll ask a question and he will tell a story that's only sort of related. It's like he had already mentally prepped a story he could say for that topic and stuck with it lol. Also, if you do an interview with Mark Hamill (who I love, this is not a dig) you pretty much know he's going into full storyteller mode and you won't have to say anything.
I don't doubt he's probably a very reserved, private person but it's highly unlikely his social anxiety can be that bad if he's made it as an actor. To make it in Hollywood is mostly about who you know and the connections you make.
If he doesn't talk to a lot of people then I guess he just happens to talk to the right ones.

We went to the premiere in Germany at exactly 00:00 on my birthday (14.12) and she was so excited :')
I have been on board since I was a kid watching the special editions and just going back and seeing the original versions instead just shows how good these films were. There was no need for most of those changes. Those really were movies ahead of their time and still hold up. I will always cherish them for giving me an amazing experience.
I'm pretty fascinated to hear that someone like you who's now older and isn't on the bandwagon of the original trilogy, saying they're perfect and whatever else that had been released is pure garbage. You actually like the franchise for what it is and should be - and I give you mad respect for that! Probably the first old person I see who likes the entire franchise!
my dad saw a new hope on the opening night (he told he had to sit in the ground because the cinema was too full) when he was 15 and now I'M 15 and he took me to the last jedi opening night. star wars is kind of a big deal in my family by now 😆

I do t know obviously his life on it but it could be that when he is acting, he knows what is happening next so he has control of knowing but with interviews in front of many people, he might not know what will be asked or said when all eyes are on him. Again, just my perspective on it.
He has said in interviews he doesn't really like speaking in public or in interviews. He's a very private person. It's only when he acts he feels comfortable.

Mark has been doing press and late-night interviews for almost 40 years. I think Kimmel had to let Mark run the interview. Mark basically used up the interview time with the ESB story so no one else could be tempted to drop plot details for TLJ.

I know this is a morbid thought but I'm going to be incredibly sad when Hamill passes. The other actors talk about Star Wars occasionally but they will eventually move onto other projects.
Hamill is pretty much mainly known for Luke but he seems completely content with being the "Star Wars ambassador" after all these decades. There won't be another cast member as passionate about it than he is.
